CHAPTER 199: CHAPTER 199: DON’T WORRY, I’LL HANDLE IT

Azure Vaughn’s goal is to keep me and Ivan Underwood tied together, so that Henry Preston would give up.

Some people who like stirring trouble directly @Henry Preston, calling him to see what happened between his ex-wife and good friend, but it’s like he vanished into thin air, with no reaction.

I don’t care about these messy matters, as soon as I recovered a bit, I went straight back to work.

Back at the company, many people looked at me with strange eyes, but I just ignored them. Near the end of work, a delivery guy brought me a bouquet, the card signed Ivan Underwood.

Ivan Underwood called, "Off work yet? Want to have dinner together tonight?"

Since we’re already in a relationship, it’s hard to refuse, so I had to agree, "Okay."

After finishing work, I went home first, took a shower, changed clothes, and then hurried to the restaurant Ivan and I agreed on.

After chatting for about ten minutes, my heart grew heavier and heavier; just as I expected, Sean Lawson and Azure Vaughn were alright, it was Sean’s little henchmen who took the fall.

My mood plummeted and remained so until I saw Ivan Underwood.

"What’s wrong? Don’t want to have dinner with me?" Ivan asked, seeing my sour face, couldn’t help but pinch my cheek affectionately.

"No, I’m just lamenting how powerful Azure Vaughn is now; even as the victim, my charges can’t touch her." I sat down, sighing helplessly.

Ivan Underwood’s smile slowly faded, but then he gently comforted me, "It’s okay, I’ll handle it."

I asked in surprise, "How will you handle it?"

Ivan Underwood hardly ever relies on his family’s background, he just wants to be a simple doctor. Being a doctor is fine, but going against Azure Vaughn is tough.

Besides, the news about me and him was all over the internet, didn’t his parents see it?

I had previously promised his mother that I would try not to contact or see him, but it has come to this situation; I think the Underwood Family will be more displeased with me.

This means Ivan Underwood will face more pressure.

"Hmm, I’ll handle it." Ivan Underwood smirked, "Just have a good meal with me now, and don’t think about anything."

"Alright." I nodded, choosing to rely on Ivan Underwood.

I don’t know what method Ivan used, keeping his family calm and not coming to me, but I thoroughly enjoy this rare peace.

A somewhat normal relationship, a stable job, no one bothering me, and no need to bother others.

About a week later, I heard Sean Lawson had turned himself in, but he took all the blame, never implicating Azure Vaughn.

Intuition tells me this is Ivan Underwood’s doing.

Yet, I don’t know what method he used to make Sean, that damned cockroach, honestly surrender.

Soon I received a message from Ivan Underwood: Sean Lawson is handled, but Azure Vaughn is tricky, you will soon know the reason.

I was a bit puzzled, why not just tell me directly?
