CHAPTER 32: CHAPTER 31: EATING BREAKFAST PREPARED BY THE GENERAL, PART 2

"I learned it when I’m still young. My father said that as a sentinel, I needed to learn how to cook so that I could cook for my future partner."

"Your father also knows how to cook?"

"Yes, it seems that all the sentinels of the Vespertine family needed to know how to cook.

As soon as I awakened as a sentinel, my father started teaching me how to cook whenever he had time.

He said that it is considered one of Vespertine’s family traditions. We needed to learn to cook for our future partners."

"I see. Then does that mean you are only cooking for me?" Ryzel asked curiously.

"Yes, of course. You are my partner, so I should be cooking for you," Layton Lewis answered seriously.

After hearing his answer, Ryzel didn’t ask anything anymore and just observed how Layton cooked.

He doesn’t have any expectations from this marriage, but being treated well still makes him a little bit happy.

After fifteen minutes, Layton finished cooking.

"I’m done cooking. Let’s go to the dining room," Layton said while carrying some dishes with him.

"Ok, let’s go," Ryzel said while getting two dishes and following Layton Lewis to the dining room.

Ryzel put the dishes on the dining table and planned to go back to the kitchen to get the rest of the dishes, but he was stopped by Layton Lewis.

"No need; I can handle it. Just wait for me," Layton Lewis said, and went to get all the dishes left inside the kitchen.

Ryzel sat down on the chair, waiting for Layton Lewis to get the rest of the dishes.

Everything on the table looked appetizing. Most of the dishes were vegetable dishes, and only a few had meat dishes on them.

Looking at the dishes on the table, Ryzel immediately knew that the food on the table was made for his taste.

"Ok, let’s eat before anything gets cold," Layton Lewis said as soon as he sat down. He served some dishes on Ryzel’s plate before putting some on his plate.

Ryzel first tasted the dishes and was surprised that they were all very delicious.

He thought that Layton Lewis just knew how to cook, but he didn’t think the taste of the dishes was very delicious.

The taste can even be compared to that of those expensive restaurants outside. It can even be said to be more delicious.

"It’s delicious! General Layton, you can already open your own restaurant," Ryzel praised.

If Layton Lewis wasn’t a general, he could really open his own restaurant. He could be sure that he would earn a lot, as the taste of his dishes was really great.

Unfortunately, he was currently a general, so he wouldn’t even have time to open a restaurant.

"I don’t need to open a restaurant; it is enough for me to just cook for you," Layton Lewis said with a doting smile.

"General Layton, don’t forget what you said; from now on, I will rely on your cooking," Ryzel said, fully accepting what Layton Lewis said.

Before Ryzel slept yesterday, he fully accepted that he was married to General Layton Lewis. He prepared himself to accept whatever treatment he would receive from his partner.

He doesn’t have much expectation in his marriage, so he just thought he could just go with the flow of how their relationship would develop.

That’s why he doesn’t have any burden of receiving the generous treatment from General Layton Lewis.

He praised how delicious the food was and continued eating with relish. Because of the taste of the food, Ryzel ate more than he usually ate.

Ryzel was stuffed. He ate more than usual, which is why it seems that he can hardly move.

"Oh, I’m stuffed," Ryzel said while touching his stomach and sitting relaxed on his seat.

"You ate more than what you ate yesterday. You can just relax a little and wait a bit until you can feel that you can already stand," Layton Lewis said.

"I know," Ryzel said while still caressing his stomach.

"Do you want me to carry you to the living room? It would be easier to relax while sitting on the sofa."

"No need. I can just sit here for a few minutes before going to the sofa," Ryzel said, rejecting Layton’s offer.

"Okay, sit here first," Layton Lewis said while arranging the plates on the table.

After cleaning the dining table, Layton Lewis sat down on the chair again.

"Ryzel, my friend will be visiting later this afternoon; are you okay with it?" Layton asked.

"I don’t mind," Ryzel said.

He knew that Layton’s friend was probably curious about him; that’s why he wanted to visit.

Ryzel doesn’t mind because Lyre also sent him a message asking him if he could visit him. He knew that his friend was both curious and worried.

"Okay. If you are uncomfortable with him later on, be sure to tell me."

"Sure. My friend also said he wanted to visit me this afternoon; is that okay?" Ryzel asked back.

"Yes, it’s okay."

"That’s great! So can I send my current location to my friend?" Ryzel asked, as it is related to the privacy of General Layton Lewis.

"Yes, of course," Layton Lewis readily agreed.

As soon as Layton Lewis agreed, Ryzel brought out his light brain and sent his current location to Lyre.

"Can you introduce something about your friend a bit?" Ryzel asked after sending a message to Lyre.

Ryzel doesn’t want to give a bad impression to Layton Lewis’ friend, so he wanted to know something about him.

He wanted to know how to get along with Layton Lewis’ friend, so he wanted to know something about the person.

"You should have known him. He is my current adjutant, Mervin.

You can just treat him normally. You don’t need to treat him carefully.

As long as you treat him sincerely, everything will be okay.

He is also a bit gossipy, so if you are uncomfortable later, just stop him yourself or just tell me," Layton Lewis explained.

Ryzel nodded.

Ryzel indeed knew about Layton’s adjutant, Mervin.

He can be considered one of the brains of Layton Lewis’ army. His fighting ability was very high, but he rarely fought himself as long as someone else could still fight.

If there was no special situation, Mervin remained inside the warship and controlled the flow of the battlefield together with Layton Lewis.

According to Lyre’s brother, Mervin was the one dealing with politics for the army.

He is also responsible for the logistics of the army.

So even if his fighting ability was great, he mostly dealt with the affairs of the whole army, aside from General Layton Lewis.

Luke also said that a lot of people doubted Mervin’s fighting capability because they couldn’t see him on the battlefield.

To satisfy their curiosity and clean up his name, Layton Lewis once ordered him to lead the army himself.

The people who doubted his capability were all silent as they saw how high his performance was.

Then, finally, they don’t have any qualms about his true position in Layton Lewis’ army. Mervin was actually a lieutenant general, so a lot of people who didn’t know his capabilities were dissatisfied at first when they didn’t know how capable he was.

Lyre’s brother also said that Mervin would use anything at his disposal to know something he wanted to.

According to him, Mervin was a very capable sentinel, but he was shameless and gossipy.

From the information he has, he doesn’t have to be worried about how to deal with Mervin later on.

He was already accustomed to dealing with someone gossipy, as his friend Lyre was also very gossipy, so he doesn’t have to worry about how to deal with Mervin.

"What about your friend?" Layton Lewis asked, as if he still didn’t know the friends of Ryzel.

"You saw him yesterday. His name is Lyre. He is a very good friend of mine, but he can be a bit noisy. He is also very gossipy." Ryzel describes Lyre in a very brief way.

"You also don’t need to be cautious in dealing with him. He is a big fan of yours, so I’m sure he is very excited to meet you. Lyre might even ask for an autograph," Ryzel added.

Ryzel knew that his friend was going to visit, primarily to check on himself, but it is also true that Lyre was a big fan of General Layton Lewis.

He knew that, according to his friend’s personality, as long as he saw that he was in good condition and didn’t have any problems, he would immediately shift his focus to his male god.

Ryzel knew that Lyre would try to get more gossip about themselves after checking his condition.

With his friend’s nature, he thought that if the time of his visit coincided with Layton’s friend Mervin, they should get along well because of their personalities.
