CHAPTER 299: MASTERMIND.

Leo ran along the roads, and he was quickly moving to reach the safe house. He stopped in front of the gate where two people were standing guard. They saw Leo standing before them with some sweat on his forehead and they bowed to him. Leo looked at him and asked, "Are they here?"

The two guards nodded and replied, "Yes, Sir."

Leo nodded and turned around to find Lily coming over with a fleece jacket. She gave it to him and said, "Baba, wear it, it is cold. If you caught cold then I would be worried."

The young man smiled and then put on the jacket as they entered the place. Leo found that the place was well heated and the guards were safely looking over three people. Among the three people, one was laying in a bed, with an IV drip attached to her left arm. she was extensively bandaged after being shot in the limbs.

The other two were sitting on their chairs. One of the people that Leo didn’t know about was a lady with ginger hair, however, he knew that she was the mastermind of this whole situation.

Leo walked over to the three people and Kyle picked up a chair and placed it before him, and the young man sat down on it. He took sat down on the chair and asked the new comer, "So, you are the Silent Shadow?"

The lady turned around to look at the man and nodded, she raised her hands and talked with him by making signs. Lily asked, "Baba, what is she doing?"

Leo replied to her calmly, "She is using sign language. Baby, go practice with Sis Zee."

Lily sensibly nodded and cast a prolonged gaze at the ginger head lady and walked away to practice boxing with Zeenat. Leo looked at Markus, who gestured for Milo to come over. Milo looked at the lady and then said, "I will be your interpreter."

The young lady nodded and waved her hands once more, before Milo said, "She says her name is Kris. She was born with savant syndrome."

Leo nodded and asked, "So, what caused you to get into the world of killers?"

Kris replied, ’I was abandoned by my parents, and grew up in an orphanage, with Misty and Cleo. However, living outside the orphanage was not easy. I had talent in computers, while Misty excelled in athletics and Cleo was very good at chess. So, driven by curiosity I entered the dark web and found a bounty list. So, we planned everything together and went on from there.’

Leo nodded and asked, "I have seen your track record, you have been taking on requests to deal with people who have done bad things, so, why did you take on the hit against me?"

Kris replied calmly, ’I needed money, Cleo is sick. We have not earned this much money."

Leo sighed and replied, "What illness is it?"

Kris replied with her signs, ’Tumor in chest wall.’

Leo nodded and replied, "If you work with me, I will give your friend the treatment she needs. as for your friend Misty, I will ensure that her body heals hundred percent."

Kris was surprised and questioned, ’Why are you helping me? I tried to kill you.’

Leo shook his head and denied, before he replied, "No, you tried to kill me because you needed money to treat your friend."

Kris thought for a longer minute and replied, ’Fine, but you will have to treat my friends first.’

Leo nodded in agreement and said, "Agreed."

He stretched out his hand, but Kris just looked at it and didn’t shake it with him. Leo smiled as he understood what was going on, and nodded to her. Since she had savant syndrome she was extremely uncomfortable with physical interaction with other people.

Leo stood up from the chair and said, "Markus, arrange for their treatments. Also, have Miss Kris settle down in the hotel for now, later arrange a villa for the three of them to live together. When you are done with this, come and find me at home. I want to deal with that warlord."

Milo said, "Sir, Miss Kris said that she can help you with that warlord."

Leo turned around to look at Kris and the latter was waving her hands weaving signs one after the other, ’I can help you kill that man, he has sinned a lot by killing innocent people in his territory and his people have killed many innocent men for money. So, he deserves to die.’

Leo asked, "How would you help me?"

Kris scratched the back of her head and said, ’I will need a high processing computer setup and then I can direct one of the drones from the government of the country to deal an airstrike on the location.’

Leo shook his head and replied, "No, too ostentatious. Here we like to keep things low key. One sweep team should be enough. Right, Markus?"

Markus smiled and replied, "I will lead them personally, and it would be fine."

Leo nodded and said, "Kris, I would like to use your expertise in a different manner. I have a big department that is researching on advanced computer technology. So, if you have any insights, I would like to hire you for a high salary and better bonuses. You would be a special researcher and have a normal life. Your friends can work in other companies and departments of the company and they will be treated fairly as well. I only expect your loyalty in return."

Kris thought for a bit and nodded, as she asked, ’Can I work from home?’

Leo chuckled and agreed to this request. Then he turned around and walked over to Lily who was practicing, as he heard a notification in his mind, ’Ping: You avoided unnecessary bloodshed, and you gained a strong connection. This shows that you have grown strong in your intellect. You have gained twelve merit points. Five for saving Cleo and Kris, two for Misty because you shot her.’

Leo smiled, he didn’t mind gaining merit points as they would help towards the fortune of his unborn child. He said, "Champ, are you done practicing?"

Lily turned around and nodded, as Leo said, "Good, let’s go home. Your Ma would be wondering where we have gone."

Zeenat replied calmly, "Sir, I have already informed her when she called me earlier."

Leo smiled and said, "Thank you."

Lily followed him as they walked out of the place, and the little girl said, "Baba, I want to make a snow man with you."

Leo smiled and replied, "Yes, I will help you."

’Ping: Host, your daughter wants to make a snowman, create a unique snowman with her. Reward: Based on the uniqueness of the culture, you would gain a technological breakthrough.’

Leo smiled and pulled the door of the car as he helped Lily get into her children car seat before he sat beside her and Kyle and Zeenat drove the vehicle. Kyle asked, "Sir, why did you hire her?"

Leo replied, "Do you know that people with Savant syndrome are rare, and some of them are excellent in different fields. Kris has expertise in computers, if used correctly, she would be a great addition to us. Secondly, her reason behind this action was to save her friend. If this is not the indication of a good character, then what is?"

Lily nodded and said, "Someone willing to sin so that they could protect their friends, that’s rare."

Leo nodded and patted Lily’s head gently and replied, "My baby is so smart. Tell Uncle Kyle not to be a victim to his experience."

Lily nodded and replied, "Yes, Uncle Kyle, don’t be like this, if I found out that those three ladies have suffered because of you, then, then, I will not drink my milk and Ma will scold you."

Kyle was stunned and Leo chuckled at this heartily. Zeenat drove them all the way back to the house, and the first thing they heard after going inside was Snow, "Oh, so the defiant duo has finally found time to come home and look at their mother and wife."

Leo took off his shoes and walked up to her quickly as he said, "I apologize, is everything alright?"

Snow turned her head away and said, "I want a better car, a super luxury sedan and nothing else."

Leo was surprised but then he noticed a smile in Snow’s eyes, and said, "Yes, I will get you the Royal Chariot. That is the best automobile in the world. The best suspensions and luxury. It is very spacey as well."

The young man took a deep breath and Lily walked up to her, and asked while bawling her eyes out, and she said, "Ma!!"

Leo was shocked to see such a reaction from Lily, and the little girl continued, "Ma, you need to be a little soft, Baba just got three women to come and work for the company. You need to be mindful or the cabbage will be stolen."

Leo realized that Lily is a potential mastermind as well.
