After Divorcing the Tycoon, I Married into a Wealthy Family Again
Chapter 90: She Wants a Divorce
CHAPTER 90: CHAPTER 90: SHE WANTS A DIVORCE
The force of her push made him stagger back a few steps. He raised his eyes to see Florence Fuller walking away without hesitation, his heart aching with every beat.
It seemed he only realized now that when he used to flaunt his affairs in front of Florence Fuller, he was hoping Florence would feel the emotions he was experiencing now.
Jealousy, unease, sorrow...
Yet the one flooded with these emotions now is himself.
Luke Gardiner leaned against the wall, his face ashen.
____
Laura Yates’ response came faster than Florence Fuller expected; that evening, Lily Hart called her back.
"Ms. Yates said she’s made up her mind; she wants a divorce."
"Then first contact a top-notch lawyer in Cloudsea, one highly respected in the field. Discuss drafting a divorce agreement with them and try to secure as much rightful property as possible for her."
Lily Hart replied, "But it might be hard to fight for Ms. Yates’ side. If the grounds for divorce are a breakdown of relationship, we’ll need to collect evidence of his infidelity, and James has not admitted to anything yet."
Florence Fuller analyzed, "His infidelity is a fact. We can win, but it might take time. I think getting money out of the Fuller Clan will be difficult, especially with the Fuller Clan in dire straits now. He’s even less likely to divide the assets."
Lily Hart listened.
"For now, do what you can to secure as much as possible. He might not be able to hold out until the Fuller Clan recovers under him."
Lily Hart agreed, "Okay."
The lawyer acted swiftly, and a day later, the divorce agreement was delivered to Florence Fuller’s side. Florence took Laura Yates to find Michael Fuller.
The Fuller Clan is currently a mess; on the surface, the company seems well-run, but actually, it’s already fragmented.
As they entered the elevator, Laura Yates hesitated again and looked at Florence Fuller, "Can this marriage really end in divorce?"
Florence Fuller: "Do you not want to divorce?"
"It’s not that I don’t want to." Laura Yates pursed her lips, "You don’t understand your dad. He’s extremely selfish and won’t part with anything unless forced. Besides, the Fuller Clan is already like this."
"So you want to leave with nothing?" Florence Fuller asked her.
Laura Yates was speechless, "I don’t mean that, I’m just worried... it might trouble you."
"Trouble me?" Florence Fuller laughed coldly, "When you were asking for my help, you didn’t think it was troubling me. What you’re really afraid of is him! Afraid of his retaliation later."
Laura Yates lowered her head guiltily.
Ding——
The floor arrived, and the elevator doors opened slowly.
Florence Fuller remained still and spoke flatly, "You still have a chance to go back if you step out now. If not, we go back, or if you’re willing to leave with nothing, go back and I’ll deal with him for you. If not, let’s go find him now."
In the silence, the elevator doors closed slowly again.
Laura Yates stared blankly ahead, breathing heavily. She looked at Florence Fuller, "You... you’ll help me, right?"
Seeing her genuine fear, Florence Fuller made a guess, "He’s hit you."
Laura Yates tightened her grip on her bag strap, "He slapped me... before."
Florence Fuller’s eyes turned icy cold.
She pressed to open the elevator, her voice cold, "While I’m here, he can’t touch you."
Laura Yates’ eyes trembled softly; her grip on the bag loosened. It seemed she gained a bit more courage as she stepped out of the elevator first.
In the office, Michael Fuller and James Fuller wore worried expressions. Secretary Lane entered, but before speaking, they already caught sight of Florence Fuller.
Michael Fuller’s face turned fiercely hostile upon seeing her, "You still have the nerve to come!"
Unlike his anger, Florence Fuller remained coldly indifferent, "Of course."
"Insolent daughter!" Michael Fuller’s anger flared, "How could I have a daughter like you, joining others to harm our own family."
"You certainly don’t have a daughter like me." Florence Fuller stated, "Your daughter is Clara Fuller, not to mention such a big illegitimate son. As for me, I’m just an extra in the Fuller Family."
James Fuller glared at her viciously, "No matter what, you ate the Fuller family’s rice for several years, opening the door to sabotage your own family now. Do you think that’s appropriate?"
Florence Fuller’s expression turned sour as she stared at James Fuller, "What right do you have to talk to me? Your home? Who is aligned with you?"
James Fuller was left speechless with embarrassment, grinding his teeth in rage, "I’m warning you; don’t go too far."
Florence Fuller sneered contemptuously, as if she didn’t take him seriously at all, "I’m not the only one coming to see you today."
Michael Fuller assumed Luke Gardiner came along, his expression immediately becoming more restrained. However, it was Laura Yates who walked in, and his expression visibly darkened, "What now, come to cause more trouble?"
Laura Yates gritted her teeth, taking steps forward as she threw the document folder onto Michael Fuller’s desk.
Michael Fuller glanced at her unpleasantly and opened it. The glaring words "Divorce Agreement" came into view first.
He sneered darkly at Laura Yates before continuing to read further. Gradually becoming sinister and frightening, he finally slammed the divorce agreement onto the desk and stormed over to Laura Yates in a rage, "You really have the guts to demand such large assets from me, I...!"
As he spoke, he raised his hand. Laura Yates, in fear, turned her face away, ready to run, but Michael Fuller grabbed her back, not yet bringing down his hand when his head was suddenly hit by something, darkening his vision.
The bag fell to the ground, and Florence Fuller stood not far in front, her voice icy, "Let go!"
"What are you doing!" James Fuller stood up and went over to her side, harshly exclaiming, "You dare lay hands on your own father."
"Get lost!" Florence Fuller said impatiently, "What, he can hit women?"
"That’s his wife; even if they lay hands on each other, it’s not your daughter’s place to intervene," James Fuller fumed.
His words thoroughly disgusted Florence Fuller. Her eyes were filled with utmost disgust as she even felt talking to him was repulsive. She stepped forward, her gaze ominous towards Michael Fuller, "Let go and leave her alone!"
"You..." Michael Fuller, already aged, found himself dizzy, as the bag Florence Fuller threw at his head had some weight to it with items inside, leaving him in pain and dizzy.
"A rebellious daughter, huh?" Florence Fuller bent over and helped Laura Yates up with one hand, who quickly retreated behind her.
"I can still do something even more rebellious, do you believe it?"
Michael Fuller’s trembling finger pointed at Florence Fuller, and James Fuller hurriedly stepped forward to steady him, "Dad, be careful of your health." After which, he viciously eyed Florence Fuller, "Thanks to you, the Fuller Clan’s situation is precarious now, and Dad even nearly ended up in the hospital. Now, you still dare lay hands on him, this is your upbringing!"
Florence Fuller looked at him, her smile cold and sinister, "I’ve tolerated you several times; you have no standing to speak here."
