CHAPTER 112: CHAPTER 112: MEMORIES (12)

Ethan looked at the trends and bought some favorable stocks on the market for her, spending seventy to eighty thousand. If the response was good, she could double her earnings.

The next day, Florence quietly brought a few books to find him.

Ethan was slightly surprised.

"Investing for Beginners"

"How to Become a Business Tycoon"

"The Grand Theory of Economics"

"Investment Analysis Method"

"I specifically went to the bookstore to buy these, showing my sincerity in learning," Florence said proudly.

Ethan chuckled, "Really going to study?"

"Yeah, I definitely want to have money," Florence said determinedly.

Ethan rubbed his forehead, smiling helplessly.

"Don’t laugh, who are you looking down on!" Florence glared at him, "As long as I want to learn, there’s nothing I can’t master."

Ethan felt that Florence adapted to her situation very quickly. The Fuller Family didn’t allow her to continue playing the violin, so she looked for another path on her own instead of wasting time here.

He had a look of appreciation, "Maybe later on... we can even work together."

Florence smiled, "Are you going to lead me to make big money?"

Ethan: "..."

Half a month later, Abigail returned. Florence was overjoyed to see her. Later, when Abigail heard that she wasn’t learning the violin anymore, her brows furrowed.

But compared to Florence’s biological parents, she really couldn’t intervene in this matter.

She could only feel regretful.

What a pity for such a promising talent.

The Fuller Family’s villa was to be renovated and restructured, so Laura asked her to pack her things and the family to stay elsewhere. Florence was reluctant to stay under the same roof as her and Clara, so she said she wanted to move to the Monrose Family.

Laura was already not pleased with her closeness to Abigail and flatly refused, but Florence paid no heed to her words and proceeded to pack her things, calling Abigail to explain the situation.

Abigail immediately agreed, asking what she needed so she could buy and arrange them. Laura was furious and snatched the phone, "Ms. Monrose, Florence is still part of our family. It’s one thing for her to occasionally trouble you, but moving in with your family permanently—her personality might not be to your liking."

Abigail chuckled lightly, "Mrs. Fuller, this girl has been visiting my home on and off for over two years now. How could I not understand her personality? I’ve never seen a girl as lively and clever as her. It seems you don’t quite know your own biological daughter."

Laura secretly gritted her teeth and glanced at Florence in displeasure.

"I remember your other daughter is preparing for some kind of piano master’s competition, right? You’ll have to accompany her abroad for exams. Florence will be alone then, so she might as well come over now."

Laura remembered how she was pulling every string to get Clara a chance with an internationally renowned piano master, hoping Clara could study under him.

The master said he’d take the student if she won his competition, so they’ve been closely overseeing Clara’s piano practice.

Florence seized the phone and looked at Laura, "You should focus on Clara, I don’t need your worries."

"Abigail must have ulterior motives in being kind to you," Laura said, "probably wanting you to marry her lame son later on."

Florence’s gaze sharpened as she looked at her, "What did you say?"

Clara promptly stepped in, "Florence, Mom’s saying this for your own good. She hopes you marry a healthy person in the future."

"And who are you calling unhealthy!" Florence glared at her, "Are you healthy? In what way? You’ve switched well-known piano teachers since childhood yet can’t get into your desired school, requiring special connections with a master. Is that your version of health?"

Florence’s words were a blatant insult to Clara.

Clara’s expression fell as she seemed on the verge of tears, "You..."

"Am I wrong?" Florence said coldly, "Is your little scheming what makes you healthy?"

"Florence!" Laura immediately shielded Clara behind her, "Do you dare to speak this way just because your father isn’t home?"

"Not at all," Florence retorted sarcastically, "When he gets angry, you don’t even dare to breathe. But the moment he leaves, you put on this act. What, do you think you can show off your authority over me?"

Laura’s expression was strained, "The Shaw Family raised you to be like this."

"This isn’t my usual self; I became like this only after coming to the Fuller Family!"

Indifference, disregard.

This is what the Fuller Family left me with.

Laura pointed at her, her hand trembling with anger, "Florence, I truly... How did I end up having a daughter like you?"

Florence collected her bag and walked around Laura, leaving the house.

Abigail was at home waiting for her to come over. She didn’t bring much, knowing the Monrose Family had some of her clothes. Bringing her stuff made Abigail very happy.

Although she occasionally stayed at the Monrose Family, staying for a month or two this time was entirely different.

"Did you come because you had an argument with your mom?" Abigail knew about the Fullers’ situation, so she rarely asked Florence about her parents.

"No," Florence replied without looking up.

"Your mom transferred me some money, saying it was for you to stay here." Abigail could sense Laura’s reluctance from the tone used.

Her biological daughter had returned, yet instead of making up for lost time and showing love, she tirelessly made sure the adopted daughter was taken care of.

It’s been over two years since she returned, but nobody outside knew the Fuller Family’s biological daughter was back.

This was indicative of the Fullers’ attitude toward Florence.

And now, with great opportunities for Florence’s future at hand, the Fuller Family readily cut them off, unwilling to let her go abroad.

Are they short of money? Hardly.

Abigail considered one possibility.

A forced alliance.

The Fuller Family isn’t well-known among the elite in Cloudsea City, operating their business lukewarmly. With two daughters at home, Abigail could think of no other reason.

She slightly furrowed her brows.

In that case, the situation for Florence wasn’t favorable!

"She gave it to you, so just take it!" Florence raised an eyebrow slightly.

"Of course, I’ll take it. Then I can buy you more clothes later," Abigail said, pulling her along, "How about we have dinner together tonight, you know Eleanor?"

"Yes, I do."

"She’s been selected by a renowned foreign university as an exchange student and is about to go abroad. I’ve been watching her grow over these years, let’s celebrate for her tonight."

Florence nodded, "Sure."

Abigail looked at her, "You could certainly do the same in the future..."

Florence shook her head, "My dad won’t let me go abroad. I can guess that for university, it’ll probably have to be domestic. But it’s fine, no matter what he tries to use to confine me, he cannot keep me trapped forever."

One day, she will tear apart the cage Michael Fuller placed around her.

Abigail’s eyes were filled with gratitude and admiration.
