Chapter 200 - 199: Admiration (Second update for Fei Wo Suo Fei)
CHAPTER 200: 199: ADMIRATION (SECOND UPDATE FOR FEI WO SUO FEI)
Zhao Guodong isn’t good with words, he knows he’s not good at sweet-talking people. Otherwise, why would he upset Ye Ling every day? Seeing the considerate and understanding Ye Qian in front of him, Zhao Guodong couldn’t help but sigh, "If only Ye Ling could be as understanding as you. You don’t know her temper; only I can handle it. And she’s always picky. Sometimes I don’t even know why she’s angry; it makes me dizzy."
Ye Qian shyly looked at him, "Brother Guodong, actually you’re really nice."
Zhao Guodong just chuckled.
Not far away, Wang Ping stood behind Zhang Linong, watching Zhao Guodong grinning foolishly, "He talks about Ye Ling like that and even compares her to Ye Qian. Won’t Ye Ling get mad?"
"He’s not worried himself, so why should we worry? Anyway, he’ll be the one to suffer in the end." Zhang Linong snorted coldly, with his hands in his pockets, and just watched from a distance.
Hearing footsteps behind him, he turned around and saw Liu Zhiyuan and Xiang Weilai. Seeing Zhang Linong and the others standing there, they too looked ahead and saw Zhao Guodong and Ye Qian talking.
Xiang Weilai’s eyebrows lifted slightly, and he glanced at his friend subtly, chuckling, "What are those two talking about? They seem so happy?"
"Of course they’re happy. Dongzi likes Ye Qian, didn’t you see? Ye Qian likes Dongzi too." Wang Ping couldn’t stand Xiang Weilai and the others, so he blurted it out.
Unexpectedly, this prompted a burst of laughter from Xiang Weilai. Wang Ping, not taking it lying down, glared over, "What’s so funny?"
Xiang Weilai looked at the silent Zhang Linong with a half-smile, "You don’t need to ask me what’s funny, just ask the person next to you and you’ll know."
This sarcastic remark didn’t register with Wang Ping; he obediently turned his head to ask Zhang Linong, "What’s so funny?"
Zhang Linong squinted lazily at Xiang Weilai, "He’s laughing at how dumb you are."
Upon hearing this, Wang Ping jumped up immediately, "You there with the surname Xiang, you dare to insult me."
With that, he pounced, but Xiang Weilai casually sidestepped to avoid Wang Ping’s kick, lightly saying, "Still the same quick temper. Fighting is what uncouth people do. You’re in high school now, Wang Ping, don’t you feel embarrassed acting so childish?"
Xiang Weilai straightened up, casually fixing his collar that had been tugged during the swift movement, while Wang Ping looked like a child, red-faced and fuming.
Zhang Linong stopped him, "Would you bite a dog that bit you?"
Wang Ping paused for a moment, then instead of getting angry, he burst out laughing at Xiang Weilai. Xiang Weilai just raised an eyebrow without getting angry, and smiled back at Zhang Linong.
The three of them made a racket there, while Liu Zhiyuan kept his distance, observing Ye Qian and Zhao Guodong from afar until they parted ways. When Ye Qian came over and seemed to see him, Liu Zhiyuan called Xiang Weilai to leave.
Ye Qian saw Liu Zhiyuan and was happily walking toward him, only to see Liu Zhiyuan leaving with Xiang Weilai. Her smile faltered, and when she brushed past Zhang Linong and the others, Wang Ping said something that nearly made Ye Qian vomit blood with anger.
"Since you’re Dongzi’s girl, stay away from Liu Zhiyuan and the others. Don’t forget we’re in the logistics section, and they’re in the management section."
"Stop talking nonsense." Ye Qian, rarely showing a stern face, glared at Wang Ping and left in a huff.
Wang Ping didn’t care, but Zhang Linong praised him and patted his shoulder, making Wang Ping even more pleased. When they arrived at the Zhao Family, Wang Ping eagerly recounted what had happened to Zhao Guodong, and even gave him a friendly pat on the shoulder, "I’m telling you, Dongzi, you did well. How can we let the management section take away our logistics section girls? Not to mention, seeing Liu Zhiyuan so upset makes me feel good inside."
Zhao Guodong felt inexplicably guilty, subtly stepped on Wang Ping’s foot, and Wang Ping yelped in pain, "You stepped on me..."
Before he could finish, Zhao Guodong covered his mouth, "Come with me."
He dragged Wang Ping into the house and closed the door.
Ye Ling was reading and wasn’t affected by the two. Since she was tutoring these people, Ye Ling had organized the math problems from sophomore year and selected the ones she thought were important. Although in her past life she didn’t attend high school, she had heard that Xiang Weilai from the compound did well, with scores ranking high in the province.
Ye Ling felt anxious, knowing that if these three had at least looked at the sophomore books, she wouldn’t be so worried. But with the college entrance exam just over two months away, and having not even looked at the sophomore books, how could they pass? If there was really no other way, she’d have to borrow notes from Xiang Weilai for help.
Since Xiang Weilai did so well on exams, he must have made estimations, so borrowing his notes wouldn’t aim for high marks but at least to pass the college entrance exam.
"Ye Ling, you don’t need to worry about us, just focus on your own studies," Zhang Linong said, uncertainly after hesitating, "I borrowed some sophomore year books over the New Year and finished the first semester. Only the second semester is left. I thought I’d review it first; now it seems I’ll need to."
Ye Ling was delighted, "That’s great. You should focus on the second semester in your free evenings, and during the day, I’ll go over the first semester with you all to reinforce it. You can study along with us."
Finally, there was someone who took it seriously. Even if the odds were slim, it relieved some of Ye Ling’s pressure.
Ye Ling and Zhang Linong finished planning the math section and moved on to other subjects. Meanwhile, once Zhao Guodong shut the door, he whispered, "What nonsense are you spouting? You mustn’t say this around Ye Ling anymore."
He finally released Wang Ping’s mouth.
Wang Ping whispered, "What’s the big deal?"
"You know Ye Ling doesn’t like it, she definitely won’t be happy if she hears it. Their sisterly relationship isn’t good. If I like Ye Qian, would she be pleased?" Zhao Guodong explained what he thought to be reasonable.
Wang Ping didn’t mind, "Didn’t Ye Ling say she doesn’t like you? She won’t be jealous, so you don’t have to worry."
Zhao Guodong’s eyes widened, and Wang Ping quickly raised his hands in mock surrender. Only then did Zhao Guodong snort, "A woman’s heart is like a needle in the sea; you understand nothing. Now, get going and study."
Wang Ping whispered, unwilling, "You like Ye Qian and care about Ye Ling’s feelings. Which one do you really like?"
His head bumped into Zhao Guodong’s back just then, and Wang Ping inwardly realized it was a mistake. Sure enough, Zhao Guodong turned around angrily, "What did you say? Say it again if you dare."
Although angry, Zhao Guodong kept his voice down, not wanting Ye Ling outside to hear. Seeing his guilty look, Wang Ping muttered under his breath, "Didn’t say anything." (To be continued.
