CHAPTER 273: PREPARING THE SHIELD.

Leo and Lily came back home with a ton of stuff. Snow and the people were surprised. They have bought things for everyone. After Lily finished introducing the gifts, she sat beside Snow and said, "Ma, do you know who I met in the shopping mall?"

Snow raised her brow and asked, "Who?"

Lily then went on to narrate the entire story of how she saved Elvin from making a fool out of himself. The people listened with great enthusiasm. Leo shook his head and said, "Ladies, you all carry on, I am going to the study, I have some work to handle."

Leo went inside the study and began to make plans for the company. This time he was not going to be the hand’s off boss, he wanted to make a shield that would protect his family from mortal harm and at the same time he wanted to give Lily a stable and secure future. This was not going to be an easy thing and he knew it.

Two days passed, and Leo came to his office, only to find Percie sitting outside in the waiting lobby. He raised his brow and asked, "What is going on? Anything serious?"

Percie nodded and replied, "The Primals sold out the entire business in the Angkor City to the Lugers."

Leo raised his brows and then he asked, "Who sealed the deal?"

Percie replied, "Bishop Primal himself."

The young man nodded and replied, "Hmmm, it seems that old man would not rest until he is inside the coffin. He is doing this to attack us."

Percie nodded and asked, "What should we do?"

Leo replied, "Let’s sit down and hold a virtual meeting with all the heads of various plants."

Percie agreed and she sent out a group message and then they went inside Leo’s office. They quickly started a meeting, and Snow also came over looking at Leo in askance. He passed a paper to her and the news caused her to raise her brows in surprise. She mumbled, "This fucker can really stoop to any low."

Leo smiled and motioned her to sit down, and the young man took a deep breath before he said, "So, by now I am sure that you all must have heard the news. Right?"

The people nodded and Leo replied, "You all must have heard that this move behind the handover of business is a move against us. The Lugers are famous throughout the world. They would not give anyone a single shred of profit. So, to confirm our survival and profits, the first step is to secure the suppliers, from the ground level to the people who drive the trucks.

Buy logistic companies if you have to, contact the mine owners, and the farmers. Every single person who produces any kind of raw material for us, must be on board with us for a long term usage. Do you understand? If a single partner is snatched away, I would have you all responsible."

The people nodded firmly, the company policies have ensured that everyone involved with them would gain a lot. So their task was not as hard as it may seem to be.

Snow said, "We can try to sabotage the plants and the factories that the Lugers now have under their control."

Leo nodded and said, "Do so, but with legally sound and fool proof methods. Not a single thing should have a chink. We are not shielding the company but also our homes. Lugers are the bandits of the modern times and that much is known to all of us. Let’s do one thing, all of you go and look for the partners and spread the details of what the Lugers really are. Let the people know that if they wish to dance with the devil, they wouldn’t have the room to turn back and look at us."

The officials nodded and then Leo began to ask them about the various projects that were being tested and then he directed the people managing the business with the military to drop the word about the changes in the city. It would give the military a heads up and they would act to safeguard their own interest and dampen the spirits of the Luger management.

After the meeting was finished, Leo called Ellyse, and the call connected instantly. The lady appeared on the screen wearing her pristine official attire and Leo said, "Ellyse, I need a favor."

Ellyse shook her head and replied, "Sir, please don’t say such a thing. I work for you, just tell me what you need and I will get it done."

The young man nodded with a faint smile and said, "You are managing the spies in the Primal companies, right?"

The lady nodded and Leo said, "Give their families a good package and have them settle somewhere else with alternative jobs. While you do that, make sure they leave the Tyrant group with some big gifts. I want they to crumble apart as if they were made of limestone."

Ellyse smiled and replied, "Yes, Sir. I will handle it like that."

Leo nodded, and then he called Yelena, she was given the same instructions, all these days, she had been digging and the hole was very deep. Lugers had no idea how much Yelena knew about them.

Leo smiled and said, "Yelena, make a final move, publish all that you have on the dark shadow of the Lugers, and at the same time, deal with Dante, make sure he is no longer a threat for us."

Yelena raised her brow but then she said, "I understand Sir. It would be done."

Leo nodded and asked her a few things about her prosthetic arm and the lady replied, that she was fine and the arm was working properly.

After a few things, Snow and Leo were sitting in the office and the young lady called for a few snacks from the cafeteria and asked, "The electric car project is ready to set off, what do you think what we should do to release it to the world?"

Leo thought for a bit and replied, "Their is an endurance race for the electric cars in the world, right?"

Snow was surprised but then she nodded, and Leo said, "Good."

He raised his phone and called Percie to check the details of the race. After a few minutes, Percie called him back and told him about the details and Leo said, "Snow, have them prepare two hundred copies of all the models. From the general to the sports one. I want to have all of them race in the event. Get all the influencers on the payroll to start paying attention to these things and then lease a few vehicles, have them drive them around the city and make their content inside the camp.

I don’t care if they use to buy groceries or to wander around the city. Get them to do it for six hours a day minimum. Make the world see the vehicles."

Snow nodded and after a few more topics, she asked, "What have you decided for the upcoming event?"

Leo raised his brow and asked, "What do you mean?"

Snow replied calmly, "Have I not told you that Cherry wants you and Lily to perform on her engagement party?"

Leo asked, "What do you mean, engagement party? Elvin proposed her?"

Snow nodded with a smile and said, "It was nice."

The young man nodded and after a few minutes he said, "Well, that’s good. I will perform but it must be a duet. You will play the violin. Or forget about it."

Snow chuckled and replied, "Fine, your daughter will play the piano and we will dance."

Leo sighed and shook his head as he replied, "I doubt that jar of vinegar would be able to tolerate such a display of affection."

Snow was stunned and then couldn’t help but laugh out loud. Leo smiled and said, "Fine, we will do it like you want to do. Negotiate with Lily though."

After that, Snow left the office to handle something. Leo leaned back in the couch and contemplated a few things.

Leo reached the school doors, he was early. After parking his car, he headed to the principal’s office. The principal was surprised that Leo came to the door. He asked, "Mister Cardinal, what can I do for you?"

Leo smiled and waved his hands as he said, "You don’t have to worry so much, Principal Tanner, I didn’t come here for something special. The board of directors have agreed to create a shield system around the school. The budget wouldn’t make any cuts on the salaries, so please pass on the good news. This change would take effect after the spring break and would be implied to all the branches."

After a few minutes, Leo appeared before Miss Verse. She was leading the children outside. She greeted Leo and turned around to locate Lily, however, Leo stopped her and asked, "Miss Verse, are the children feeling better?"

The teacher was surprised to see him come forward and ask the question in person and she sighed as she said, "Yes, they are feeling better with each passing moment, Mister Cardinal, don’t worry."

Leo nodded and sighed in relief and just then he heard a sweet voice, "You all don’t know, My Baba is a rockstar. He can play the guitar like Angelo Garcia."

Leo realized, that his lovely padded jacket has dug him another hole to jump in.
