After Rebirth: The Alpha Ex-Husband Is Addicted to Me
Chapter 56: You Really Understand Me
CHAPTER 56: CHAPTER 56: YOU REALLY UNDERSTAND ME
And Lucy Eaton, from a quiet and unknown medical university graduate, suddenly became a prominent figure in the school.
The whole thing blew up completely, Professor Keller’s notoriety spread far and wide, and along with the Ministry of Education’s directive, his teaching certificate was revoked. He couldn’t survive in the education industry at all and became a pariah.
It even made the news.
Lucy Eaton learned about it from the news and then went to the medical university campus forum to listen to the recorded announcement,
She understood that society is realistic.
If it weren’t for Jacob Green stepping in, if the principal hadn’t known she was Mrs. Green, would they have risked damaging the school’s reputation to report this incident?
But, regardless of the reason, achieving the goal is what’s important.
"Lucy, you now have both the university diploma and the funeral services certification, that’s amazing," Mia Townsend curiously said, "but surely you won’t be spending all your time at the beauty salon in the future."
"What makes you so sure I won’t be at the beauty salon all the time?"
"Because you are someone who pursues life," Mia smirked, "You will choose a job that gives you a sense of accomplishment, and now that you are the behind-the-scenes owner of the beauty salon, it doesn’t give you that much of a sense of accomplishment."
"Mia, you understand me well," Lucy Eaton took a sip of oolong tea, "Indeed, the beauty salon is just a secondary business for my development. Being a funeral director is a backup plan I initially set for myself. To me, it is no different than the few years I studied my major. It’s the same for me. But after being a funeral director for some years, now with a medical school degree, I have the idea of pursuing this profession, walking a path I haven’t taken before: healing and saving lives, allowing my professional skills learned over the years to be utilized. This is of great significance to me."
"I believe that regardless of the field, you will excel because your diligence will bring you good rewards."
Lucy Eaton looked at her and suddenly asked, "Mia, would you like to get a short haircut?"
"Do you also think I would suit a short haircut?" Mia grinned and asked, "Yesterday, I tried on a short hair wig, and James Foster said I was very suitable."
"Let him design a hairstyle for you," Lucy praised, "James is really talented."
"Okay." She said with a glint in her eye and a smile, "Actually, I’ve wanted to cut it for a while, but after having it for so long, I couldn’t make the decision. Lucy, is it convenient to tell John about you and Jacob? If not, I’ll wait until you decide to go public."
"What’s convenient or inconvenient about it, just say it if you want to."
"His lips are sealed, he definitely won’t say anything."
...
Around ten o’clock in the evening, when it was almost closing time, James had some free time and cut her hair.
Watching the long hair being cut piece by piece, it was as if her heart was being forcibly cut from the chest.
But the result was unbelievably good.
With a change in hairstyle, it was like becoming a different person.
"How does it look?"
Mia nodded in satisfaction, "It looks great. A big thumbs up for you."
"With your face shape, short hair definitely looks better than long hair."
Mia got up from the chair, "Looking at it now, it’s really as you said."
"Mia, there’s someone looking for you outside."
"Who is it?"
"I don’t know."
"Male or female?"
"Male, and quite handsome."
Mia paused while dressing, having anticipated who it was, "Alright, I know."
She walked out, coming down from upstairs, all the way to the entrance.
A black car was parked by the roadside, and John Green leaned against the front of the car.
She approached him at a pace neither fast nor slow, stopping a meter away from him.
"Why did you cut your hair?"
"Doesn’t it look good?"
"It’s very nice."
Mia asked, "Why did you come?"
"To pick you up." Under the lights, his eyes were particularly bright.
She got into the car, fastening the seatbelt while saying, "I’ll tell you something."
"What is it?"
"Your brother got married on March 6th."
John Green looked bewildered, "Who did he marry?"
"Lucy," Mia continued, "They don’t want your family to know for now, so they are still in a secret marriage. Please don’t tell anyone."
"Got it. I just thought he had a girlfriend, didn’t expect he quietly went and registered."
"He wanted to be boyfriend and girlfriend with Lucy but she declined, so he proposed marriage." Mia praised, "Jacob has good taste. Marrying Lucy is a blessing he earned over three lifetimes; she’s truly a rare gem."
"Although I haven’t interacted much with her, just knowing that she risked her life to save you and Robert Langley, she’s already remarkable."
"Is it hard to get into your hospital’s neurology department?" Mia suddenly thought of Lucy’s specialty, "A couple of years ago, Lucy failed to cooperate with a foul professor and was deliberately given a zero score. She had just retaken the mandatory course she failed and obtained the graduation certificate from our city’s key medical university. Her specialty is neurology."
"It’s certainly hard to get into our hospital as it’s Ningham City First People’s Hospital, but if she wants to enter, I don’t need to step in, Jacob can handle everything alone. He has a great relationship with the hospital director, donating advanced medical equipment every year."
Mia’s eyes curved in delight, "Then I don’t need to worry about it."
——
"Lucy, Grace Hughes and Stellan Quinn are here, they’re getting their hair done on the first floor."
"Really?" Lucy put her phone in her pocket, "I’ll go take a look."
As she went downstairs, both Stellan Quinn and Grace Hughes had just finished drying their hair, Lucy approached them, "Two beautiful ladies are here?"
"Yes." Grace smiled at her, clearly not aware that the five million they had wasted was due to Lucy’s report.
"Can my beauty membership card be used with my mom?" Stellan inquired.
"Of course, the card includes various beauty and hair care services with counts and balances."
"My mom’s membership card at another beauty club expired. I think your place is great, I’ll have her come over to try it." Stellan asked again, "Given the unpleasantness caused by past issues, you won’t mind her coming, will you?"
"That was ages ago, why bring it up again?" Lucy smiled warmly, "She’s welcome anytime."
"Alright then."
"Lucy, let’s go to Number Nine Residence for karaoke tonight?" Grace suggested, "Are you coming?"
"Can’t make it tonight, Mia’s not around, I have to stay on duty." She casually made up an excuse.
"You’re quite the busy person now, thriving in your career while Stellan and I just spend our days eating, drinking, and having fun."
"Isn’t that nice?" Lucy laughed, "Many people envy a lifestyle like that."
