After Rebirth: The Alpha Ex-Husband Is Addicted to Me
Chapter 172:
CHAPTER 172: CHAPTER 172:
"We’re friends, and since I know you’re in danger, I can’t just stand by and do nothing."
Sophie Bennett was gasping for breath, no matter how hard she ran, she couldn’t catch up to the two people ahead of her. She was both angry and frustrated, shouting, "Charles Sharp, wait for me!"
It was better when she didn’t say anything; as soon as she did, Charles Sharp walked even faster.
At the infirmary, while applying medication, Lucy Eaton was in unbearable pain, yet she didn’t utter a sound. After the wounds were bandaged, Charles Sharp had his bodyguard drive his own car, while he drove Lucy Eaton’s car.
Sophie Bennett seized the opportunity to sneak into the back seat while they weren’t paying attention.
As the car started, Sophie Bennett blurted out what she had been holding in, "Lucy Eaton, you really are calculating. Admit it, was that man with the knife sent by you? Just to get a little hurt and earn my husband’s sympathy?"
"Sophie, what nonsense are you spouting?"
"You men just don’t understand women’s schemes!"
"I haven’t asked you yet, did you tell the bodyguard not to report calls to me?"
"That’s right," Sophie admitted, "Why should I pass on her request for you to call her back just because she said so? You’re my husband, aren’t you!"
Charles Sharp didn’t want to say another word to her and simply spat out, "Idiot."
"Charles Sharp, don’t be too excessive!"
"You’re the one being excessive!" Lucy Eaton turned her cold gaze to her, "What right do you have to turn off his phone? What right do you have to stop his bodyguards from passing on important messages? Just because you’re his wife? Do you even know where that knife would have struck if I hadn’t grabbed it in time? As for your suspicions, think whatever you like. I won’t explain myself to you because you’re not worth it."
"Are all mistresses this brazen nowadays?!" Sophie Bennett retorted harshly, "Daring to lecture the legitimate wife."
The car suddenly stopped, and Charles Sharp’s voice was icy cold, "Get out."
"I won’t."
"Are you getting out or not?"
"I’m not getting out, what can you do about it?!"
Charles Sharp swiftly unbuckled his seatbelt, got out of the car, opened the back door, and pulled her out, leaving Sophie Bennett sitting on the ground. As soon as she stood up, the car sped away in a cloud of dust.
She stomped her foot in anger, "Charles Sharp, you big jerk!"
Lucy Eaton looked back in the mirror, only a shadow of Sophie Bennett remained, "She’s the president’s daughter, is this really okay?"
"There are cars with bodyguards behind us," Charles Sharp eyes ahead, "I’m sorry for making you bear the label of a mistress. Ignore what Sophie Bennett said."
"We can’t control what others say. As long as we know whether I’m a mistress or not, that’s enough," Lucy Eaton looked out the window, "My husband is very outstanding."
"I’m curious to meet this outstanding husband of yours."
"There will be an opportunity."
Lucy Eaton looked at her phone for news.
Seeing nothing about herself, she breathed a sigh of relief.
Lucy Eaton had him drop her off at the crossroads, then Charles Sharp took a taxi back, and she drove herself back to Blossom Haven.
At home, she found Jacob Green wasn’t there.
"Hazel Soft, where’s the young master?"
Oliver Green replied, "Young Master left in a huff after I deleted the news about Young Madam online."
"Stormed out in anger? Give me his GPS location."
Oliver Green nodded, "I’ll check right away."
A few minutes later, Oliver Green returned, "Young Master went to Number Nine Residence."
"Got it." As she went to the garage, Oliver Green said, "Young Madam, your hand is injured, and I have other tasks to handle. Let Nathaniel Green drive you instead."
"Go tell him to come."
"Yes."
Nathaniel Green drove her car to Number Nine Residence.
It was already close to seven o’clock.
Upon finding the room where Jacob Green was staying, she opened the door to see him holding a wine glass, with two young, beautiful women sitting beside him.
Standing behind Lucy Eaton, Nathaniel Green was sweating profusely, wondering what his young master was doing, courting death indeed.
He thought Lucy Eaton would turn around and leave immediately, but who knew, she did something totally unexpected.
Not only did Lucy Eaton not leave, but she also teased with a smile, "Mr. Green, you’re quite lucky, a beautiful girl on your left and another on your right. Makes one really envious. Nathaniel, go get me two handsome guys, I want to enjoy this kind of treatment as well."
Upon hearing this, Jacob Green’s deep eyes grew darker with just one glance at Nathaniel Green, the latter didn’t dare move at all.
"What are you standing there for?" Lucy Eaton pressed, "Go ahead."
"Young Madam..." Nathaniel Green was on the verge of tears, unsure whom to listen to.
The two women beside Jacob Green were frightened when they heard Nathaniel Green call Lucy Eaton Young Madam, their faces turned pale, and they immediately stood up.
"Young Master, we’ll... take our leave now."
Jacob Green remained silent, which they took as permission.
After the two women left, Nathaniel Green also quickly followed them out, warning them not to talk nonsense.
The room became eerily quiet, Lucy Eaton sat beside him. Who would have thought Jacob Green would awkwardly move slightly to the other side.
This action made Lucy Eaton want to laugh.
She scooted closer to him, and just as he was about to move further away, she got up and straddled his lap, "Our Mr. Green is angry, what should I do to make him not angry? Like this?"
She started to lower her head to kiss him, the taste of alcohol mixed with his unique scent spread on her tongue. Jacob Green’s heart crumbled, he held her tightly and kissed her strongly.
Their bodies grew gradually warmer, in a dizzying moment, Lucy Eaton knelt on the sofa, he leaned forward, pressing her down and began.
When it was over, he sat there smoking a cigarette.
Lucy Eaton got dressed and was about to leave, and just as she had taken a few steps, he called her back.
"Where are you going?"
"Home."
"Aren’t you going to wait for me?"
"Don’t you know the way back yourself?"
Jacob Green put out the cigarette in the ashtray and chuckled once, "You woman, pulling up your pants and forgetting people..."
Lucy Eaton’s eyes sparkled, "Mainly because I’m hungry."
He put on a mask and hat, came over with big strides and held her left hand, "Let’s go home and eat."
As Lucy Eaton walked, she took out a mask and put it on. Standing outside waiting, Nathaniel Green saw them holding hands and grinned like a blooming flower, "Are we going back?"
"What else?"
Nathaniel Green nodded, "Got it."
He drove Lucy Eaton’s car, while Lucy Eaton sat in Jacob Green’s car.
"Is your hand badly hurt?"
"Only now you’re asking..." Lucy Eaton pouted, "I’ve been waiting for quite a while."
Jacob Green looked helpless, "And you have the nerve to shield another man from a blade?"
"At the time, it was urgent, I could only grab the blade. If I hadn’t grabbed it, the knife would have struck very close to Charles’s heart."
