CHAPTER 304: CHAPTER 304: BITTER FRUIT REAPED

He spoke slowly and with difficulty, his eyes filled with despair.

Bian Yue watched silently, not uttering a word.

"Bian Yue, you know I always seek gain, why do you still hold such naïve thoughts? You understand me, anything I do, I must have results," Li Sihe’s voice was hoarse, the smile on his lips forced. He paused, then added in a low voice, "Even if you never speak to me again, I won’t let you go."

He seemed to be speaking to himself rather than to Bian Yue, as if trying to convince himself.

There was an almost shattered light in his eyes. Amidst Bian Yue’s silence, his hands clenched into fists, and he spoke softly again, "You’re tired, I’ll take you to rest."

Bian Yue brushed his hand away and walked out.

She had no more desire to speak to him—right now, silence was the best outcome between the two of them.

Bian Yue knew that Li Sihe would never let her go.

But she couldn’t lose her composure; she had a child. For the sake of her child, she had to keep herself alive and calm.

Li Sihe had long taken away Bian Yue’s phone, she had no idea of the time or how long the plane had been flying.

Her consciousness blurred as she looked at the night scenery outside the airplane window, feeling the shaking and turbulence beneath her, her eyebrows drooped, her expression pale.

Day and night changed, and Bian Yue did not know how long she had actually slept.

That evening, Li Sihe did not come to find her.

She stayed alone quietly for a long time, ate some food, and finally settled down to sleep.

The person who brought her food must have been one of Li Sihe’s subordinates. Surprised at her own compliance, she picked up the empty plate and said with a smile, "It’s good that you’re willing to eat. Mr. Li was worried you wouldn’t."

Bian Yue sneered but did not respond.

Of course, she would eat; she would keep herself alive and well, and she wouldn’t let anything happen to herself.

The worse the circumstances, the more she needed to stay calm.

She saw Li Sihe again the following night.

He had a faint scent of sandalwood on him. Bian Yue, with her eyes closed, smelled the cool fragrance and involuntarily frowned.

"Do you feel unwell?" In the quiet space, Li Sihe brought her a cup of water, walked over to Bian Yue, set the cup down, crouched to look at her, his clear eyes concerned, "Yueyue, hang in there a bit longer, we’re almost there."

Bian Yue frowned; she barely opened her eyes to look at Li Sihe, her expression a mix of weariness, "Almost? Li Sihe, are you going to release me? It’s nothing more than being moved from one place to another by you. What difference does it make to me?"

Li Sihe thought, she’s finally willing to talk to me. Yet these words were loaded, making his heart tense.

"I heard from my secretary that you ate well yesterday. All those dishes were your favorites when you were with the Li Family. So much time has passed, and your taste hasn’t changed." Li Sihe sat down in front of Bian Yue, lowered his gaze to see the disgust in her eyes, and could still say nonchalantly, "We’re almost there, just 30 more minutes, and the plane will land."

Bian Yue’s eyelashes trembled as she propped herself up, looking out at the unfamiliar and distant ground, without much hope, she asked, "Will you tell me where we are?"

"No," Li Sihe’s voice was tender, "it doesn’t matter where we are. Rest assured, I will take good care of you. From now on, our life will be just like when we were with the Li Family. Yueyue, nothing has changed, isn’t that good?"

Bian Yue thought, Li Sihe was actually a madman.

He was far more pathological than herself.

She looked at him, speechless.

The plane landed within a grand estate castle.

An antique European-style castle and endless fields blanketed with a thick layer of snow.

This castle was styled after the middle ages, covered in white snow, its original color obscured.

The helipad was on the roof of the main estate building. As Bian Yue disembarked from the plane, she felt the fine snowflakes falling on her face.

Li Sihe brought her to a snowy foreign country.

From this point on, Bian Yue found no way to return.

Li Sihe stood by Bian Yue’s side, watching her standing in the snow. He draped his coat over her shoulders and softly admonished her with great care, "You’re physically weak, let me take you inside first."

Such perfect gentlemanly behavior, if it hadn’t been him who captured her and brought her here, Bian Yue would have surely praised him.

But now, she looked at him coldly, her facial expression icy, utterly indifferent.

Li Sihe was momentarily hurt by her gaze. He forced a smile, pressing his lips together in a light smirk, and said lightly, "Why are you looking at me like that? It’s windy outside, let’s go in first, shall we?"

Bian Yue brushed off the coat, letting it fall to the snowy ground. She looked at Li Sihe’s face, touched with bewilderment, and said coldly, "Didn’t you want to take me inside? Then let’s go."

Li Sihe gave a bitter smile and picked up the coat.

He hadn’t expected Bian Yue to be so cold and hard towards him. She was supposed to be angry and crying at him, but she shouldn’t be looking at him so coldly, as if he was trash...

Li Sihe could only tell himself that he deserved this, it was self-inflicted. Even if the pain was unbearable, he should be willing to swallow it.

Bian Yue wouldn’t always be so cold towards him. One day, two days, one year, two years, he would eventually wait for Yueyue to return, eyes full of only him.

Li Sihe slowly shook off the remaining snow from his suit. He looked at Bian Yue, his expression unchanged, and gently said, "Alright, I’ll take you inside."

The room had been prepared long before, this meticulously planned return to the country, with Bian Yue as his only target.

Now, as he wished, she was standing in this room.

The room was laid with thick white carpets and diverged from the heavily European-styled main building. The interior was more reminiscent of how Bian Yue had lived when away from home.

Shi An’an once burned everything in her room, yet now everything was set up precisely as it was when Bian Yue had lived there, no different at all.

"From now on, you’ll stay in this room. If there’s anything you need, just tell me," Li Sihe smiled. He looked at Bian Yue’s indifferent face without minding, his gentleness intensifying, "Yueyue, you can have anything you want."

"You can leave now. I want to be alone," Bian Yue told Li Sihe, her eyes devoid of emotions, "I don’t have any means of communication. You don’t need to worry about me sending any messages out. I just want to be alone now, is that alright?"

Li Sihe’s smile froze on his face, his refined brows and eyes sank with a dark shade, "Alright, I’ll leave. You take some time to calm down."

With that, Li Sihe turned and walked away. Bian Yue closed her eyes, feeling nausea churning in her stomach. She could no longer hold back, ran to a nearby bathroom, and couldn’t resist the urge to retch.
