CHAPTER 207: CHAPTER 207: I’M PREGNANT (PART 11)

Jacob Green immediately knew what it was, "I really didn’t know about this matter. I will continue to have people send you the pills. But starting now, increase the dosage; give him two pills a week. With me here, I won’t let you die at his hands as well. But you must be good and follow my arrangements."

Flora Palmer raised her eyes, glistening with tears, lowering her voice, "I will obediently listen to you. I don’t ask for anything, only that you can protect the lives of me and Lewis and the baby in my belly. If you don’t believe in the child’s lineage, a test can be done once the baby is born. Everything I say is true. He thinks we have lived together as husband and wife, but we haven’t. It was Lucy’s medicine that made him think so."

"I believe you; there’s no need for a test."

That one sentence was enough.

Flora Palmer nodded with tears, saying nothing more.

Jacob Green did not return to the Prime Minister’s Mansion after leaving the Palmer Family.

Some matters he didn’t want to involve his father-in-law and mother-in-law.

He wanted to handle it himself.

——

"James, how should we handle Lucy’s revenue?" Robert Langley inquired.

James Foster gazed at the shop’s revenue, "Lucy’s registration has been canceled. The news reported that Jacob Green’s marital status has been changed to widowed. He and Lucy are no longer married. I’ve already called Lucy’s parents. They said Jacob Green has given Lucy’s savings to them. I’ve also asked them for the account number. From now on, Lucy’s revenue will be transferred to her parents every month."

"That’s the best way." Robert Langley noticed his fatigued expression and patted his shoulder, "Please eat more lately, alright? Health is important. If you keep this up, your body will collapse. Without you, how could my wife and I manage the shop?"

"I’m fine, don’t worry." James Foster slowly took a sip of coffee.

"I’ll go get busy now." Robert Langley turned and went upstairs.

Watson came down from upstairs and handed over a note.

James Foster took it, and it read: [Could you go on a date with me tonight?]

His expression softened. He reached out to pat her head, "Where do you want to go?"

"Anywhere is fine, even just walking down the street."

"Alright, after work tonight then."

"Okay." Watson held his left hand tightly, their fingers intertwined, the warmth in their palms conveying their hearts.

This gesture fell into Mary Pond’s eyes as she was sweeping the floor, and it made her feel quite uncomfortable.

The upper floor was quite busy today. Watson was busy non-stop after lunch, continuing until the evening only taking a short break.

By ten o’clock at night, she tidied up to leave the room. Unexpectedly, as she turned around, Watson paused her steps, and James Foster was standing at the doorway watching her.

"I’ll wait for you downstairs."

Watson nodded, "Okay."

She hurriedly went up to the third floor to change clothes. Though it was already late, it was still a date, wasn’t it?

By the time she came downstairs, James Foster was waiting at the door.

She quickened her pace toward him, naturally linking her arm with his. They exchanged a smile and left the shop.

October’s weather had cooled significantly, and the two walked slowly on the sidewalk.

Watson kept telling jokes to cheer him up. James Foster could see she hoped he’d become happy, so while walking, he turned to hug her, gently saying, "I’ve been alright. She will forever be in my heart. To me, she hasn’t left."

"James, I know you’re feeling down, but Lucy surely wouldn’t want you to be like this."

"I know. She couldn’t bear seeing me unhappy," James Foster murmured, "Do you want to eat some night snacks?"

"Yes."

"Alright, up ahead is a wonton shop. It shouldn’t be closed yet, this shop always closes late, I’ll take you there."

Watson replied, "Okay."

When they arrived, Mary Pond was already there.

James Foster and Watson took a seat at another table without greeting her.

Yet, inevitably, because of Mary Pond’s presence, their conversation was limited.

Throughout dinner, there was hardly any talk, all the way until paying the bill and leaving.

After stepping out of the wonton shop, James Foster hailed a taxi and took Watson to the Trelliswood District.

The elevator reached the eighth floor directly. As they walked out, James Foster introduced, "These two apartments belong to Lucy. She gave me 802 to use for marriage. I’m financially limited, but I spent the money to remodel both apartments. The new home she never lived in for even a day."

Watson didn’t know how much these apartments cost, but they surely weren’t cheap.

"She treated you really well. Any other person would be reluctant to give them away."

James Foster said nothing in response, entered the password, and led Watson inside.

The furniture in the house was already arranged.

"I designed the decoration style of these two apartments myself. I know Lucy’s taste, and she was satisfied with the design."

"The design style is simple and elegant, and it feels comfortable." Watson gave him a big compliment, "I think you have the talent to be a designer."

"It’s all based on preference," he asked, "I’m moving my luggage over tomorrow, would you like to move in with me?"

"Can I?"

"That’s up to you."

Watson’s face flushed slightly, "I got it."

"So, are you willing or not?"

Watson seemed a bit embarrassed, feeling somewhat at a loss, "I’m willing. There are too many people at the shop, whereas if we live under the same roof, we’ll have much more alone time."

James Foster gently embraced her, resting his head against hers, "Let’s not return tonight, let’s stay here, alright?"

"Alright..."

After washing up, they went to sleep in the master bedroom and guest bedroom respectively, as one of the guest bedrooms was prepared for parents, so a bed was purchased for it too.

That night, James Foster slept in the guest bedroom, leaving the master bedroom for Watson.

It might have been unfamiliar surroundings that caused Watson to only fall asleep after two in the morning.

As a result, she forgot to set an alarm and woke up at nine in the morning, having overslept.

In a hurry, she got up to wash, opened the door and saw her suitcase placed at the door.

"Come have breakfast." James Foster beckoned to her from the dining table.

"Did you bring my suitcase over?"

"Yes, I brought it along when I went to get my suitcase."

"I’ve missed work."

"No worries, I gave special instructions to the second floor, you don’t need to work today." James Foster handed her a glass of milk and peeled an egg into her plate, "I’ve kept the third-floor room for us as a lounge. If you get tired at work, just go there to rest."

Watson secretly glanced at him, eating her egg and drinking milk, feeling as if her heart was filled with honey.

He was affectionate, tender, considerate, with a stable job, just the kind of partner she was looking for.

She had to hold onto him firmly.

She absolutely would not let the opportunity slip through her fingers.

She suggested staying in the guest bedroom, but he wouldn’t allow it, so she had to drag her suitcase to the master bedroom.
