CHAPTER 33: CHAPTER 33: WHAT MEDICINE DID YOU GIVE ME

I don’t mean to look down on Azure; ordinary people living ordinary lives is the destiny for most.

I just happened to be lucky. My forefathers worked hard and achieved some successes, allowing me to enjoy the fruits and have a slightly better economic foundation than others.

But I really want to experience Azure’s life, her work, her favorite foods, her clothing style.

"This is delicious!" At first, Leah Lane didn’t think much of this place, but as she ate, she became happy. After devouring a plate of sushi, she ordered a serving of yakitori.

Leah Lane told me that if she got pregnant soon after marriage, she would choose to stay at home and nurture the fetus, awaiting the time to support her husband and educate the children.

As for her musical dreams, she would probably have to give them up.

"If you weren’t so stubborn, and got your family to invest some money, you’d already be a famous singer." I laughed.

"That would be so boring. If I knew I would definitely win a game, I wouldn’t even want to start." Leah Lane pouted.

Her words nearly made me choke, feeling a little targeted.

I clearly know that in the end, Henry Preston and Azure will definitely be together, yet I still stir up trouble now and then, just being ridiculous.

After finishing the Japanese cuisine, the two of us went on a shopping spree, ending up with bags and packages to take home.

I called Lane to pick me up. The Panamera was in for maintenance, so today he was driving a black Lincoln. I stuffed everything into the back seat and sat in the front passenger seat, "Head home!"

I must say, Laura Lawson is quite attentive to my affairs. When I got home, she had already gotten ten packs of medicine from her relative who is a veteran Chinese medicine doctor, neatly organized on the table.

"Madam, take a pack of these daily, twice a day. Let me prepare the medicine for you!" Laura Lawson proactively took on the task.

"Alright, thank you, Auntie Lawson. How much is it here? I’ll pay you." I took out my wallet.

"No need, no need, madam. Last time I broke your skincare product and didn’t compensate, consider this my apology." Laura Lawson waved her hand.

I didn’t insist, just said a few more polite words.

I don’t know what method my mother-in-law used, but Henry Preston returned at night. The moment he walked in, he flung his coat aside, emitting a cold aura from head to toe.

I quietly ate my meal, turned a blind eye.

After Henry Preston went upstairs, Laura Lawson brought the medicinal soup over and softly asked, "Madam, should I take it up, or..."

I elegantly wiped the corner of my mouth, "I’ll do it."

After saying that, I carried the medicine upstairs to the guest room. Henry Preston was likely showering; the sound of rushing water came from the bathroom.

His phone was on the table, lit up briefly. I went over to take a look; it was a stock market notification, and the lock screen wallpaper was the back of a girl wearing a sky-blue cotton dress, with a high ponytail, glistening in the sunlight.

I immediately recognized that this back belonged to Azure, as if I too secretly admired her.

After the screen dimmed, I deliberately lit it up again, continuing to gaze at the lock screen until the water stopped, and a door opened. Only then did I quickly avert my gaze.

"Why are you here?" Seeing me, Henry Preston asked indifferently.

His hair was wet, the ends hanging at his brow and eyes, looking fresh and almost a few years younger, wearing black short-sleeved home shirt and pants, with a perfect drape, clearly outlining his shoulder and chest lines.

I almost envied Azure!

"To drink medicine." I pushed the dark Chinese medicine on the table.

"Not drinking." Henry Preston replied crossly.

"Then why did you come back? Isn’t it because your parents wanted you to come back to drink the medicine?" I was a bit puzzled, "Am I not right?"

I seemed to have guessed correctly, as Henry Preston’s face showed agitation. He reached out and downed the bowl of medicine in one gulp, leaving me utterly impressed.

In terms of enduring hardship, he’s better than me.

After draining the medicine, Henry Preston handed me the bowl, "You can leave now."

I took the bowl and left without a trace of reluctance.

When I went downstairs and put the bowl in the kitchen, Laura Lawson was waiting there; her expression was somewhat odd, her tone slightly amused, "Madam, did Mr. Preston drink it?"

"Yes." I nodded.

"That’s good. You should take a shower and rest too. It’s already late." Laura Lawson warmly advised.

It’s only eight-thirty, is it really that late?

But I indeed had nothing to do, might as well rest early, so I went upstairs to shower.

After showering, I lay in bed scrolling through my phone, and saw Joel Sutton had updated his Moments in the afternoon, accompanied by a sweaty photo, the blue jersey pulled up somewhat, revealing solid six-pack abs.

Judging by the background, it was taken during a game, and faintly seen in the back was half of Azure’s figure.

Being young is wonderful, youthful skin exudes vibrant energy. I didn’t hesitate to like his abs!

In the lonely long night, I, a married virgin of five years, alone in my empty room, felt a bit stirred up by Joel Sutton’s selfie. The desire of food and lust, quite normal.

Just as I was about to resolve matters myself, the door opened, startling me.

"What are you doing?" Henry Preston stood at the door, sounding a bit odd.

I was holding a little thing that brings joy, not yet slipped under the covers, just sitting in bed somewhat dumbfounded looking at him, and for a moment the air seemed to freeze.

I really didn’t expect Henry Preston to suddenly come to the master bedroom at night looking for me, this was very unusual. Now, I can only hope he’s uninformed and unfamiliar with what I’m holding.

"What is this?" Henry Preston walked straight to the side of my bed and tried to take the joyful thing from my hand.

I quickly hid it under the covers, my face stiff, "Why did you come? Don’t you know how to knock?"

Henry Preston was right by the bed; I could feel a heat wave emanating from him. Looking up, I saw his eyes were a little red, his glance peculiar.

"What exactly is it?" Henry Preston was arguing with me. He leaned down, reaching his hand under the covers, continuing to try and grab it.

I’ve never flirted with him before; I interpreted this situation as he really was trying to grab it.

"This is my personal item; what does it have to do with you? Henry Preston, go back to your room and sleep!" I got angry, yelling angrily at Henry Preston.

As soon as the words fell, Henry Preston roughly pulled the covers off, exposing my half-removed pajama pants and the pink joyful tool entirely.

Henry Preston stared at me for a few seconds, then his gaze turned obviously heated.

I thought he would mock me a bit and then leave, since that’s his favorite and most skilled activity, but things developed beyond my expectations.

Henry Preston pressed down on my hand trying to wear pants, then leaned down aggressively, sealing my lips, instantly making it hard to breathe.

I pushed Henry Preston away sharply, "Are you running a fever? You’re so hot!"

It was truly very hot, hot enough to burn. I suspected the high fever had fried his brain, leading him to such uncontrollable actions.

Henry Preston’s voice was slightly hoarse, "That you’d have to ask what kind of medicine you gave me."
