"Mia..." Mrs. Thompson suddenly burst into tears, "What’s wrong with you? Your brother is sick, your father and I are counting on you, how can you treat us like this?"

Mia Townsend’s heart was ice cold and unmoved, "I’ve already given you a million, do you still want me to participate in a second time to get money for you? Dream on! From now on, I won’t live for you anymore!"

"Would you like to be my store manager?" she asked. "I want to open a beauty salon, and you can be the beauty section manager."

"Can I really do it?"

Lucy Eaton, delighted with his response, rewarded him with a kiss. Jacob Green tossed his book aside and pinned her to the sofa, kissing her endlessly.

The servants at the house couldn’t bear to watch and discreetly lowered their heads, chuckling.

Elijah Sheppard arrived just as this was happening.

Upon learning Jacob Green was married, he flew back from another city to meet his new sister-in-law.

He didn’t expect to walk in on such an intimate scene first.

"Their affection really is something to be envious of."

Realizing someone had arrived, Lucy Eaton quickly pushed Jacob Green away, her face flushed red.

"It’s not an outsider," Jacob Green introduced. "That song ’Megan,’ you sang that night, it’s this guy’s song, you know."

"Finally meeting my sister-in-law in person," Elijah Sheppard casually crossed his legs sitting down. "You’re even prettier in person than in the photos."

"Photos?"

"Yeah, Jacob Green stealthily took pictures of you sleeping and showed them to me."

"Pictures of me sleeping?" Lucy Eaton was just about to get angry when Jacob Green, already explaining, took a photo out of his pocket, "It’s this one, I took it when we were together, and I couldn’t sleep."

Lucy Eaton looked at it and instantly lost her anger, "Why do you carry around my photograph?"

"I had the same reaction as you when I saw this photo." Elijah Sheppard chimed in, "Sister-in-law, Green really likes you."

"Mind your own business." Jacob Green shot him a glance and whispered, "This is the only photo I have. We should take more photos together in the future."

Lucy Eaton felt a sweet warmth in her heart, her eyes filled with laughter, "Okay."

"Sister-in-law, are you really a fortune teller?"

"I just know some things that happened in the past few years."

"Then how much do you know about my future?" Elijah Sheppard mainly wanted to ask, "Who will my future wife be, do you know?"

She didn’t know. Firstly, Elijah Sheppard had a very low-key private life with no sensational news about him online. Although he was good friends with Jacob Green, Jacob never talked about Elijah Sheppard with her.

Secondly, she wasn’t a star chaser and hadn’t deliberately paid attention to anything beyond his music.

"We’re in a secret marriage, going together might get us in the news."

"You don’t think it’ll make the news with me too?!?!" Elijah Sheppard shouted in exasperation, "I’ll tell you what, I’m quite popular lately, do you know how many paparazzi are tailing me?! If we make the news, it’ll be more serious! You should go alone! Who knows who you’re buying for aside from insiders?"

Jacob Green thought it over, realizing that going with him might make it even less explainable if they hit the news.

"Alright, you go ahead."

Elijah Sheppard sighed deeply, "I could just throttle you."

Jacob Green headed to the garage and drove to a nearby jewelry store.

As soon as he arrived, he garnered quite a bit of attention from both customers and staff alike.

"Mr. Green, are you here to buy jewelry?"

"Yes." Ignoring the staff member’s blushing face, he walked to the diamond counter and, after a quick scan, fixed his gaze on a solitaire diamond ring.

From entering to completing the purchase, it didn’t take more than ten minutes.

He was aware that hitting the news was inevitable, but it wouldn’t matter.

He could buy what he wanted, let the gossips guess all they wanted.

When he got home, Lucy Eaton had just finished a call with Robert Langley.
