CHAPTER 310: WAR SONG.

Leo patted Lily’s head and then gave a look to Harry Shrine, before he walked over to the stage. His aura, and temperament was very likeable, and several people began to whisper and pay attention to him. Leo shook hands with Hakase, and said, "Thank you."

The Pianist smiled and gestured for Leo to take the seat. The young man sat down and adjusted the stool a bit before he flexed and stretched his fingers. The exercise lasted for three minutes, and caused many people to raise brows, however, they also observed Hakase, who nodded with a faint smile.

Leo was stretching his fingers and warming them up. The song he was about to play was called the War Song for a reason. Watching him warm up, Hakase held the mic and said, "Some of you might not have heard of this song. The War Song is one of the most demanding pieces in the piano world. We often call it a roller-coaster song, and it is very demanding on the fingers. So, please be patient. One mistake can lead to a sprain in your fingers and that’s very painful."

The people nodded and after that Leo stretched his arms for a second before his fingers landed on the piano. The notes rang out and the people immediately opened their eyes wide. It was a clear and deep sound. The tempo was slow, but then it began to climb, after one minute, the people were surprised, they could not tell if it was even the same piece.

Stefan Grimm and the rest of the people on his table were shocked, and Lily was listening with her eyes closed and her little fingers were floating on the table. She was trying to mimic while sitting there, and her movements didn’t go unnoticed. She didn’t care if anyone could understand what she was doing but this was the method that she used at home to keep up with Leo and his teachings many times, by visualizing.

The song continued and the people were shocked, Harry and his friends couldn’t understand the essence of this song, and they frowned. Harry was observing Hakase, and he found that the latter was not frowning or showing any signs that would discredit this performance. On the contrary, he was listening without any expression on his face, he was drawn into this performance asserting that Leo was indeed good.

Harry clenched his fingers and he turned to look at Lily, he thought this girl was Leo’s weakness, and so after some thinking, his eyes flashed with a spark before he turned to look back on the stage. After a complete ten minutes, the song came to an end, and many ladies had shallow tears in their eyes. Hakase took the lead to applaud and he woke up all the people.

Leo stood up from the stool, and the people gave him a thundering applause. They all even stood up from their chairs, because when Leo bowed to the crowd Hakase came up and hugged the man and patted his back with a frevor before he bowed to Leo and they made small talk on the stage. Lily sat back down and focused on her meal. She had yet to finish savoring the food.

She didn’t like the meals made by other people but for the sake of image she kept on eating. Leo came back to the table and just when he was about to sit down, he heard Harry speaking, "Master Cardinal, I was indeed correct. You are indeed a talent on the piano."

Leo didn’t even bother to reply to his compliment. It was simple, he had drawn a line with this man and the only way he would communicate was when he beats him to a pulp. Harry didn’t mind the silence and said, "Well, if you stay quite the people would think that you are petty."

Leo replied calmly, "It doesn’t matter what the world thinks, but I am resolved to not pay attention to you."

He was so blunt that many of the nobles flinched at this behavior. It wasn’t as if they have never faced conflicts but they always kept up appearances. Leo didn’t bother with them and Harry narrowed his gaze and asked, "I see, well I only intended good. Your daughter was just now moving her fingers when you were playing the piano, I thought if I mentioned this, then maybe Maestro Hakase would give her a few tips."

He wanted to poke a reaction out of Leo, however, both Leo and Lily were silently eating their food, and at this moment, Hakase, who had come back to sit on a nearby table heard this and asked, "Young Miss Cardinal, are you using visualization technique?"

Lily replied calmly, "Yes, Sir. It helps me understand the timing of my finger placement better."

Hakase replied, "It is indeed a good method. Maybe some other day you can play a song for me."

Lily smiled and replied, "I can play a song for you, right now, Sir."

The people were surprised, they didn’t expect Lily to be so confident, after all, she was talking to a Maestro. Leo looked at Lily and said, "Go, play something for everyone."

Lily nodded and got off the table before heading to the piano calmly. Lily seemed to be a complete copy of her father, Leo was also a man with great disposition. They could not help but feel that the children of their houses were not comparable to Lily.

The little girl sat down on the stool and clapped her hands, before she began to play a piece that was called Variations. He movements and pace was impeccable. Hakase has heard many people play this and even some child prodigies have performed before him in competitions, but Lily had a grace and conviction that the others lacked.

The music lasted for seven minutes, and the people clapped for her. The little girl stood up from the stool, and bowed to everyone before rushing back to Leo and looked at him with anticipation. Leo smiled, picked her up in his arms and made her sit in his lap as he said, "It was smooth, clear, and enjoyable. I loved it."

Lily giggled and said, "Thank you, Baba, I also enjoyed your song."

The father and daughter didn’t care much about the others, but Hakase said while he raised a glass of wine, "Master Cardinal, Young Miss Lily, with all these years in the field, I can tell you that, even in the professional circuit, there are only a few who can match your skills. Young Miss Lily is young and I can already place her in the top ten junior players. If you ever practice to excel, then I assure you, in a few years, I would be the first to buy your concerto tickets."

Lily chuckled and replied, "Maestro Hakase, it is a good thing Baba is holding me, or I would have started flying from your compliment."

The people chuckled and Leo drank wine with Hakase, a few people had already investigated him and they also toasted to him because to them, Leo appeared to be a magante who can help them enter the Clover Nation Markets.

The dinner came to an end, and Stefan said, "Master Cardinal, tomorrow, we should hold a meeting and clear up the rest of the nuisance."

Leo thought about it and he nodded before he asked, "Would your family agree to it?"

Stefan nodded confidently before he replied, "I will make sure that they agree."

Leo saw this and replied, "Fine, I will come to meet you in the morning then."

Stefan then saw them off, and Leo said, "Kyle, drive fast and loss the tail. These people are starting to get on my nerves now."

Kyle nodded and replied, "Yes, Sir."

The cars zoomed through the traffic and they quickly reached the hotel. Leo had Zeenat quickly take Lily inside, while he and Kyle locked gazes with a bike rider who managed to keep up with them. Leo narrowed his gaze and said, "I hope they don’t cross any limit or they will pay in blood."

After a few minutes, Leo was sitting in the hotel suite and Lily was chirping about the events to Snow. The two of them were so engrossed that Lily didn’t even bother with Leo as he changed her clothes and sorted her hair. After half an hour, they stopped and Snow asked, "Love, what do you think?"

Leo replied, "I am thinking that Harry Shrine has been doing a lot to vent, and now that I am here, within his range, he would find it hard to stop himself, and he would do something stupid. When he does, I will counter, and I will counter strong."

Snow sighed and replied, "Just come back, let the Grimm family fend for themselves."

Leo shook his head and replied, "No, it is now about pride and reputation of the family. Coming back would only make the people feel that Harry Shrine was correct. I am no coward, and he needs to pay a price."
