CHAPTER 248: COMPETITION.

Leo was thinking how he was going to handle things now, but before he could bother about the two big families and their attack dogs. His little kitten at home was raging.

The young man finished his day and reached home in the evening with Snow. They had spent the entire trip home discussing the things they could do to mislead the two families and how many things they needed to prepare. So, after finding that this was getting too stressing for them. Leo delegated this task to Ellyse and Yelena.

They were given a task to mislead the families and while doing so, they would need to cover their tracks. With that burden temporarily off their shoulders, they reached home and Leo found that Lily was fuming. Her little nose was fluttering and he asked quickly, "Baby, what happened?"

Snow looked at him and mumbled, "How quick you flip, is scary at times."

Leo rolled his eyes at her and then moved closer to Lily, who was petting Momo gently as the kitty lay in her lap. Lily looked at the worried expression of her father and said, "Baba, can you take a day off tomorrow?"

Leo nodded and asked, "Yes, I definitely can, what happened?"

Snow felt something off, and asked, "Love, tell us the whole thing?"

Lily looked at her and said, "Tomorrow we have to bring our fathers to the school and then they will compete who is better."

Snow scratched even more, "Then why are you angry?"

Lily replied, "Because Lyla and Harper said that their fathers will beat my Baba. Humph, how dare they? Little brats."

As soon as she said the last two words, Leo and Snow almost failed to hold it in. Unaware, Lily continued pouring out her grievances, "Lyla’s father is a hotel owner and she said that he would cook the best food we have eaten in our lives. I mean, Ma, we are just four, why do they have to act like old people? As for that Harper, that brat thinks his Father can beat my Baba? I was just one inch away from sending him to the dentist today."

The two people were surprised and Leo asked, "Where did you learn how to talk like that Baby?"

Lily tilted her head and sweetly said, "Hehehe, Rodeo Magazine, The Lone Ranger Cartoon."

Leo looked at the ceiling and said, "I accept the couch."

Snow shook her head and replied, "No, you get the car."

Then she picked up Lily in her arms and took her inside the room to counsel her on how to talk properly and behave well which befitts her image. The young man on the other hand sighed and changed his clothes before he ate dinner with the family and honestly went to spend the night in his car.

Yes, it was him who got Lily to read the Rodeo Magazine, because it was popular when he was a child and the Lone Ranger cartoon column was his favorite growing up. Who knew that his bonding moment would trigger such a punishment. At least he could afford some gas to run the Car Ac.

As he was getting comfortable, he saw a red dot blink twice in his field of vision. Leo asked, "System, what is that?"

The System replied, ’Ping: That is the notification light host. The system sensed that earlier you were so dedicatedly listening to Lily’s thoughts, so the task issued for you was sent into the notification box for you to check later and not disturb your focus.’

Leo nodded and asked, "Can you tell me the task now?"

’Ping: Yes, Host, the task is to ensure that you complete the two tasks and while you should win, you ought to make it honorable. You cannot bully the other two people because you are stronger. You have to compete with them in human limitations. While you should be a model father for your child, you should also not traumatize the other children by demolishing their fathers. After all, children all wish to see their fathers win.’

Leo was stunned, he didn’t expect it to be something like this, however, as he got to think about for prolonged moment, he found that indeed, he might have just destroyed the first guy who came across him.

Leo thought about it, and agreed. Not like he had any other option left on his hands. He fell asleep in the car, and woke up according to his Biological clock. Then he went about his routine and got dressed in Black Shirt, Black jeans and a light grey overcoat paired up with dark brown boots.

Lily was also wearing a black jeans and a nice black cashmere wool sweater. Then Little Girl habitually came to sit in Leo’s lap and began eating from his plate while he used his hands to feed her with a doting smile. Lily always ate in his lap when there was something worrying her. After the meal, Leo patted her head and said, "Calm down, Baba is here. No?"

Lily nodded and smiled, then she turned around to look at him and fixed his collar, and said, "Baba, you are so big yet your collar is always bad."

Leo smiled and poked her nose as he said, "Don’t I have you to watch after me?"

Lily nodded and looked at Snow smugly as the latter said, "I know, I know. Your Baba loves you the most. He is a daughter slave."

Lily chuckled as Snow played along with her. Fragrance said, "No Leo was hurt in the process."

Leo rolled his eye and then they left home.

They reached the school, and then Miss Verse led them inside the classroom. Leo found that all the people have already arrived in the classroom. Lily was being held in his arms and whispered, "Baba, that uncle in Blue Tie is Lyla’s father, the uncle in white is Harper’s dad."

Leo smiled and nodded to her before setting her on the ground. The young man smiled to the rest of the fathers. Miss Verse said, "Welcome all, thank you for taking out some time from your busy schedules. Today, we will be hosting the best father competition."

The father’s were stunned and the children all cheered up. Miss Verse cheered along with the children and said, "So, we have three competitions. One is a small race around the school. Second is a cooking round. Third is arm wrestling."

The people nodded and then Miss Verse said, "What are you doing here? Lets get to the track."

Leo and the rest of the fathers went outside of the classroom and then they were taken to a play ground. Miss Verse gave them a gesture and said, "We have twenty people, so let’s do five people at a time. You will run two hundred meters. The four winners will then compete among themselves for the final round and the winner will get a star."

She took out a sticker from her pocket and the children all clapped. Leo had an amused expression on his face as he didn’t expect something like this.

He watched Harper’s father for a minute and nodded as he determined that the man with some training under his belt. The rest of the people were middle-aged business men. Miss Verse gave a signal and the race began. Leo was up in the third round and he did his best to maintain a small lead but he didn’t act much.

Harper’s father was surprised to see that Leo didn’t even break a sweat. He asked, "I didn’t expect you to be so fit, Mister Cardinal."

Leo smiled and said, "I am still falling short of you, Mister Craig."

The man smiled as he enjoyed the lip service and soon the four people from the various rounds gathered together and the winners were sent to the starting lines, where they found their children standing. Miss Verse smiled and said, "The students thought this was getting a bit too boring so here they are, adding some spice to the mix. Dear parents, you are now required to carry your child on your shoulders and then run for two hundred meters."

Some fathers looked at their fat chubby kids and took deep breaths while Leo picked up Lily and had her sit on his shoulders. He asked, "You ready captain?"

Lily replied, "Yes, ready."

She held his hair, gently. Then the four fathers took a position and Lily said, "Baba, we will win this!"

Harper looked at her and said, "My baba will defeat you, Lily, just you watch."

Miss Verse shook her head and said, "Ready, set, go!"

Then everyone saw Leo shoot off quickly and maintain a three pace lead in front of Mister Craig. One or two times he deliberately slowed down and allowed Craig to get close, but that was all an act and in the end he won the first round.
