Chapter 107: Forget Marcus ckwood

Chapter 107: Forget Marcus ckwood

(Elena ckwood’s POV)

Professor Theodore Ashworth was ying chess with a friend in the pavilion. His half–white hair was neatlybed, giving him a distinguished appearance that spoke of years of academic wisdom.

Benjamin Hayes stepped into the pavilion, his footsteps soft against the wooden floor.

Professor Theodore Ashworth looked up and bsaw /bme behind Benjamin. With a kind smile that reached his eyes, he greeted warmly, “Little Elena is here.”

I smiled and nodded, feeling a bwave /bof nostalgia wash over me. “Teacher.”

The middle–aged man ying chess with Professor Theodore Ashworth turned around. Recognition dawned on his face as he greeted me, “Healer Elena.”

It was Deputy Minister Harrison. I hadn’t expected to see him here in Riverside City.

Deputy Minister Harrison’s eyes held genuine admiration as he spoke. “Your medical skills at such a young age are truly remarkable. My wife owes her life to your expertise.”

Professor Theodore Ashworth’s chest swelled with pride. “Elena is my only direct disciple. Her talent

surpasses even my expectations when I was her age.”

Deputy Minister Harrison nodded thoughtfully. “What serendipity that we should meet again here!”

Professor Theodore Ashworth’s eyes twinkled with mischief as he asked, “I hope this old student of mine didn’t give you any trouble during the surgery?”

Iughed, feeling some of the tension in my shoulders ease. “I wouldn’t dare fail the surgery, lest

my teacher’s name.”

Professor Theodore Ashworth chuckled at my response. “Such ttery from my star pupil.”

After chatting for half an hour, Deputy Minister Harrison nced at his watch, “I’m afraid I have prior

engagements to attend to.”

He stood and shook hands with both of us before departing.

Trace

Professor Theodore Ashworth and I strolled through the seemingly endless tea garden. The moonlight herbs

In carefully tended beds, their silver leaves catching the afternoon light.

“Teacher, I wanted to discuss the moonlight herb cultivation project,” I began carefully. “Margaret ckwood

has entrusted it to us.”

Professor Theodore Ashworth nodded. “Yes, it’s quite an honor. The Shadowmere Medical Consortium coboration will be significant.”

I hesitated before continuing. “I was wondering if I could avoid attending theter coborations with Shadowmere Medical Consortium.”

Professor Theodore Ashworth stopped walking and studied my face. “Are you trying to avoid someone?”

His perceptive gaze made me ufortable. Of course he would bknow /babout my past with the ckwood

family

“I recall my disapproval when you mated Marcus ckwood,” he bsaid /bgently. “I felt it might divert you from inheriting my position someday”

I lowered my head, guilt washing over me. I’m sorry, Teacher. I know I disappointed you.”

Professor Theodore Ashworth ced a reassuring hand on my shoulder. “I don’t me you, Elena. Everyone makes mistakes when they are young

His voice grew firmer. Forget Marcus ckwood. You’ll find a good mate in the future.”

He made a dismissive gesture with his hand. As for that ckwood family member, just treat him like a fart, and let it go.”

Despite everything, I couldn’t help butugh at his crude but effective metaphor. “You’re right, Teacher.”
