After Prison, She Shocks the World
Chapter 171: Qin Sheng Has Arrived
CHAPTER 171: CHAPTER 171: QIN SHENG HAS ARRIVED
Han Hui seemed to be nailed to the spot, as rigid as a mannequin.
Su He had someone move Li Hua down.
Han Hui watched as Su He took off his suit jacket and laid it over Li Hua’s face.
Jealousy surged in her heart.
Why hadn’t Su He appeared when she had endured such inhuman treatment?
Han Hui hurriedly ran toward Su He.
Just as she was about to plunge the short dagger into Su He’s chest, it was flicked away by Jian Lingyuan.
Jian Lingyuan’s indifferent eyes glared at her.
Then, his gaze shifted to the short dagger in her hand.
That was the type of short dagger Wu Shi commonly used.
If she used this dagger to kill someone, people would quickly associate it with Fu Bing.
By then, not only would Fu Bing’s relationship with the Su Family shatter instantly, but she would also be crushed to dust by public opinion.
The icy gaze instantly sobered Han Hui.
Han Hui realized she was becoming increasingly incapable of controlling her own body and mind.
Fu Bing had saved her, accompanied her during her most challenging times.
What exactly had she brought Fu Bing?
Han Hui fled the scene in a fluster.
Fu Bing watched as the stage returned to normal.
The spectators’ chatter faded away with the departure of Su He and Li Hua, as they continued their bloodthirsty and violent revelry.
Fu Bing said in a soft voice, "Let’s leave."
No matter how many times she came here, she never liked it.
Wu Shi accompanied her out, and they got back into the car.
He then spoke, "Do you think Han Hui is qualified?"
"She’s still better suited to being a gentle and quiet woman, living her simple and stable little life," Fu Bing replied. "She can’t control the situations she faces. Delving deeper would only implicate herself and others."
Wu Shi didn’t deny her judgment. "What are your thoughts?"
"Her next target is the Han Family. After she’s exacted her revenge, arrange for Shen Linxing to provide her with psychological counseling. If it’s possible to alter her memories, let her go to the Rong Family to rebuild new relationships and a new life."
What Han Hui did after that was none of her concern.
Her answer was within Wu Shi’s expectations.
"You could pin the Wu Shipyard incident on Han Hui, then fabricate news of her death one last time," Wu Shi suggested. "This way, she disappears completely after her usefulness has been maximized."
Fu Bing didn’t deny it. "That’s indeed a method that could help avoid many prying eyes, but Qin Sheng won’t fall for it. If the biggest fish doesn’t bite, this whole charade is meaningless. Instead of letting Han Hui become infamous under that identity, it’s better to give her a chance to live an ordinary life."
"You’re being too soft-hearted," Wu Shi commented. "You think you’re protecting her, but she might not appreciate it. She might even think you’re deliberately denying her opportunities and not giving her space to prove herself."
Fu Bing fell into deep thought.
This possibility wasn’t out of the question.
In the past, she had been very good to Li Qing, offering her all sorts of opportunities.
Hadn’t Li Qing also grown jealous of her, even hated her?
Just as Fu Bing was lost in thought, a sharp braking noise sounded, and her body suddenly lurched forward, hurling her towards the back of the driver’s seat.
As her face was about to hit the seatback, she closed her eyes.
A warm palm braced against the seatback.
Her face collided with the soft palm.
Warm, not painful.
She raised her eyes to the front.
The road was unlit by streetlights, illuminated only by the dazzling glare of two headlights.
The oncoming car had its high beams on.
An unprepared glance could cause temporary blindness.
Qin Sheng stepped out of the car, looking at Wu Shi and Fu Bing inside their vehicle.
He threw away the cigarette butt in his hand, lightly tapped it with the toe of his shoe, crushing out the glowing ember.
When Wu Shi saw Qin Sheng’s face, he said, "Your enemy has arrived!"
Fu Bing understood.
She got out of the car wearing anti-glare glasses.
Wu Shi followed closely behind her.
Qin Sheng’s gaze was locked on Wu Shi, but he addressed Fu Bing.
"You’ve got quite the nerve," he said.
Fu Bing ignored the taunt and initiated the conversation. "I hadn’t even sought you out, yet you’ve come to me."
Qin Sheng smiled leisurely. "Do you think that little ploy of yours can bring me down? Qin Jinhai struggled for so many years and yet was helpless against me. What makes you think you can?"
"Because to you, I’m just a stranger," Fu Bing replied. "Dealing with you is purely about revenge; there are no sentiments involved."
Indeed, Qin Jinhai’s temperament was truly unpredictable, and his actions often seemed erratic.
In truth, he had his own internal measure, and the Qin Family had once held a significant place in his heart.
It was precisely because they had been important that his actions were often constrained.
"What if I hold the secret of your birth?" Qin Sheng waited to see Fu Bing’s expression change. "Would you still dare to treat me with such an attitude?"
Fu Bing’s expression remained unchanged. "I have no particular desire for a group of estranged relatives. I’ve lived this long; if all that mattered was that tenuous blood tie, I’d rather not be alive."
She continued, "What difference would it make if I found them? If they cared about me, they wouldn’t have let me go missing for so many years without looking for me."
"If they don’t love me, why should I bother loving them?"
Su He’s car approached from a distance, arriving just in time to overhear this exchange.
His brooding eyes didn’t lift.
Fu Bing wasn’t Fu Ya’s daughter?
He couldn’t help but take a longer glance at Fu Bing.
Fu Bing, in her flowing dress, stood poised and independent between Qin Sheng and Wu Shi.
She wasn’t overtly sharp-edged, yet she effortlessly drew the gazes of others.
Su He fixated on Fu Bing’s profile.
And then he was startled.
That was exactly how his mother looked when she was young.
His gaze recoiled as if scalded, and he quickly looked away.
Su He commanded in a cold voice, "Drive on! Don’t get involved!"
"Yes, sir."
The driver had originally thought that since Fu Bing was a benefactor to the Su Family and had saved the master’s precious son, the master would be eager to return the favor.
But unexpectedly, the master showed no intention of lending a hand.
Su He’s car shot past them like an arrow.
A sarcastic smile curled on Qin Sheng’s lips. "Do you know who was in the car that just passed by?"
"I’m not particularly interested," Fu Bing replied.
"It was Su He," Qin Sheng said, not missing the chance to strike at her heart. "You saved three lives from the Su Family, and yet they still don’t want to save you."
"His ex-wife just died, so it’s normal for him to be too preoccupied with other matters," Fu Bing said, looking provocatively at Qin Sheng. "People who’ve been in prison aren’t so fragile. As for you, are you prepared to go to prison?
"I remember with perfect clarity every torment I endured during those three years of disastrous imprisonment.
"Just as you treated me three years ago, I will use the same methods to send you to prison. With Qin Jinhai gone, who will shield you? Qin Jinmo? Do you think he would help you?"
Qin Sheng retorted, "It seems your recent successes have clouded your judgment. Do you really think you’re powerful enough to trap me?"
"You’re too confident in your own abilities," Fu Bing’s voice remained steady. "If you weren’t panicking, why would you stir up so much trouble in such a short time? Qin Jinhai’s death disrupted your rhythm, and you still haven’t found a way to fill the void left by his absence. This period is the perfect time to deal with you."
She continued, "Qin Sheng, no matter how capable you are, you’re still just a man a few decades my senior. And being human means having weaknesses and making mistakes. You won’t last long."
Fu Bing’s words struck Qin Sheng’s heart like steel needles, the pain making him want to curse.
