    Ferris’s expression didn’t soften much.

To ease bthe /bawkwardness, I asked quietly: “Didn’t you go to work?”

His face was as handsome as bif /bcarved, but with added displeasure.

“I don’t need to work today.”

“Oh, then rest well.” I got up, trying to leave.

But Ferris blocked my path, his deep eyes staring at me: “Nothing else to say?”

Thinking ofst night, my heart tightened: “No, I still have work to do. I won’talk with you anymore.”

Just as bI /bwas about to leave the room, he suddenly pulled me tightly into his arms.

His Adam’s apple moved slightly as he whispered in my ear: “Aurora, you need to remember–I’m not Dennis, and I can never be someone like him.”

I was stunned and looked up at him.

    “Youi./i, remembered?”

“No.” His hand fell on my face, gently caressing it repeatedly. “I don’t like being mistaken for someone else.”

    I instinctively avoided his gaze: “I didn’t, I just… misspoke.”

“Really? That better be the case.” Ferris’s words carried a heavy warning.

My heart tightened, and before I could recover, his phone rang.

While he answered the call, I immediately broke free from his arms and quickly left the room.

After leaving, I headed straight to the music room, closed the door, and leaned over the piano topose, using music to calm my racing heart.

Meanwhile, Ferris held his empty arms as he answered the phone with displeasure.

    “What is it?” he asked.

“Ferris, recent news from the Vargan family says Mr. Dennis is getting engaged.” The guard reported.

Ferris narrowed his eyes: “Did they say who the bride is?”

“Seems to be a woman named Helena.”

Ferris pondered for a moment, then coldly instructed: “Continue monitoring.”

    “Yes.”

    Vargan Manor.

Dennis had someone escort Helena away.

Hazel approached with displeasure: “Sir, are you really going to get engaged to her?b” /b

She felt that while Helena had excellent credentials, her proud and calcting personality wasn’t suitable for Dennis.

bDennis /bjust bsipped /bwarm water, his eyes gentle but expression unreadable: ” of age. It’s time to marry.”

At his bage/bb, /bsome people’s children could already attend kindergarten.

“But marrying just for the sake of marriage is too…”

Before Hazel could finish, Dennis interrupted: “Go work.”

She had no choice but to leave with red eyes.

The engagement invitations were sent out quickly, naturally including one for Ferris.

When Ferris received the invitation at work and heard Simon talk about Dens and Helena’s engagement, he leaned back in his chair silently.

    “Should bwe /bdecline?” Simon suggested.

He could see that Ferris didn’t like this brother.

“He’s getting married, of course I should attend.” Ferris answered calmly, but felt something subtle.

He still remembered how I had called him “Dennis” a few days ago. He wanted to see how I would react to Dennis’s engagement.

Returning home, Ferris handed me the invitation: “This is Dennis and Helena’s engagement invitation. He is my brother after all, so I agreed to attendb./b”

I took the invitation, feeling like a stone had hit my heart, with indescribable difort surging up.

It wasn’t exactly sadness, just felt particrly sudden.

“Then… why are you giving this to me?” My voice trembled slightly.

“We’re husband and wife. Of course you should attend with me.”
