CHAPTER 315: ATTITUDE.

Leo came back to the room with a bowl of soup, then he helped Lily sit up properly, and brought the table closer to her. At this moment, his phone rang, and he found it was Snow. He picked up the call and Snow shot off, "Where is Lily?"

Leo turned the camera to her, and then he said, "She is fine now, is eating. I will take her back in the noon."

Snow hummed before she asked, "Lily, are you okay?"

Lily raised her head and nodded before she replied, "Yes, Ma. I am fine. The Doctor said that I fainted from the sudden stress buildup."

Snow was still not convinced and she asked, "What about the bleeding from your nose?"

Lily replied after a sigh, "It was caused by stress also, my blood pressure increased quite a bit."

Snow fell silent before she said, "Leo, bring her back home."

Leo turned the phone to face Snow and said, "Yes. I will bring her back, but before that, I will make sure that this city pays the price."

Snow and Lily both were shocked, the former asked, "What do you mean?"

The young man replied calmly, "The media people have been haunting us. They are still sitting outside the hospital. I will address them and when I do that, I will make sure that the world knows what is going on with the people here."

Snow wanted to stop him but then she asked, "I watched the news, Shrine Family Mansion is gone, and so is the young heir. What is that all about?"

Leo shook his head and replied, "It is what it is. However, I don’t believe that such a cruel man would die so easily."

Snow looked at Leo from the screen, and she could decipher that it could have been Leo who was behind all this. Snow asked, "What would you do if you caught him?"

Leo shook his head and replied, "I will make him beg for death but I will not give it to him. He will beg me over and over again, but it will not happen."

Snow nodded slowly. None of them were gullible children who believed in sparing the enemy that was down and done for. Lily was the reverse scale for both of them, and if someone was to come after Lily, that person was destined to suffer a fate worse than death.

Leo said, "I will erase the Shrine Family. They pride themselves to be a business mogul right? In the coming few months, their would be no Shrine Family."

Snow nodded in agreement, she didn’t mind Leo’s aggression. On the contrary, if Leo didn’t do anything to the people, then she would have been pissed. This was an unspoken understanding and vibe match of the two people, they didn’t make grand gestures, but when they made moves it was almost similar.

Snow replied, "I will start the attack from her, right away."

Leo nodded slowly, and Lily said, "Baba, I finished the soup. When can we go back? This place is very gloomy."

The young man smiled and replied, "I will get the doctor to check on you, and then we will go."

After a few minutes, Lily finally pacified Snow, and disconnected the call before the doctor came inside the room, to give her a check-up. Lily was cleared to go back and then Leo went down to clear up all the procedure.

The Doctor said, "Mister Cardinal, I heard from the staff that you made a soup in the kitchen here."

Leo nodded and the doctor said, "The kids seem to like it a lot, can you give us the recipe?"

Leo smiled and said, "Yes, I will pass it on."

The Doctor thanked Leo for the magnanimity and said, "Your daughter is fine, but please try to avoid stressful situations around her."

Leo nodded in understanding and then he took the prescription for the medicinal subscription before he finished dealing with things and carried Lily in his arms as they left. Stefan Grimm had also come over with his wife Susan. The couple extended the invitation to have Leo and his people stay at their mansion but Leo refused and said, "It’s okay, the hotel is better because it would not trouble you, and both of us would be more comfortable."

Stefan Grimm nodded in understanding, Leo didn’t wish to engage much with the nobles. After all, if they had ties with the people in the circle, that would be the Marlin family, but the latter had yet to reach out to even make a query. They had attended the charity gala, but apart from exchanging a gaze, they had no interaction with Leo or Lily.

Leo carried Lily in his arms and as soon as he came out of the hospital threshold, they were swarmed by the reporters, but the guards moved in quickly and formed a protection barrier by holding hands. Kyle and Zeenat stood right in front of Leo blocking them from the camera shutters.

Leo looked around and the aura from his gaze caused the people to calm down. He asked, "What do you all want to know?"

One of the ladies at the front directly asked, "Mister Cardinal, I hope that your daughter is fine now, but can you tell us what you felt when you heard about the incident?"

Leo looked at the lady and said calmly, "My daughter is fine now. Lily say ’hi’ to them."

Lily raised her head and waved her hand to the cameras before she went back to hug her father, she was putting up a brave front but she was still slightly shaken and the crowd was giving her anxiety.

Leo said, "For your second question, I felt like someone has put a knife through my heart. I felt rage towards the shitty security and then I felt pity for the government who let the corruption grow so much that a bunch of people acquired military grade tech, and waltzed inside the capital. If not for the sake of the normal people, the royal family of the nation lives here, at least for their sake the standards should have been higher, right? Anyhow, it was a disappointing experience to visit here to help people get a better life and chances to thrive, but then my own daughter was targeted by a person of a noble stature, then what about your own children? Tch. Forget it."

That said, he turned around and then boarded his vehicle directly before heading to the hotel without caring about the crowd behind him. The emotions he wanted to convey had been put across rather precisely. It was not going to cause trouble for the culprits, but the government would surely bear the tide of public opinion.

Within an hour, the video of his statement went viral in the stag nation and many people began to organize protests and petitions were filed to handle the matter properly and the proofs to be made public. The Shrine family was a business family and after this uproar, they had yet to locate the body of their heir, when the government and media began to pressurize them.

Not only that, on the business front, Ellyse had called in some favors and deals to create trouble for the Shrine Group. Not only that, many major enterprises and companies from the Clover Nation also backed off, because they saw Leo as a young talent who had been contributing towards the national growth selflessly and he was also a Sigil Family.

They stepped up to use this moment to gain his favor and gain some collaborative chances in the national market where Cardinal Group was dominating everyone. Leo learned this all from Percie and Little Cherry and told them to take note of this and reward the people later on.

Elvin also joined the front, he began to manipulate the situation in the Stag Nation Market. However, this was not all friendly, using this movement to her gain, Matilda Luger made some moves and tried to create trouble with some of their projects. Thankfully the people have always been on guard against them, and so the situations were countered aptly.

Leo didn’t care about any of this, he just focused on rejuvenating Lily and he told her clear, "If you always fear that something bad is going to happen, it will keep you from enjoying life. I know that it was really scary when they fired at you, but you all are safe. You were strong enough to stay calm and find a way to not get trapped. No?"

Lily nodded calmly as Leo fastened her shoes and said, "Love, I will always protect you, but if one day I am away, what would you do? In that moment, you should stand firm and fight it out. Life will never get easy, so you get tougher, and stronger."

Lily looked at his face, and she nodded before she said, "I will do my best, but can you get some sleep? Your eyes, they have dark circles Baba, and it pains me."

The father and daughter had a tough attitude towards other people, but towards each other, they were as soft as a cotton cloud.
