CHAPTER 297: SHADOW KILLS. (1)

Leo finished immobilizing the lady and then climbed down the tree after informing Markus to head back as the person might bleed out if he delayed too long. Then he made his way towards the target but even now he was searching the surrounding area, as this was near the national border and there could be some surprise patrols or hidden cameras.

Thankfully the glasses he was wearing had all these sensors that would help him detect such things and avoid them. After ten minutes, Leo reached the spot where the lady was laying on the ground in a puddle of blood. His bullets penetrated her body and went through it. This caused the blood loss to increase.

Leo crouched down and found that the lady has lost consciousness, and he took out a small first aid kit from his jacket and stuffed the wounds with some high absorbent cotton stumps and bandaged them a little before he picked her up from the back of her neck and walked away from the spot.

His movements didn’t leave behind a single mark, and he made sure to not disturb the scene even a little, it was as if he was never even present here. The young man reached the landing point and then placed the lady against a tree stump. This clearing was natural, seemed to be the result of a lightning strike.

Leo stood across the lady, his finger did not move away from the trigger, and just when he was thinking about what he should do with this lady, he heard the fluttering sound of the rotor blade cutting through the void. Sure enough, lifting his head he found the chopper heading over.

After five minutes, they were on their way back to the Angkor City and Markus asked, "Sir, what would you do with her?"

Leo shrugged his shoulders and said, "I had originally wanted to kill her, but then I thought how it would become a national level debacle if her body was discovered by the government. This could really cause a lot of trouble for us. I am not going to underestimate the investigative agencies of the nation, they might narrow things down to us. So, I decided to immobilize her and bring her back. You can handle her any way you want."

Markus nodded, however, Leo was worried about something else, he had yet to receive any notification from the system. He thought of something and redeemed a truth serum from the system store for ten million yuan and fed it to the lady. His movement was calm but firm.

The truth serum was expensive and it had a special way of action, it could enable the person to answer to what the administrator asks even when unconscious. Leo looked at Markus, the latter was wearing headphones so he could not hear anything from the cabin.

Leo asked, "Are you Silent Shadow?"

The lady replied, "No."

Leo frowned and asked, "Do you work for Silent Shadow?"

"Yes." Said the lady.

Leo understood that this lady was another cover set up by the assassin and now he might be located because of this. He asked, "Where is Silent Shadow?"

The lady replied groggily, "She is living in the Angkor City for the past few days."

Leo furrowed his brow and asked, "Where is she living?"

The impostor replied, "Candor Heights, room 707."

Leo hummed, and then he carefully checked the lady for all and any hidden devices on her person and then said, "Good. Is she alone?"

The impostor nodded and Leo said, "Markus, I have one good news and a bad news, which one first?"

Markus replied, "Sir, the bad one."

Leo nodded and replied calmly, "This person is not Silent Shadow."

Markus cussed and asked, "The good news, sir?"

Leo answered, "We have the idea where the real person is located."

Markus nodded and sighed, "Fine, that is some consolation."

Leo nodded slowly, indeed, it was troublesome but they would do what they needed to do without holding back. The young man decided not to delay anything, and called up Kyle. The latter answered and Leo said, "Take a team, scout the Candor Heights, and stealthily kidnap a target living in the apartment 707. Be careful the target is armed and very dangerous. There could be traps and stuff over there."

Kyle thought and replied, "I will take care of it, Sir."

Leo nodded and the call disconnected. Markus smiled and said, "Don’t worry, Sir, Kyle may not seem like it but he is one of the best that exist in the company. His skills are very high."

Kyle prepared a team, and they all wore casual clothes. First, two people went to the Candor Heights, they didn’t use the SUV, but they took different taxis and moved past the place in quick successions to confirm that the target didn’t have any sentries posted in the area. Then Kyle called Milo and asked him to find out the locations of the cameras placed on the building. After the hacking was complete.

Then two men went inside the building, pretending to be interested in renting out the flat listed on the fifth floor. They followed an agent and then looked around for sometime before asking for a flat placed on a higher floor. The agent shook his head and the two men came out of the building. Then one of them called Milo, and asked, "I placed that device near the security room, can you access the cameras?"

Milo replied, "Yes, everything is on, we can move in. Have you secured the back door?"

The guard looked at his partner and said, "Yes, it is clear."

Kyle heard the discussion and they moved in from the back door while the guards posing as tenants distracted the guard with silly questions. Kyle led the team of four people up to the seventh floor through the fire exit staircase.

Kyle took the lead and checked the area before moving in. The floor was filled with occupants, they had done thorough research about this place, and so, Kyle had to be extra careful. They moved through the corridor, and reached the door at the end. Kyle checked the place and gave a signal.

One of the people stepped forward and slid a thin wire inside from the space at the bottom of the door. It was an extra fine endoscope, and they used it to check for traps and bombs. Then he retracted the camera, and moved closer to the lock. This guy was the breach expert, and within a few minutes, he cracked the lock by using an injection of liquid nitrogen that was stored in a special vial.

Kyle gave the door a slightly stronger push and the door opened with a click. He went inside with a quick sweeping action holding his hand gun and his team followed him. They spread around the house. There were three rooms in the house, excluding the kitchen and the living room. They quickly cleared the kitchen and the living room before they made a simultaneous breach in the three rooms.

Suddenly, Kyle found one person seemingly asleep in the bed, but he didn’t lower his guard and pulled out a stun gun from his side holster and fired it directly onto the person. The person spasmed a bit before Kyle stopped and checked onto the person.

Just when he was wondering if this was the right target, a voice sounded from behind him, "Boss, in the other room, there is a wall covered with some pictures of Young Miss and the rest of the family."

Kyle’s gaze turned cold and he said, "Check the bathrooms and take this person away, right now. Also, have Simon post some people to observe this house in case this woman has an accomplice. Also alert Zeenat about this."

The team got to handle things, while Kyle picked up the lady over his shoulder and moved out of the room. The man behind him scoured the room to find out if there were any guns or explosives hidden in the place. Then they cleared the place out and left. Everything happened within ten minutes.

Simon also moved after getting a call, and had his men watch the place from several locations. He was nothing less than a criminal genius when it came to doing shady things. Leo exploited these qualities really well.

Simon also took an initiative to give Kyle a place where they could keep the captive.

On the other side, Leo and Markus came back to the city when the sun was about to set. The young man received the news that Kyle and his people captured someone from the house, but even now their was no notification. Leo frowned and he couldn’t point out what he was missing. When he was thinking if he should use another truth serum or not, his phone rang. It was an unknown number. Leo had a gut feeling but he didn’t pick it up, and he gestured for Markus, who came over and picked up the call on his behalf.

Leo wanted to confirm something by doing this, because the game was still on.
