After my divorce, I started to have good luck

CHAPTER 543: CHAPTER 302: BACKFIRE_2
Chen Feng didn’t fuss about it, and just got into the taxi and left first.
This scene left the three women speechless. Generally, guys would at least make a show of politeness and decline a bit, but Chen Feng showed no restraint at all. He just left first, making the three of them still wait by the roadside for another cab late at night.
But, to be fair, Chen Feng had been gentlemanly at first, offering the seat to them, but they refused to take it. So they couldn’t blame Chen Feng.
Just after Chen Feng left, the three men finally arrived.
Song Ze looked upset, and seeing Chen Feng wasn’t there, he loudly complained, "This really feels like a nightmare, encountering such bad luck."
Du’er asked with concern, "How are those guys? They seemed to have been beaten pretty badly."
Song Ze sighed, "They’re asking me to compensate them, at least thirty thousand each. Damn, there goes my pocket money for next month."
Jin Xinyan frowned and said, "They’re really asking for too much. Thirty thousand each? Why don’t they just rob people? Who did you find?"
"They’re all from an outdoor club, and I happen to know two of them. Two of them have actually been to prison, to make it look more realistic, so I hired them. Who knew this would happen? I can’t avoid paying, they were beaten pretty badly and are in the hospital now." Song Ze said, feeling very troubled.
Everyone else listened and felt a bit sympathetic towards Song Ze.
Still, this consequence is largely Song Ze’s own fault. He’s the one who came up with the foolish idea of testing Chen Feng, Jin Xinyan’s boyfriend, to see what kind of person he really is.
Jin Xinyan initially opposed the idea but couldn’t resist when her friends all agreed, so she went along with it.
Hence, there was Du’er’s attempted seduction, followed by the saliva-spewing incident.
Du’er’s flirtation was obviously meant to test Chen Feng’s loyalty to Jin Xinyan, and hiring those five guys to act as though they intended to fight was to test Chen Feng’s courage, wisdom, and sense of responsibility.
Song Ze, as the chief planner and director of this test, worked diligently, putting in both money and effort, fully involved.
But the results were completely unexpected for him, leaving him very frustrated. He felt like he’d lost both the wife and the army.
In fact, ever since meeting Jin Xinyan, Song Ze had developed feelings for her but never dared to confess, partly because he knew Jin Xinyan was out of his league, and partly because he feared losing their friendship altogether.
The other two guys felt similarly, though their own conditions were even poorer compared to Song Ze, lacking the courage to confess to Jin Xinyan.
So when Chen Feng initially said they might be rivals in love, it wasn’t entirely wrong.
Song Ze’s enthusiasm for testing Chen Feng was largely due to jealousy.
"Who were those people just now? Are they gangsters?" Jin Xinyan curiously asked.
Song Ze shook his head and said, "In today’s society, where do we have gangsters? I just asked the bartender. He said those guys are likely friends of the bar owner, who runs a gym. The bar owner might have seen through the office security camera what was happening at the entrance and thought it was affecting his business, so he called his friends to come."
"That’s what happened. They’re unlucky, and so are you."
Jin Xinyan was amused but held back her laughter due to the current mood on site.
Feeling disheartened, Song Ze hoped for some good news and asked Du’er, "Du’er, what’s the situation on your end? Did Chen Feng take the bait?"
Du’er glanced at Jin Xinyan, who seemed calm, then sighed helplessly, "No, he behaved quite gentlemanly. Later, when I got too close, he even scolded me, made me lose face, hurt my self-esteem. Song Ze, Xinyan, you both owe me compensation."
Jin Xinyan secretly breathed a sigh of relief and smiled, saying, "I never asked you to test my boyfriend, you went willingly."
Another girl called Lu Lu joined in laughing, "Exactly, the task should have been mine. You insisted on taking it. And failed. I might have succeeded if it were me."
After speaking, she deliberately puffed out her chest, which was bigger and more prominent than Du’er’s.
However, her looks were rather plain, not as attractive as Du’er, and her charisma was significantly lacking too.
"Oh, come on! You think he’d be tempted by you? You’re just dreaming." Du’er expressed her displeasure.
Song Ze wore a skeptical face, "Are you really being honest? With your full-level amiability as such a cute girl, you’re a killer weapon against men; no man can remain unaffected."
"Believe it or not. I got a good scolding from him earlier, still feeling a bit aggrieved."
With that, Du’er stopped bothering with Song Ze, turning to Jin Xinyan saying, "Xinyan, I’m truly envious of you now. Your boyfriend genuinely seems admirable after my observation. He may be a bit older than us, but that’s good too, knowing how to take care of us girls, and being more understanding and accommodating."
Lu Lu pouted, "I think although he looks and behaves quite well, he’s still lacking somewhat. Not to mention his age. If he’s not worth billions, Xinyan’s family definitely wouldn’t approve."
Jin Xinyan chuckled and said, "The problem is, he is actually worth billions."
Lu Lu expressed some disbelief, "How do you know he really has a billion-dollar fortune?"
"I just know."
Actually, it’s easy to figure out, based on the current market value of Dianchuang Culture Company, calculating the value of Chen Feng’s shares, plus his film company’s market value, easily topping a billion. Not to mention unknown bank deposits and a real luxury villa.
Saying this, Jin Xinyan didn’t bother debating Lu Lu further, and switched the topic, "For the next period, I’ll be focusing on work. So, there’s less time to spend with you all. Try not to bother me without cause."
"Are you really going to work?" Song Ze asked in surprise.
Jin Xinyan scoffed, "Well, what do you think? Chen Feng entrusted me with a heavy responsibility at the company, and I’m a deputy general manager now, got to produce some results. Otherwise, I’d be letting down Chen Feng’s trust in me."
"I’m even more envious of you now." Du’er sighed, "Why couldn’t I have met him first? I want to be a company’s lady boss too."
