After Rebirth: The Alpha Ex-Husband Is Addicted to Me
Chapter 50: You Sleep First
CHAPTER 50: CHAPTER 50: YOU SLEEP FIRST
"You’re getting something for nothing!" she exclaimed angrily.
"Say what you like. Since you’re here, I’m not going to be polite. Hurry up and make a choice! Stop wasting time, or when I lose my patience, I’ll give you a dozen stabs."
"I’ll choose the second option."
"Then you’ll have to write an IOU, saying you’ll owe me money for life and never be able to pay it off."
"I just realized I was wrong. My face is not priceless; it’s only worth a hundred bucks!" She switched sides, changed her mind.
"Tsk tsk tsk, you’re truly selling yourself cheaply without spending money, for a million. You know you have it." She smiled slightly.
"You!" Ivy couldn’t possibly give, "I don’t have it!"
"Miss Ivy Fern, do you know what kind of knife I have in my hand?" Lucy Eaton remained calm, "This knife is called Fire Meteor, forged with the venom of a thousand snakes. If wounded by it, the wound not only won’t heal but will be fatal. I’m telling you now, is it still too late?"
"Sister Lucy, I’m begging you to let me go. I won’t dare come again. Even though I’ve had a heart transplant, I still need lifelong immunosuppressant medication. I cannot be without money."
Lucy Eaton saw through her act, unyielding, "Don’t say ’Sister Lucy,’ calling me ’Grandma Lucy’ won’t help. I give you two minutes to decide. You have the choice."
Ivy Fern left, and Lucy Eaton looked at the bank SMS notification on her phone, feeling euphoric.
Trying to confront her ended up with her being outplayed.
Ivy Fern probably regrets it so much now, doesn’t she?
She called out in the four-person group: [Everyone, come to the private room on the first floor.]
Not long after she sent the message, Robert Langley, James Foster, and Mia Townsend arrived one after another.
"Lucy, I just saw Ivy Fern storm out angrily; what did she actually say?"
Lucy Eaton’s lips curved slightly, "She was sarcastically mocking me. The breakup with Charles Sharp was clearly her own problem, yet she said I stole Charles Sharp, claiming he opened this shop for me. It’s completely absurd and ridiculous."
"She must be sick, right?" Mia Townsend said indignantly, "Why say such things about you? It’s truly laughable."
"She doesn’t know I’ve already gotten married." Lucy Eaton smiled happily, "In short, she originally wanted to annoy me, but I ended up angering her to death. Let’s not talk about her anymore; I called you over because I have something to discuss with you."
"What is it?" James Foster asked curiously.
"What is the biggest wish each of you currently want to fulfill?"
The three exchanged glances, and Mia Townsend laughed, "Why suddenly ask this?"
"Just curious."
"I’ll go first." Robert Langley said gently, "My wife just had surgery, she made it back from the brink of death. This is a new hope for me. But because of the surgery and high medical expenses, the million-dollar prize I won from the life-and-death test is mostly spent. Follow-up treatment still requires considerable funds, the family still owes a lot of debt, both my parents are in poor health, and I have children to support. Life pressure is significant, but I’m not afraid of the future because I have you good friends, and family supporting me. So my wish is to clear the debt, have money for my wife’s ongoing medical expenses, and make life better for my family."
"As for me?" James Foster counted on his fingers, "First, having a girlfriend. Second, saving enough money to buy an apartment in Ningham City. Before, I dared not think about this. Now with Lucy, I dare think."
"Mia, what about you?" Lucy Eaton turned to ask Mia Townsend.
"I want a warm home."
"Besides that?"
"I want a place of my own, a one-bedroom is enough. For women, a house represents security."
"You three are very important good friends of mine, and now that I have the capability, I intend to fulfill each of your wishes today. Robert Langley’s family situation is unique, indeed needing a lot of money. Mia wants her own place, about a hundred thousand for a one-bedroom. Soon I’ll send a million to each of you. James Foster..." Her gaze fell on James, "I’ll deed you a house in Trelliswood; I initially planned to sell it when property values soared. Now I feel having a home in the city for you is more important."
Initially, she bought two Trelliswood properties intending to sell one later as capital to avoid being passive in life. Now there’s no need to sell a house to get money; she naturally wants the property to benefit James Foster, who’s approaching marriage age.
"Lucy, I know you mean well, but your money doesn’t come easily. We’re all able-bodied, working with you here at the store; we’ll earn the money gradually, our wishes will come true, maybe it will take some time, but the way you treat us, I’m truly touched."
"Mia is right." Robert Langley agreed, "Being able to work with you at this store is already really good for us; you’ve already helped us a lot."
"I want you to live a bit easier, don’t have psychological burdens. Life is short, live happily. You don’t need to say anymore, I won’t change my mind since I’ve spoken."
"Lucy!" James Foster hugged her tightly, "Why are you so good to me? I love you!"
As soon as he spoke, the door opened, a man’s voice emerged, "You love her, I disagree."
They all turned to look, and saw Jacob Green wearing a black cap and mask.
He closed the door casually, "I listened at the door for two minutes, honestly, Lucy is treating you all better than me."
Mia Townsend couldn’t help but laugh, "Mr. Green must be jealous?"
James Foster stood up, "For sure, let’s leave the lovebirds alone for their sweet moment."
The three left together.
"Weren’t you not coming? Why did you come after all?"
"How else would I know your unrevealed side?"
"What unrevealed side?"
"Righteousness." Jacob Green held her waist, pulling her closer, "The attitude of self-preservation in poverty, aiding the world in prosperity."
"I just believe people I care about are more important than money."
"But I think you’re quite smart." Jacob Green stared deeply at her, "A loyal heart is worth more than money, you’ve solved your friends’ pressures by spending money, yet made them more loyal and dedicated to serve you. You have leadership talent."
Lucy Eaton didn’t follow his words, instead asked, "You say you came here, what if you’re photographed?"
"Don’t worry, no reporters caught me. I’m very careful."
"Tonight we’re going for a small get-together, probably getting home late, you sleep first, no need to wait."
