After Breaking Up, I Married the General
Chapter 29 - 28: Waking up
CHAPTER 29: CHAPTER 28: WAKING UP
Ryzel’s biological clock woke him up early in the morning. He was still sleepy, but he needed to wake up since he felt something was wrong with where he was lying down.
He noticed that his bed felt harder, and the blanket was less fluffy than usual. He tried to move to the right side of the bed but was blocked by something.
Ryzel opened his eyes, sensing there was something wrong. He noticed someone leaning over the bed, looking at something on his light brain screen.
Ryzel’s sleepy mind was abruptly awakened when he saw someone by his side. He recognized the person next to him right away as General Layton Lewis Vespertine.
When he saw the person beside him, he remembered that he had married General Layton the previous night.
He also remembered that after getting his belongings from his apartment, he fell asleep inside the aircraft and awoke only this time.
His recollection was interrupted by a sudden inquiry.
"Good morning. How was your sleep?" Layton Lewis said while staring at him.
Ryzel sat up immediately when she heard Layton’s question.
"Good morning. I slept well. Where are we?" Ryzel asked, peering around.
He was in a room with grey and dark blue accents. Even the bedding was a gray color. He also notices that the room is not attractively designed. It’s a room with a very minimalist layout.
"We have already moved into my house in the Capital Star. We’re in my bedroom, which will become our bedroom in the future," Layton Lewis explained.
Ryzel could only recall going to his apartment to grab his belongings. Ryzel is unable to recall anything else after getting into the aircraft and falling asleep.
Ryzel understands that he should have slept deeply, which is why he has no recollection of entering Layton’s house.
He also understands that, as a married couple, he will now sleep with Layton Lewis; thus, he was not surprised to see Layton by his side when he awoke.
"What time is it?"
"It’s only 6:40 a.m. You can still sleep if you want to," Layton said indulgently.
Ryzel shook his head.
He was sleepy a while ago, but now he is wide awake and unable to fall asleep again.
Ryzel slept around 2 a.m. and woke up at 6:40 a.m. which was already enough for him. He was already accustomed to sleeping late and waking up early due to the research and other assignments he needed to do.
Sleeping for a few hours was quite common for him. When he needed data for his research, he would even stay at the school laboratory and sleep for at least 30 minutes.
So, resting for a couple hours is nothing to him. He had been mentally exhausted for the past few weeks, so as soon as his main concern was resolved, he fell asleep peacefully.
He slept so soundly that he didn’t even wake up when he was carried around and slept in a different location.
Ryzel took another look around the bedroom. He noticed that the room had nearly nothing other than what was required for a bedroom. There was nothing else in the room but the bed, bedside tables, cloth cabinets, and a few things on the wall.
If Layton Lewis hadn’t said it was his bedroom, he would have assumed it was a guest room. He can’t find any personal touches in the bedroom that would suggest it was Layton Lewis’ room.
When a person lives in the same place for an extended period of time, his or her personal touches are unavoidable. However, the room he was currently in was extremely sparse.
"Is this really your bedroom?" Ryzel finally inquired, as he couldn’t find any personal touches in the room.
"Yes, this is indeed my room. Why?"
"If this is your room, why is it so empty?" Ryzel spoke while still looking around the room.
"This is indeed my house here in the Capital Star, but I only come here a few times. I stayed all year round in the army and when I’m here in the Capital Star I often stayed in my parent’s house to visit them. I only stayed here a few times."
Layton Lewis, the Federation’s God of War, frequently makes headlines. It is clear that he frequently stays in the frontlines. Thus, he does not have time to stay in the Capital Star for long, so it is natural that his room does not contain his personal items as the owner.
"I see, so that’s why you don’t have personal items in your room."
"Can I change anything here?" Ryzel asked.
He appreciated the minimalistic design, but he didn’t like the colors in the room. He preferred brighter colors around him. He also wanted to alter the bed and pillows, opting for softer and more comfy bedding.
"Yes, of course. This is our home from now on, so you can change anything here."
Hearing Layton Lewis’ response, he also leaned against the bedside wall, intending to shop for items for the bedroom.
"Aren’t you hungry? Do you want to eat first?" Layton Lewis inquired after seeing Ryzel activate his light brain.
"No, I’m still full; we can eat later."
Ryzel didn’t feel hungry yet because they had eaten before leaving for home in the morning. It was only a few hours, and he also slept after eating, so he wasn’t hungry yet.
"Okay, I’ll let you browse your light brain first, but we need to eat at eight o’clock, even if you don’t feel hungry," Layton said.
Ryzel nodded his head while turning on his light brain.
When he saw the notifications on his light brain, he was shocked.
His light brain displayed 999+ messages and 103 calls.
"Huh?! What happened?
What’s the deal with all these messages and calls?"
"It should be because our marriage was already known by everyone," Layton Lewis said.
"So fast?"
Ryzel anticipated that everyone would find out he was married to Layton Lewis, but he expected it to take at least a day.
