CHAPTER 247: MEETING.

The day was very uneventful for Leo, but the only thing he knew was that Kastya had entered the city. How did he know? Simone Silence had been directed by Markus. They company was registered in his name, and the money he registered it with was acquired in the medium of cash.

Nothing would link him with Leo, apart from a confidential agreement between the two. Leo was thorough in his moves and he wasn’t out there to play. In the morning, Leo told Zeenat to be extra careful and then he told Snow about the situation.

Snow nodded and replied, "I am going out of the office today, so they might not have the chance to meet me. It is a governmental event that I need to attend and talk to the mayors that would be attending it."

Leo nodded and then he went to his own office, and was waiting for a report from Simone who had a few men work in shifts and keep an eye out on Kastya and her entourage. His phone rang, but it wasn’t from Simone. He picked up the call and a sharp, clear voice echoed in his ears, "Hello, Leo Cardinal, I am Kastya Burnie. I was wondering if you have the time to meet me today?"

Leo pretended to be ignorant and asked, "May I ask who you are and which company are you representing, Miss Burnie?"

Kastya chuckled and said, "I am representing the third lady of the Luger Family, Matilda Luger."

Leo continued, "Umm, I am sorry, I have no idea who that is."

Kastya fell silent and then she said coldly, "Mister Cardinal, I wonder if you would like to meet me with peace or shall I visit the school where your daughter studies?"

Leo clenched his fist and said, "Miss Kastya, I really have no idea what you want, but leave my daughter out of it. I have no clue who you are."

The reason why Leo was holding back the urge to meet this woman and crush her throat was because he needed to deflect this canon in the direction of the Primal Family.

Kastya frowned, this wasn’t a reaction that she expected, and said, "Well, Carole Primal, he was the son of the lady I am representing. I am just investigating the matter of his death, and would like to talk to you about it."

Leo sighed and said, "Well, you can come to my office if you don’t mind."

Kastya agreed and took the appointment with him. Leo disconnected the call and right after that he clenched his fist around a crystal paper weight and then he crushed that thing to fine powder.

Leo was so enraged that had Kastya be present before him when she said those words, he would have torn her apart with his bare hands. He picked up his phone and then he called

Kyle, and said, "Kastya has found out about Lily’s school, and probably has someone watching the area. Give it a sweep, if you find someone, tag them and watch them."

Kyle replied, "Yes, Sir."

He dispatched two of his people in plane clothes, and then Leo waited, soon June informed him that Kastya wanted to meet and asked what time should be appropriate, and Leo said, whenever she wants to meet. He then called Anastasia and told her to pick up Lily from school. The old lady was more than happy with this arrangement.

Then Leo called Stellar Primal, the call connected and the lady said, "I was just about to call you. Something big is happening."

Leo questioned, "Such as?"

Stellar sighed and replied, "So, yesterday, the Patriarch of the family, Bishop Primal headed a meeting where he took control of the situation left after Carole’s death. I just learned that he has dispatched the Counsel to sabotage the Luger’s headhunter."

Leo sighed and replied, "Well, that old relic is not fast enough. The headhunter from the Lugers is already on the way to my office at the moment. Now, tell me how does it all work, the investigation and all?"

Stellar replied, "They must run a profile on the people who were in the goods and the bads with Carole. You will stand out. However, believe me or not, the Counsel would be more focused on that Luger person. They hate each other more than you can imagine."

Leo shook his head and replied, "They are attack dogs, trained to go after the target only. Forget it, I will handle it on my own."

The call was disconnected and then the young man sighed as he leaned back in his chair, until he couldn’t. June called him and said, "Sir, they are here."

Leo nodded and said, "Good, get them up."

He flexed his neck a couple of times, and then he took a sip of water before adjusting his mindset about the things that he was about to face. One thing that he needed to hold back would be his anger, because this bitch coming to see him had just threatened him with his daughter.

He got on his computer and before long the corridor echoed with the sharp clacks of the heel, and Leo saw a woman dressed in Red jacket, black wide pants, and red heels, walking over to his office door.

June stood up and wanted to say something when Kastya bypassed her and pushed the door of the office. She looked at Leo and wanted to say something when Leo said, "Get out."

Kastya was taken aback and then Leo said, "This is not your Luger house. This is Butterfly Technologies. You want to talk, then show some respect or go out chase ghosts. I don’t care."

Kastya tilted her head and asked, "Are you sure you want me to do that?"

Leo stood up from his chair and buttoned his suit up as he walked up to Kastya and said, "Miss Kastya, I agreed to talk to you because I have nothing to hide, and I don’t much about you, but my family is all that matters to me. I agreed to talk to you, so that you don’t do anything to endanger my daughter, or I would take you down to hell with me at any cost. Believe me, I am serious about everything I said, if you wish to talk, you ought to show some decency."

Kastya was really surprised, she could see that Leo was shivering slightly, but she could also see that he wasn’t bluffing. This was a person whom she didn’t want to push into a corner. Recalling her task, she stepped out of the office and then knocked the door.

Leo said, "Please, come in."

Kastya came inside and asked, "Now can we talk?"

Leo nodded and led her to sit on the couch and then he asked, "Tell me what do you want to know."

Kastya asked, "Would you have killed Carole Primal?"

Her tone was calm and her pace seemed normal, but she was trying to catch Leo off guard but the young man replied, "Yes, I would have. To be honest, whoever killed him I am a fan of that person. However, it is a shame that I didn’t do it myself. It is a shame that I couldn’t do it myself."

Kastya looked at Leo and asked, "Do you know that your words can make you a target of the Luger family? What if we decide to come after your family?"

Leo nodded and replied, "Yes, you can put all the targets that you want but I really didn’t kill him. See, Miss Kastya, I am able to get back up from what Carole did to me because of my family. I cannot risk that again. I am sure that you have done your research.

I don’t have any asset or power in my hand that would make me go against him. I won’t lie, I did look into him but I have no idea what to do when I found out that he is related to some powerful shot caller in the Luger family."

Kastya looked at him and asked, "You want me to believe that?"

Leo shrugged and said, "It is your call what you want to believe or not, Miss Kastya, but I am telling clearly, If I had the power I would have killed him, but I didn’t."

Kastya said, "The same didn’t go true for your Uncle and Cousin."

Leo smiled and said, "They had it coming for all that they did. Also, I think Carole is your concern and not the trash from the Cardinal family."

Kastya saw that she could not handle Leo. He was stumping her for all the things that she had planned to ask. He was showing her a piece of his heart where he really wished he could kill Carole. However, the frustration in his voice was obvious too.

She took a deep breath and then said, "Well, that makes some sense, but why do you think that you don’t have the power?"

Leo smiled and replied, "Because my family becomes a target for all the men I wish to kill."

Kastya nodded, and then said, "Since that is the case, I shall take my leave, but if anything new comes up. I would expect your cooperation?"

Leo shook his head and replied, "I don’t owe you or the Lugers anything. I did this so that you can get an understanding about me and my alleged involvement. I would appreciate if you don’t make it difficult for me again, I have some important things to do then worry about the death of my enemy."

With that, Leo saw off the attack dog from the Luger Family.
