As the Alpha of Silver Moon Pack, Ferris had several multinational enterprises der him and definitely wasn’t short of money.

Thinking this, Nigel drove directly to the Vargan Group building.

He had been worried that Ferris wouldn’t see him, but unexpectedly, after receptionist spoke with the CEO office secretary by phone. Ferris actually let hime upstairs.

What Nigel didn’t know was that the person sitting in the CEO office wasn’t he brother–inw Ferris at all, but Ferris’s twin brother Dennis.

Nigel walked toward the distinguished Dennis in front of him. Dennis looked at him: “What do you want from me?”

“I’d like you to sponsor some money for me. I want to revive our family’s business.”

Once their family’s foundation had been very substantial. His grandfather had fought his way up from being an ordinary werewolf at the bottom, once bing the richest among the northern wolf packs. But after this family business was handed to Edward, it gradually declined, and when it was given to him, it wentpletely bankrupt.

He wasn’t willing to ept this! Why could grandfather create such a legend but he couldn’t?

Dennis had known he came for money. Assistant Hazel had investigated Nigel–after Aurora married Ferris, he had often asked Ferris for help.

Unfortunately, Ferris had always detested him and waspletely unwilling to help.

Unexpectedly, at this time, he hade knocking again.

“I know you truly care for Aurora. If you agree to sponsor me, I’ll definitely persuade her not to pursue this divorce anymore,” Nigel added.

He had asked Ferris for help many times before and been refused every time.

The reason he darede this time was still based on seeing Ferris stand up for Aurorast time.

As a man, he understood all too clearly- only after caring for a woman would one help that woman.

Dennis’s slender fingers tapped the desk as he listened silently, finally speaking:

“Have Aurorae and tell me herself, then I’ll help you.”

Nigel’s eyes were full of surprise: “Good, I’ll go find her right away.”

He had no time ito /ilinger and immediately left the office.

As soon as he left, Hazel couldn’t help but frown: “Are you really going to help him? ording to my investigation, he’s just a waste. Giving him money

would be like throwing it into water.”

How could Dennis not know this? He just wanted to see someone.

Before, he had thought that once he returned, Aurora would definitelye find him, woulde ask him about everything.

But there was nothing…

Even now that she knew he and Ferris weren’t the same person, she had nevere to question him.

In the end, Dennis didn’t answer Hazel.

At home, I had listed out all the interested partners and was reviewing the analysis report Milo had sent me.

The door was pushed open from outside, bringing in cold air. I opened my eye to see ferris with several suited bodyguards behind him.

b“/bbWhat’s /bthis about?”

b“/bBodyguards, they can protect you,” Ferris said.

bMy /bgaze fell on them. While I wasn’t one to judge by appearances, the several bodyguards before me were truly… difficult to describe in terms of looks.

“No need, I have Dane by my side. He’s sufficient.”

Ferris thought for a moment, then suddenly said: “Dane makes me uneasy.”

I had thought his unease referred to Dane’s professional capabilities, but clearly I had misunderstood.

C

I immediately defended Dane, speaking decisively: “He alone can take on ten people, the kind who doesn’t even show emotional fluctuation. Doesn’t smoke or drink, works cleanly and efficiently, doesn’t gossip – he’s the most reliable bodyguard I’ve encountered so far.”

Ferris said nothing, but his expression looked terrible.

I could see that the more he listened, the more dissatisfied he became, as if everypliment I gave was stimting his nerves.

“Have them all leave,” I turned and instructed. “I don’t like having strangers in the house.”

Ferris stood in ce, his brow tightening, but he didn’t argue at all. He had those bodyguards leave.

Ithought it was just a whim on his part and didn’t pay much attention.

But I didn’t know he had already decided to make his move on Dane.
