Henry Preston stood not far away, dressed in a sleek and understated luxury suit, exuding the charm of a mature man as always.

He walked towards Azure Vaughn.

My mom immediately observed my reaction, and then a relieved expression appeared on her face.

"Thank you for taking the time to come despite your busy schedule." Azure reached out and took Henry’s arm, with Wendy Hawthorne on the other side, two major pillars on her left and right.

When she spoke to Henry, there was a clear tone of coquettishness in her voice.

Wendy Hawthorne also smiled at Henry, "It’s an honor for all of us at Celeste to have you here, Mr. Preston. Our little company shines with your presence."

"You’re too modest, Mr. Hawthorne," Henry replied flatly.

From their words and expressions, I saw only two words: hypocrisy.

At that moment, I saw Tiana O’Connell. She was wearing a petite suit, embodying the look of a strong woman, chatting and laughing with others.

"Mom, I’m going to find Tiana." I whispered to my mother and went over.

"Alright, go ahead." My mom nodded.

Tiana came with Simon Sinclair today, and their relationship was getting closer. When she saw me, she quickly distanced herself from Simon. I couldn’t help but tease, "Have you two gotten together yet?"

"Almost, kind of in the ambiguous phase," Tiana said with a rare show of shyness on her face.

"Not bad, you’re about to snag this handsome guy," I complimented, "your prospects are great."

Tiana’s eyes bloomed with joy, "The first spring in life!"

But why didn’t Ivan Underwood come today?

I searched the crowd for Ivan but couldn’t find him. His main job is still being a doctor, so he probably wouldn’t come.

However, I saw Ivan’s mother. When she noticed my gaze, she met my eyes, and her face suddenly turned cold.

"Zoe, you came on the wrong day..." Tiana suddenly said sympathetically, "Look to your right."

I looked to my right and, surprisingly, Henry Preston’s parents were also here?!

Mr. and Mrs. Preston naturally were among the central figures of the event; many people wanted to get close to The Preston Group and looked for ways to approach them.

Before I could retract my gaze, Mr. and Mrs. Preston noticed me, and a hint of embarrassment flashed across their faces before they gave me a kind smile.

"Mom, Mrs. Linden is over there, she said it’s been a long time since she’s seen you." Just when Mrs. Preston was about to reach me, Henry appeared, blocking her path.

"Is that so? I’ll go see her then." Mrs. Preston glanced at me, understood her son’s intention, and then turned to find Mrs. Linden.

At this moment, Simon came over. He smiled at me, then said to Tiana, "Shall we go meet some friends?"

"Sure!" Tiana walked away happily.

I was about to get up and find my mom, but Henry called out to me, "Why didn’t Ivan come with you?"

"He’s busy," I replied casually.

"At an event like this, with his mother here too, shouldn’t he set work aside to accompany you first?" Henry walked up to me, his nearly six-foot-three frame imposing.

He had a sarcastic smile on his lips.

I slightly raised my head to look into Henry’s eyes, "I understand him, it doesn’t matter. Besides, when I decided to be with him, I was already mentally prepared to face his family, so you don’t need to worry so much about me."

Henry took out his phone and showed me a photo of Ivan having a meal with another woman.

"He’s on a blind date today, not at work. You didn’t know?" he asked with a smile.
