“Unfortunately, just in time to see Edward leaving,” Adrian said.

My eyshes drooped slightly: “You saw something embarrassing.”

Adrian raised his hand, gently brushing the snow from my hair: “What are you talking about? We’re good friends who grew up together, aren’t we?”

I nodded with tears in my eyes.

Then I asked: “Did youe here for something?”

“Mary asked me toe,” Adrian said.

After hearing this, I understood what Mary was trying to do. As Adrian was about to enter the house, I reached out and grabbed the corner of his clothes.

“Adrian, don’t mind what Mary said to you. She’s worried about me and wants to find someone to take care of bme/b.”

“But I don’t need anyone to take care of me. I can take care of others now.”

Adrian patted my head, “What are you thinking? We’re good friends. Mary just asked me toe over for dinner.”

Seeing this, my face instantly turned red with embarrassment – I had misunderstood.

I thought Mary was trying to get Adrian and me together, which was why she kept creating opportunities for us.

But I’m pregnant now, and I really don’t want to dy Adrian from finding his own mate.

“Alright, I’ll go buy groceriester. Tell me what you want to eatb./b”

Seeing me suddenly rx, Adrian felt particrly ufortable inside.

“Anything’s fine. I love whatever you make.”

Adrian thought of something and spoke again: “I happened to drive here. Shall we go buy groceries together?”

“Okay.”

I got in the car. While shopping, Adrian received a call from his friend Benjamin.

“I’m busy. What is it?”

“I’m at yourpany. What are you busy with?”

Adrian said impatiently: “Buying groceries with Aurora. We’re having dinner together tonight.”

“Didn’t you say Ferris is staying at her ce?” Benjamin’s mouth could fit an egg. “You should have some morals. He’s still Aurora’s husband after all. Going there to be the third party isn’t moral…”

Adrian hung up directly.

Benjamin had spoken too quickly and immediately called back: “Sorry, my bad I have serious business.”

Only then did Adrian patiently listen to him continue.

“Didn’t you ask me to steal all of Vargan Group’s recent projects? Everything went smoothly at first, but one recent project was discovered. Ferris dealt harshly with those of us stealing business.”

Adrian didn’t tell Benjamin that the current president of Vargan Group was a fake.

On the other side, Ferris heard footsteps and a man’s voice outside the door.

His brows furrowed slightly as he got up from the bedroom.

Adrian and I had just returned from buying groceries at the supermarket.

Cold air rushed in from outside as Ferris slowly spoke: “Aurora, do we have a est?”

Before I could answer, Adrian’s lips curved upward.

“Ferris, it’s me,

Adrian.”

Ferris’s expression changed slightly.

I walked forward: “I’ll go cook. You two chat.”

“I’ll help you.”

T help you.”

Both voices spoke simultaneously.

I had already walked to the kitchen door and was about to refuse both of them when I heard Adrian say: “Ferris can’t see, so I should help you,

Aurora.”

Ferris’s handsome face looked even more sour.

Seeing this, I thought that Ferris indeed couldn’t see and couldn’t really help me, bso /bI went with the flow.

“Alright.”

Adrian looked at Ferris smugly, then followed me to the kitchen.

Ferris stood alone in the living room, listening to the two of us chatting andughing in the kitchen, feeling particrly ufortable.

If he could see, he really wanted to punch Adrian right now.

Ferris clenched his fists, and memory fragments somehow surfaced in his mind – actually showing him hitting Adrian.

Had he attacked Adrian before?

Just as he was trying hard to recover more memories, he couldn’t remember anything more no matter how hard he tried.

Ten minutester.

In the dining room, the atmosphere was particrly strange.

Mary had specifically called Adrian over to make Ferris understand that he was the unnecessary one.

So she deliberately had Adrian and me sit together, with Ferris sitting across from us.

“Mary, is your health better?” Adrian asked familiarly.

Mary looked kindly: b“/bMuch better.b” /b

After dinner, Adrian was leaving, and I walked him out.

“Goodbye.”

“Mm.”

Adrian looked at me deeply for a long time before turning to leave.

After getting in his car and driving for a while, arge vehicle suddenly blocked his path, and more than ten thugs got out.

Adrian’s eyes tightened.

Not far from him, Simon sat in a low–key ck sedan, picked up his phone, and directed the leader:

b“/bTeach this reckless fool a good lesson.”

After Adrian returned with me, he had received a call from Ferris and then sent people to block Adrian at a necessary intersection.
