CHAPTER 158: CHAPTER 158: MEMORIES (58)

"Hmm."

Ethan Harper went to take a shower, and after a while, Florence Fuller also went to take a shower.

She changed into her pajamas and came out of the bedroom to find Ethan Harper in his room.

Pushing the door open, Ethan Harper, wearing a bathrobe, looked at her with a laptop in front of him.

He saw Florence Fuller’s wet long hair and thought she was asking him to blow-dry it: "I’ll go get..."

"Come sleep in my room," Florence Fuller said.

Ethan Harper was stunned.

"Come on," Florence Fuller looked at him.

They had slept together before, but it was just a nap.

Truly sharing a bed had never happened; ever since he had a room at the Starlight Residence, they’ve been sleeping in separate rooms.

Florence Fuller felt it was enough.

She was craving him a lot.

Also annoyed by his damn self-control.

"I’ll change into pajamas."

"Hurry up," Florence Fuller looked at him, "You still need to blow-dry my hair."

"I’ll be quick."

Ethan Harper came over after changing into pajamas. After her long hair was dry, Florence Fuller lay on the bed looking at her phone, while Ethan Harper, on the other side, was handling work on his computer.

Drowsiness swept over, and she crawled under the covers, looking at Ethan Harper next to her: "Is there a lot of work?"

"It’s okay, I just need to handle an urgent email, ten minutes."

Her bed was very big, Florence Fuller turned off the sleep light on her side, then moved closer to Ethan Harper, breathing in the comforting scent from him, sleep overcoming her: "Call me at seven in the morning, I have a class at nine."

Ethan Harper lowered his gaze to her quiet and gentle profile, softly saying, "Sleep now."

Florence Fuller murmured, "Good night."

Ethan Harper, his dark eyes filled with warmth, leaned down and kissed her cheek, "Good night, my Florence."

Florence Fuller’s lips curled up in a smile, lingering into her dreams.

_

Campus life was busy and fulfilling. Ethan Harper’s work recently was also very busy, but fortunately, they lived together, so even if their schedules were staggered, there was always a time to meet.

Florence Fuller only had two classes today and went to pick up the customized watch for Ethan Harper after her classes.

As his gift.

Looking at the customized watch, Florence Fuller inexplicably recalled her first birthday with the Monrose Family not long after she arrived there when Abigail Monrose celebrated with her.

Though there were few people, the atmosphere was great.

She had cake and gifts.

She was very happy.

Later, when she gave Abigail Monrose a birthday gift, she asked about Ethan Harper’s birthday, and Abigail told her that Ethan didn’t celebrate birthdays.

She asked why.

Abigail then smiled and said, "Because of his father’s sake, he doesn’t like it and is very averse to it."

Florence Fuller seemed to understand, so she never mentioned his birthday in front of Ethan Harper, but throughout the year, she would give him one or two gifts.

But this man loved watches, all kinds of watches.

She put the box in her bag, took her car keys, and headed to the parking lot. As she walked next to her car, she vaguely sensed something was wrong.

The next second, several tall and strong men got out of a business car on the opposite side of her car, rushing towards her aggressively.

Florence Fuller had no time to close her car door before one of the men in black grabbed it, and she cautiously asked, "Who are you?"

The leading man looked at her, "Are you Florence Fuller?"

Florence Fuller didn’t speak, forcefully pulling the car door he held.

"Sorry." The man forcefully pulled open the door and yanked her out with one hand.

"Apologies."

In the next moment, a sharp pain shot through her neck, and before she fell unconscious, she saw the syringe being pulled out.

Her entire body fell powerlessly to the ground.

"Inform the sir first, then the young master," the leading man said.

The subordinate behind went to make the call.

Florence Fuller didn’t know how long she slept, but when she opened her eyes, she saw Ethan Harper.

Her body felt no discomfort, as if she had just slept, but Ethan Harper looked at her with eyes full of tension and worry, and seeing her awake, he immediately approached, "How are you, Florence, do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?"

Looking at his handsome but slightly haggard face, with red veins in his eyes, she reached out, and Ethan Harper took her hand, "Tell me if you feel uncomfortable."

"I’m okay."

Her throat felt a bit dry, and she licked her lips.

Ethan Harper quickly helped her sit up and handed her a glass of water.

Florence Fuller drank a large cup of water, handed it back to him, then moved her neck, feeling a slight sting in one spot.

She touched it; it was where the syringe had pricked her.

They had injected her with something, causing her to pass out immediately.

"Did something happen?" she asked Ethan Harper, "How long was I asleep?"

"A day and a night," Ethan Harper stood up, "Your body needs a comprehensive check-up again. I’ll go get the doctor."

Florence Fuller watched his departing back.

She lowered her gaze in deep thought.

The doctor checked her again, and it was not until the next day that she could leave this private hospital.

Back at the Starlight Residence, she watched Ethan Harper busy tidying things up, and called out to him.

Ethan Harper looked at her and asked with concern, "What’s wrong? Are you hungry? I’ll make you something to eat."

Florence Fuller shook her head and patted the spot next to her.

Ethan Harper put down what he held and sat beside her.

Florence Fuller hugged him, leaning into his embrace, "Did something happen?"

Having been together for so long, they could sense each other’s emotional changes.

For instance, now, even if Ethan Harper appeared normal, Florence Fuller could feel his unease.

Something must have happened while she was unconscious.

And those people who made her fall unconscious... what was their relationship with Ethan Harper?

Ethan Harper hugged her, slowly tightened his arms, and whispered after a long time, "The important thing is you’re okay."

"What happened?"

"The people who came for you..." Ethan Harper’s voice was a bit dry, his cheek pressed against Florence Fuller’s hair, "they were sent by my father from France."

Florence Fuller paused, thinking of Abigail Monrose, "What about Aunt Monrose? Is she okay?"

Speaking of which, after Abigail Monrose landed in France and checked in safely, Florence Fuller had sent her messages, but got very few replies.

"She’s fine, don’t worry," Ethan Harper said.

Florence Fuller looked up at him, "It’s okay, Ethan Harper, I’m fine now."

She comforted herself, but Ethan Harper’s heart trembled, knowing how anxious and scared he was when he received the news that Florence Fuller was under their control.

Arthur Harper was a cold-blooded and ruthless man, unyielding in his decisions.

He was someone who could casually discard his biological son, let alone when he noticed Florence Fuller, the feeling of his heart pounding with terror at that moment.

They told him it was a warning.

A warning? Hadn’t he already been abandoned by the Harper Family?

"What is your father’s purpose in doing this?" Florence Fuller asked.

Ethan Harper found it laughable too.

Because he was determined to be disabled, Arthur Harper had instantly given up on him, the rightful heir, turning his attention to his illegitimate children.

Now knowing his legs had recovered, a phone call was all it took to demand he return to France.
