CHAPTER 279: MAMA AIN’T EASY.

Sparks flew the moment the two ladies exchanged words. They did have smile on their faces, but the cold gaze they both had was flashing with something that caused the people around them to shiver. They didn’t have an single clue what was going on between the two people and how they should react in this situation.

Matilda didn’t expect that Snow would be coming at her with such blatant and naked aggression. However, just when she was about to douse the latter with a cold bucket of water, the blonde asked, "I heard that Lady Luger had a terrible fall and her jaw broke as a result. To see that you have regained your ability to speak in such a small time, this is astonishing."

Snow surely knew where to stab to induce the maximum pain but not killing the prey. Leo didn’t marry a vase, Snow was an equal to him if not more when it came to threat to enemy.

Matilda sensed the faint pain in her jaw intensify all of a sudden. She glared at Snow and said, "I hope you enjoy your time here, Mrs. Cardinal."

Snow nodded to the man and after a few minutes, Matilda was standing on a small stage, she had invited the people for the inauguration of the Luger Group stepping inside the Clover Nation. Matilda gave a speech filled with how she dreamt of making the Luger Group a synonym of prosperity and success.

Stellar Primal was also present at the event, and she was gazing at Snow with knowing gaze. Leo had already informed her about the situation and she was ready to make a move when Snow made her move. After the speech and the basic introduction of who’s who in the company management, Snow stood up, and turned around to greet a few people before she clarified her intention.

Her departure before the congratulatory banquet was something that caused a stir in the elite crowd. However, Snow replied to them with a smile, "I apologize, Lady Luger, I have some work to handle so I would be taking my leave."

Matilda Luger didn’t care much about Snow, she just nodded and didn’t say anything. Suddenly, as Snow was leaving many people decided to escort her to the entrance. The driver had come over with the sedan. The people all couldn’t help but look at the vehicle and they all raised their brows.

Cars were a man’s pleasure, and they all couldn’t help but look interested. Someone asked, "President Snow, what car is this?"

Snow smiled and replied, "This is a vehicle produced by the Cardinal Automotive."

The people were stunned, and Snow asked, "Do you like it?"

The man nodded and asked, "It looks very good, is it a luxury segment model?"

Snow nodded and replied, "President Tanner, you sure have an eye for your cars. Would you like to take a test drive?"

President Tanner was surprised by the offer, he was certainly curious about this vehicle, but he had no idea what to say. Snow smiled and replied, "Allow me to tell you something that would help you make the decision."

Tanner looked at her and Snow replied, "This vehicle is electric and also eco-friendly, we made it from recycled metal, the interior of the vehicle is made from high level synthetic leather. There is also some wood used inside. How about it, sounds good right?"

The man thought for a bit and his curiosity got better of him. He said, "Yes, I would like to see this vehicle."

Snow gestured for the man to see the vehicle for himself. However, the other people frowned and one of them said, "President Snow, this is unfair, why does old man Tanner gets to ride it. We also wish to see the vehicle."

Snow smiled and replied, "You all can see the vehicle as well. Leo anticipated the fact that all of you would like to see the vehicle. So, a fleet would be waiting for us outside. If you all wish to try it, shall I call them over?"

The people nodded, and they unconsciously abandoned the inauguration ceremony. Snow called the number on her phone and one after the other cars began to drive over at the main gate of the new Luger Group office. After a few minutes, the people that had come to see Snow off were all sitting inside the new vehicle and they were talking a test drive.

The takeover was successful, and Snow was smiling in triumph as she leaned back in her car as they drove out. The drivers have been trained they explained each and every aspect of the car to the people. Ten such vehicles have been enough to fit almost two dozen people and give them an experience that would change the perception.

After half an hour, the rich people were surprised and astounded by the quality of the vehicle. They were all praises and the motorcade gathered a lot of gazes from the people. Suddenly, just when the people thought the test drive is over, they found out that Leo Cardinal held a press release where he unveiled the Dolphin, and he also unveiled the track videos of the vehicle.

The crowd had gone nuts, and Snow looked at Stellar who was sitting behind her. She asked, "What do you think Stellar? This slap on her face would hurt, right?"

Stellar smiled and replied, "Snow, I never thought you would reveal the edge of the sword. This was not a slap, but you have left a gash on her face for everyone to see. I hope you are ready for the war that is to come."

Snow nodded calmly, as she said, "The Cardinals all believe that a strong attack is the best defense, and for the things she did against my daughter, she is lucky, very lucky that Leo didn’t skin her alive and made realize that death could be an act of mercy."

Stellar shivered, she didn’t doubt this even once. She had seen how fervently Leo cared for his family, the end of her half brother, Carole was an example. Leo dared to break inside a police precinct and break that man out only to kill the latter. Even then it didn’t feel like that was Leo’s limit.

Stellar asked, "What do you intend to do with the Luger Group now?"

Snow replied calmly, "We have been digging and things are now within grasp. The moment Luger Group lists in the public, that would be the day they would fall. For that, I think a month would be needed. Many people would be willing to cooperate with them, after all, Luger is not a small name in the world."

Stellar nodded and replied, "While you do have to engage with the Lugers at the forefront, beware of Bishop. That old coot is not the one who would sit out from this power struggle."

Snow hummed thoughtfully before she said, "All I have in my mind is the fact that if Bishop tried to push his hand, then Leo will handle them before dealing with the Lugers."

Stellar nodded, and then they parted ways. Snow returned home directly after everything and she found Lily and Symphony playing the piano diligently. She changed her clothes and sat down on the couch listening to the music. It was lunch time when Leo came back to the house and took out a box from his pocket.

Snow raised her brow and asked, "What is this?"

Leo replied, "The gift I picked up for you to congratulate the successful first blood."

Snow smiled at him and Leo revealed a ruby ring inside the box. He said, "This is the red rose ring. Only fifteen of these exist in the world, I have bought out the one that resided in the Clover Nation. I know that pleasing you ain’t easy."

Lily walked over from the side, and looked at the ring with glee on her face. She leaned closer to Leo and asked, "Who is this ring for?"

Leo replied, "For your Ma, she has done a great job today."

Lily tilted her head in confusion and asked, "What job?"

Leo thought put on a thoughtful expression and said, "She has landed the first blow at a very mean enemy."

Lily nodded slowly and then said, "Good job, Ma."

Snow smiled and replied, "Thank you, my love."

Then she scooped Lily in her arms and the little girl asked, "Who was this enemy? Was it hard to deal with her?"

Snow pecked her nose and replied to her questions one after the other without even the slightest of impatience. After listening to everything, Lily looked at Snow in surprise and said, "Baba, Ma ain’t so easy to deal with, right?"

Leo chuckled and replied in affirmation, after all, he knew that Lily was making the correct assessment of her mother. It might have been his idea, but the execution of the idea was all credit to Snow. The war with the Luger family had begun.
