After Divorcing the Tycoon, I Married into a Wealthy Family Again
Chapter 99 - 98: Leave or Not
CHAPTER 99: CHAPTER 98: LEAVE OR NOT
"Bang!"
Luke Gardiner snapped back to reality at the sound of the door slamming shut.
The room was full of silence and a sense of melancholy. He sat on the couch, bowed his head in pain, his hands running through his hair, filled with agony and discomfort.
Ethan Harper didn’t need to be hospitalized. Thomas Jones went to get the ointment prescribed by the doctor, and he could be discharged.
"I’ll take you first." Ethan Harper turned his head to look at her, "Are you going back?"
Florence Fuller shook her head, "You’re still staying at the hotel."
Ethan Harper responded with a hum.
The car was quiet for a while, and Florence Fuller sighed slightly, "Move to Starlight Residence."
Ethan Harper’s eyes lit up, a hint of joy in them, "Alright."
First, Ethan Harper was dropped off at the Starlight Residence, and Florence Fuller went to the Long Island Hotel.
She initially told Laura Yates she’d be there in an hour, but she got delayed and ended up giving her a big surprise.
Clara Fuller stiffened when she saw Florence Fuller suddenly enter, "Florence, why did you come in suddenly without knocking."
Florence glanced at Laura Yates, who was looking at Clara Fuller, "I paid for this suite. What’s the matter? Can’t I come in?"
"That’s not what Clara meant." Laura Yates came out, trying to be the peacemaker.
Florence looked at her with annoyance, "You really are protective of her, keeping silent and hiding when things went wrong, and now that it’s mostly resolved, you speak up and protect her. I’ve been doing everything for you, and this act of yours is really disappointing."
Laura Yates’s face turned pale, "I didn’t mean it that way..."
Clara Fuller cut in, "I was filming out of town, there’s no internet there, I knew nothing about these things!"
"Stop pretending!" Florence ruthlessly exposed her, "You’ve always been in SJ, never left. She’s the one you tricked back here, don’t think I don’t know you’ve been in touch with that illegitimate child."
Upon hearing this, Laura Yates looked at Clara Fuller in shock, "Clara!"
"Mom!" Clara Fuller showed a hint of panic but looked very calm, "Don’t listen to Florence’s nonsense, I didn’t!"
Laura Yates looked at her sincere expression and then at Florence’s icy face, undecided.
Florence didn’t bother to say more. She took out the divorce agreement, looking at Laura Yates, "He’s already signed it. Will you sign it or not?"
Laura Yates hesitated, her expression showing uncertainty.
Florence understood immediately.
Clara Fuller walked over briskly, trying to take the divorce papers from Florence’s hands, but Florence avoided her with a slight dodge.
Clara Fuller looked displeased, "Mom said she’s not planning to divorce."
Florence looked at her coldly, "Did you brainwash her again?"
"What brainwash!" Clara Fuller argued, "I just analyzed it with mom, not divorcing, she still remains Mrs. Fuller, and the life afterwards..."
"What Mrs. Fuller." Florence interrupted her, looking at Laura Yates, "Mrs. Fuller, being ordered around like a maid by that illegitimate child’s mom?"
Laura Yates stood in place, her expression conflicted, "Clara said... your dad would handle that woman, won’t appear in front of me again, I could continue living as before."
Florence really felt infuriated by her so-called biological mother’s intentions.
A belly full of anger was stuck in her heart, making all her previous efforts seem worthless.
She was still wondering why Michael Fuller was so adamantly refusing to split the divorce agreement before, and then suddenly turned around and signed the agreement first.
Turns out Clara Fuller was there.
Clara Fuller managed to change Laura Yates’s mind about not getting divorced with a few words.
It all ended up being her wasted effort.
"Then let me ask you!" Florence raised the divorce agreement in her hand, "Right now! This marriage! Are you ending it or not!"
Laura Yates looked conflicted between Florence and Clara Fuller.
"What’s missing on here now is just your signature." Florence continued.
Laura Yates twisted her hands, "Clara already brought back my documents, my cards are... restored..."
The meaning is...
"Not ending it, is that it?" Florence asked.
Looking at her cold gaze and daunting presence, Laura Yates stammered, "N... not ending it... now."
Florence let out a cold laugh, raised her hand, and tore the divorce agreement in half. Laura Yates clutched at her heart, looking pitifully at Florence, "Florence, mom knows you’ve been running around for this issue for a long time... but Clara said the company could still be saved... not divorcing is actually better, could get Fuller Family’s assets..."
"Whatever she says, you just go along with!" Florence snapped coldly, she was already quite angry, "Just let her fool you, crying and pleading, why didn’t she come when you needed her before then? I’m stupid enough to still help you despite what you did to me because of her."
Florence looked at Clara Fuller, who smiled back at her with a victorious and satisfied grin.
"From now on, rely on this daughter of yours." Florence’s gaze was deep and dark as she looked at Laura Yates, "Don’t bother coming to me anymore, we’re done!"
After she finished speaking, she turned and left. Laura Yates quickly followed, wanting to explain, but Clara Fuller held her back, "Mom, haven’t you figured it out yet? Florence just doesn’t want you to have an easy life. If you divorce, you won’t get a penny of Fuller Clan’s money. What she got for you in that divorce agreement is merely a drop in the ocean from dad."
"Dad already realized his mistakes, otherwise he wouldn’t have asked me to come. He hopes you’ll forgive him. He later said he’d reallocate some of his assets under your name, he’d make it up to you."
Laura Yates looked at her, "Really?"
"Absolutely!" Clara Fuller said earnestly, "You’ve been married for decades, there must be some feelings there, right."
Laura Yates nodded slowly.
Florence Fuller went downstairs, and the first thing she did was to check out of the room she had booked.
Back inside her car, her anger grew, regretting meddling in Laura Yates’s business initially.
In the end, Clara Fuller solved it all with a few light words.
She made a call to Christopher Fuller for a meeting. She had given Fuller Clan enough time, and she didn’t want to wait any longer.
Florence Fuller drove out of the hotel parking lot. At this moment, the roads were clear, with not much traffic.
At the traffic lights, she waited quietly, calculating what’s next for Fuller Clan in her mind, when suddenly her car was violently hit, and she lost consciousness.
___
Cloudsea City First Hospital.
The bright red words "In Surgery" were unnerving to look at.
Luke Gardiner and Ethan Harper arrived one after the other, Lily Hart came after them, and hurriedly made calls to SJ.
The two of them had a fight today, and now, after just a few hours, they met again. Luke Gardiner gritted his teeth looking at him, but refrained from acting out at the hospital.
Moreover, Florence Fuller was still inside the operating room.
