CHAPTER 201: CHAPTER 201: CONSUMED BY JEALOUSY AND POSSESSIVENESS

Henry Preston’s seat was parallel to Ivan Underwood’s, just diagonally across from me. I could see he wasn’t very enthusiastic, keeping his head down the entire time while tapping busily on his phone, his long fingers darting across the screen. He seemed very busy and had no opinion on what to eat, saying, "Anything’s fine, just choose what you like."

"Okay!" Azure Vaughn didn’t mind Henry Preston’s indifference and skillfully ordered some of the dishes he liked, which surprised me a little.

Does she know Henry Preston that well? I thought I was the woman who understood him best in this world, since I’ve been revolving around him for ten years.

"What’s wrong? Don’t you like these dishes?" Ivan Underwood noticed I wasn’t eating much and asked gently.

"I just don’t like the red pepper rings in this," I said nonchalantly, poking at the handmade cuttlefish pasta on my plate.

Ivan Underwood glanced at me, then carefully picked out the red pepper rings from his own untouched cuttlefish pasta.

He often participates in surgeries, so his hands are always steady, his nails clean and healthy, holding the knife and fork with great elegance.

After picking out the pepper rings, he pushed the plate of pasta over to me, taking mine to eat instead.

"No, I’ve already eaten from that plate!" I quickly stopped him.

"It’s okay," Ivan Underwood said nonchalantly, taking a few bites without any sign of distaste.

I felt a little embarrassed, as I wasn’t actually averse to the red pepper rings; it was just a random excuse.

Since he didn’t mind that I had already eaten from it, how could I refuse his gentle attentiveness?

I kept my head down, eating the cuttlefish pasta, when suddenly Azure Vaughn spoke up beside me, "I just got my nails done and can’t peel shrimp."

Henry Preston’s voice sounded a few seconds later, indifferent, "Then I’ll peel it."

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Henry Preston take a shrimp and carefully peel the shell.

He was very focused, with a side profile boasting a strikingly high nose bridge and a perfectly taut jawline with no excess flesh. I recall he was once named by the media as the man with the most perfect side profile, rivalling the top male stars in the entertainment industry.

"Don’t look at other men when I’m around." Ivan Underwood noticed my distraction and lightly knocked on the table, seriously reminding me.

His voice was just the right volume for Henry Preston to hear, and Henry glanced over at us.

I sat upright, smiling honestly at Ivan Underwood, and stopped looking at Henry Preston.

Suddenly, I looked down at the steak on my plate, speared a piece with my fork, and fed it to Ivan Underwood, "The steak is delicious, want to try it?"

Ivan Underwood looked at me meaningfully, his eyes full of understanding, but he cooperated by taking the steak, savoring it, and then praised, "It’s indeed good. If you like it, we can come here again next time."

"Mm-hmm, as long as I’m eating with you, anything’s fine." I replied with a bright smile.

Upon hearing my words, Henry Preston sent over a gaze as cold as ice, which I felt but chose to ignore.

"Henry, are you not enjoying your meal? If not, we can go somewhere else," Azure Vaughn seemed to have noticed Henry looking at me several times and couldn’t help but ask.

"Change? This place is good." Henry’s voice suddenly grew cold, full of impatience.

Azure Vaughn glared at me reluctantly, and I returned the look, curling my lips disdainfully.

"Hmm, as long as you think it’s good." Azure Vaughan responded compliantly, but I could hear her dissatisfaction.

Her unhappiness was my greatest joy. I finished the last of my food and elegantly wiped my mouth, sweetly saying to Ivan, "Dr. Underwood should go back to work soon. I wouldn’t want you to be late because of me."

"Bang!"

Before Ivan Underwood could answer, a loud noise came from the side—Henry Preston slamming down his knife and fork.

His face was dark and stormy, as if the cutlery had a deep-seated enmity with him. After setting them down, he picked them up again and tossed them into the trash bin.

Azure Vaughn, sitting across from him, turned pale.

She bit her lip again, tears welling up in her eyes.

"Alright, I’ll do as you say, but I need to take you home first," Ivan Underwood said softly.

"Mm-hmm, let’s go." I stood up, continuing to act as if I hadn’t seen Henry Preston’s dark expression.

His jealousy and possessiveness weren’t my concern; we’re already done with each other. He has Azure Vaughn, and I have Ivan Underwood.
