After Rebirth: The Alpha Ex-Husband Is Addicted to Me
Chapter 31: Jacob Green’s Revenge
CHAPTER 31: CHAPTER 31: JACOB GREEN’S REVENGE
Jacob Green took the earbud and placed it in his ear. When the music started playing, his eyes showed surprise, "Is this ’Megan’?"
Elijah Sheppard was dumbfounded, "What the hell, how do you know the name? I didn’t seem to mention the name just now, did I?"
Jacob Green listened intently to the music before taking the earbud out and saying to him, "Last night, Lucy got drunk and sang this song, including the lyrics. It’s a love song, she said it was your new song and claimed it was famous, spreading everywhere. I recall you hadn’t released this song, and I specifically looked at your encyclopedia entry, confirming it was not there, so I thought she was talking nonsense."
Elijah Sheppard was utterly shocked, "There’s also lyrics? How is that possible? This piece was just composed by me, and I haven’t added lyrics yet. How could she sing it? The name was also something I just came up with, and only I knew it, I never mentioned it to anyone. I was even pondering about asking you what you thought of this name, oh my!"
Jacob Green also found it incredibly unbelievable, "Here’s the plan, once you’ve added lyrics to this song, don’t tell me the specifics. I remember some lines of the lyrics she sang, and then we can compare whether they’re the same."
"I was planning to take a few days off, but with what you said, I must hurry up and add lyrics to this main track." Elijah Sheppard found it too terrifying, "I’m really curious, how exactly does she know?"
Jacob Green shook his head, "I always thought she was talking nonsense...and that night, she said some things that didn’t match reality."
"What things?"
"She said Stellan Quinn wasn’t killed by her but by Grace Hughes, and she mentioned that she was preparing to divorce me, to make way for Stellan, how could she kill him? She also cried, saying the child didn’t get to come into this world because Grace Hughes killed it... I’m certain I haven’t lost my memory; my marital status records have always been single; I’ve never had a marriage with her."
"But didn’t you say she knows Grace Hughes, knows her phone number, even knows the hotel’s affair was her doing, yet the other party doesn’t know her, right?"
"That’s correct."
"The fact that Grace Hughes doesn’t know her indicates they indeed didn’t know each other before the hotel incident, but she understands Grace Hughes so thoroughly, showing that Grace Hughes is someone worth her effort to focus on, which is very intriguing. Miss Eaton was clean when she was with you, indicating she never had a boyfriend or husband before. Is she really making stuff up when she says those things? Could it be something that will happen in the future? Otherwise, how do you explain her singing the unpublished new song? I’d really like to meet her now."
"Are you saying she can foresee these things?"
"That’s exactly what I mean, but it’s just my personal speculation. Besides this, I can’t think of another reason to convince myself." Elijah Sheppard continued analyzing, "She understands that being with you won’t end well, so she decisively refused to renew the contract."
Following his explanation, Jacob Green’s mind became somewhat clear and bright, "I never discovered she had the ability to foresee the future."
"You’ve only known her for about a month, naturally you don’t know her that well, and perhaps she doesn’t want you to understand this." Elijah Sheppard wondered, "She likely foresaw your future together and no longer wants any entanglement with you. Break it off when necessary; if my guess is correct, should you meet again, she’ll absolutely be cordial but never let you back into her world. If there’s no future destined for you with her, then don’t force it."
Jacob Green pursed his lips, silently thinking that had Elijah Sheppard not invited him to listen to the new song, he wouldn’t have dared to imagine Lucy might have abilities different from others.
No matter what, he was determined to get to the bottom of this incident.
To learn the truest answer.
——
"Grace, could she be a scammer?"
"I promise, she is absolutely not a scammer," Grace Hughes confidently said. "I video-called her; she’s a very pretty girl, my type."
"Online dating is too unreliable, isn’t it?" Stellan Quinn disagreed with her finding someone online, "You should be extremely cautious."
"Don’t worry, I know."
The two entered a famous nightclub, Number Nine Residence.
Inside it was unusually lively; wading through the crowd, Grace Hughes took Stellan Quinn’s hand and led him upstairs to the sixth floor, finding the suite number, and walked in together.
Inside was already a young, beautiful girl waiting.
Seeing them come in, she enthusiastically stood up to greet them.
Stellan Quinn found the girl to be petite and delicate and immediately let down his guard.
The three sat down, got along very well, chatting pleasantly.
Drinking and singing, having a blast.
Grace Hughes repeatedly poured drinks for Stellan Quinn, and despite his low tolerance for alcohol, under her deliberate actions, he quickly became drunk.
Nonetheless, Grace Hughes continued to pour him more drinks.
Until finally, he was drunk beyond recognition.
The last drink even contained drugs.
The desired effect was just like this.
Seeing the timing was about right, she told the drunken Stellan Quinn, "I’m going to the bathroom, wait for me here."
"You... go ahead." Stellan Quinn’s cheeks were flushed, his gaze dazed.
The suite was intentionally chosen not to have a bathroom precisely to use this excuse to leave. Grace Hughes knew what was going to happen next.
For she faked liking women, while the other petite and delicate woman in the room genuinely did like women.
Out of the suite, she went to the bathroom, sat on the toilet, and sent a text message to Oliver Green.
After receiving her text, Oliver Green told her to return to the suite in ten minutes.
Thus, Grace Hughes watched the time on her phone. These ten minutes seemed somewhat long to her.
Ten minutes could pass quickly, or slowly, appearing as long as a whole day.
When it was time, she left the bathroom, heading straight for the suite room.
Upon pushing open the door, she was shocked, standing at the entrance.
By then, the girl in the room was gone, leaving only Stellan Quinn acting as if crazed, holding an empty wine bottle.
Once she reacted, she quickly shut the door, locking it, and hurried towards the sofa.
"Stellan... what happened to you?"
Stellan Quinn had lost his rationality and couldn’t utter a word.
Grace Hughes yanked the wine bottle from his hand, placing it on the ground, and was suddenly pounced on the sofa by him.
"Stellan, it’s me, I’m Grace."
At this moment, Stellan Quinn didn’t care who she was; all he wanted was someone, irrespective of gender.
Grace Hughes was frightened by how clingy he became; after all, she was a fake lesbian, a genuine straight woman!
