After Breaking Up, I Married the General
Chapter 46 - 45: Tour Around the Capital Star 2
CHAPTER 46: CHAPTER 45: TOUR AROUND THE CAPITAL STAR 2
"Lyre, Sir Mervin we are done changing, we can go now."
After hearing Ryzel, Lyre and Mervin, who are still talking, turned to look at them.
"Wow! they are indeed a match made in heaven," Mervin said.
"Yes indeed our fellow citizens do really have discerning eyes. They are all saying that both of them are a match made in heaven. Now that I am looking at them, when they are walking together they really do match each other. Their 93% compatibility is really not a joke," Lyre added.
"Lyre what did you just say again?" Mervin suddenly turned to look at Lyre.
"Huh? They are a match made in heaven?"
"Not that, I want to ask what is their compatibility rate?" Mervin clarified.
"Huh? didn’t you know? Their compatibility rate is 93%."
Lyre just felt the just of wind then he saw Mervin who should be in front of Lyre appear in front of Layton Lewis.
"D*amn you Lewis! Why didn’t you say something that important?" Mervin said while jabbing his fingers at Layton Lewis.
"You didn’t ask about it," Layton Lewis answered nonchalantly while removing Mervin’s fingers on his shoulder.
"Do you even need me to ask about it? as a friend, shouldn’t you share such important news with me?" Mervin said while acting as if he was deeply hurt about it.
"Why should I? You’ll know it eventually."
"Yes, I would know it but I would know it by the time everyone learns about it. Doesn’t that mean you just don’t treat me as a friend?" Mervin said while continuing to act hurt.
"There is no benefit for you even if you know it first. So could you stop your acting already?" Layton Lewis said coldly.
Mervin turned to Ryzel and Lyre who were enjoying the spectacle and said, "I’m sorry Ryzel and Lyre, he just has some convulsions sometimes but on other times he remains normal."
"D*mn you Lewis, you are even trying to destroy my reputation now?"
"What reputation are you even talking about? Both of them have already seen you embarrassing yourself."
"What embarrassing myself? I am training don’t you understand? You are really hurtful, as a friend you can’t even understand me?" Mervin said with an expression and sound like he is really hurt by Layton Lewis’ indifference.
"Stop, and don’t start again or you won’t have any peaceful nights," Layton Lewis ordered.
"Okay, I’ll stop now. At any rate you should have told me about the news sooner. Anyway, congratulations on having a high compatibility rate!"
"Ryzel and Lyre please don’t mind what you saw a while ago. I am just practicing my acting skills as I plan to be an actor once I retire.
"Oh you plan to be an actor?" Ryzel asked for confirmation as there are very few sentinels who would even venture in the entertainment industry.
"My dream has always been to be an actor but because of how talented I am, I need to do my share of work as a fellow citizen of this federation which is always attacked by Zergs.
So I can only practice my acting skills with Lewis and be an actor after my retirement.
It would even be better if those Zergs are annihilated already then I could enter the Entertainment industry earlier," Mervin said while smiling helplessly.
"Oh we don’t actually mind. I even think your acting is good," Ryzel said seriously.
"Yes, I think you’re good. Why don’t you practice with me sometimes? I am very talented when it comes to acting," Lyre said boastfully.
"Yes, Lyre you are indeed good at acting but you are only good at acting because you want to escape your punishments when you are causing trouble," Ryzel exposed Lyre immediately.
"But I am still considered a good actor right?"
"Well yes, you are good at acting innocent and deceiving others when you cause any trouble. So don’t even think of acting, you are just going to cause more problems.
"It’s better for you to focus on your potion making or on your musical instruments instead." Ryzel stated.
"Okay, let’s continue while going out," Ryzel said while he started walking out for Lyre to follow.
Layton Lewis and Mervin also followed walking behind them.
"Yeah I know, I just wanted to try acting too," Lyre said while following Ryzel.
"Huh? You still want to try acting? Aren’t you satisfied with acting everytime you are in trouble? It is better for you to focus on your musical talent," Ryzel said.
Ryzel didn’t want to support Lyre’s decision in trying to be an actor because if he learned more acting skills the trouble he would cause would be greater.
He knew that Lyre wasn’t afraid of causing trouble but he doesn’t want Lyre to suffer later on because of the troubles he is causing.
That’s why he doesn’t want to support Lyre in becoming an actor because even if it is just a whim he would still learn something which would greatly increase his skills in causing trouble.
"Okay. I know," Lyre said.
"Lyre you know how to play musical instruments?" Mervin asked.
"Yes he does," Ryzel answered for Lyre.
"Lyre, what instrument do you play?" Mervin asked.
"I know how to play a lot of instruments. Playing the piano, flute, guitar, violin, and others isn’t a problem for me," Lyre answered confidently.
"Wow! you’re really talented if you know how to play with a lot of instruments," Mervin said.
In the present interstellar era playing musical instruments is rarely seen and practiced.
Most people rely on synthesizing music online. That’s why most people aren’t interested in playing musical instruments.
"Yes, he really is very talented. He could also use those instruments to transmit his mental power," Ryzel added.
Lyre who is talented in playing a lot of instruments can be said to be very rare. And as a guide Lyre could even transmit his mental power while playing instruments which is even rarer.
"If Lyre could do that why haven’t we heard about it?" Mervin asked while looking at Ryzel and Lyre.
Ryzel also knew why he was asking about it. Lyre’s talent to transmit his mental power to instruments is very rare.
A lot of people should be coveting it but until now there was actually no news about it. Even if Lyre’s family tried to conceal it there should still be some news about it.
"Well I don’t really play instruments when other people are around so no one knows about it except for my family and a few friends of mine. Also I just discovered that I can transmit my mental power through playing instruments a year ago," Lyre answered.
"Now that you mentioned it, It is indeed my first time hearing that you are talented in playing musical instruments," Mervin mentioned.
"Haha I just played when people are not around so of course there won’t be a rumor about it," Lyre said while averting his eyes.
"Actually he was just lazy. He doesn’t have much passion in playing instruments, he was just really talented that he can learn them easily even without a proper teacher.
So it’s not surprising that no one knows that he could play instruments. If I didn’t see him playing one time I might not even know it until now," Ryzel revealed.
The first time he saw Lyre playing an instrument was when he was really sad because his pet died.
Afterwards, Ryzel became aware that Lyre was really talented as he can play various musical instruments without even a proper teacher.
Lyre was really talented but he doesn’t have much passion for it. Most of the time he only played instruments to calm down his emotions.
He never played instruments in public as he often played them when his emotions are unstable so the ones that knew he could play instruments were very few.
"O, Lyre you’re more talented than I thought. You even learned how to play instruments without a proper teacher. Then how did you learn how to transmit your mental power while playing instruments? Don’t tell me you also learned it on your own?" Mervin said.
"Speaking of how I know how to do that, it is actually because of Ryzel," Lyre said while looking at Ryzel.
"How so?" Mervin asked.
"At that time we suddenly got homework from our instructor regarding potions. We are assigned to discover and try to channel our mental power in the potion.
I was really having a hard time because I don’t know much about it either.
Ryzel at that time actually already knew how to channel his mental power in the potions so I asked him to teach me how to do it.
I finally asked for his help because no matter how I follow the instructions given by the instructor and following the coaching videos online I still can’t channel my mental power to the potion I am making," Lyre said.
While Lyre was starting his story the aircraft automatically controlled by Layton Lewis arrived in front of them.
