CHAPTER 315: ACT 78: BEYOND CONTROL_4
Who is she?
Such a thought flashed through his mind. But at this moment, ’Hu Que’ already asked from the side: "They are Black Fire sect members, Lord, what should we do next?"
"Black Fire sect members?" Redi’s heart trembled slightly.
Brand glanced at the mountain to the north, lowered his eyelids and answered, "We head east."
The white-haired youth couldn’t help but chuckle softly. He came from a noble military family, and had some experience. He thought that since the ’Paper Card’ mercenary group had reached this position, it meant that the sentinel post arranged on the northern mountain by the squad leader had already been removed; thus, the south was clearly safer.
This guy was obviously an amateur, yet insisted on pretending to be knowledgeable. He inwardly scoffed, feeling pity for these seasoned mercenaries under him. Redi was evidently seeing Brand as a spoiled brat, but earlier when ’Hu Que’ made a move, he had no time to react before being captured, which clearly left a deep impression on this young man.
Although he could laugh, Redi was worried about the Black Fire sect members. He sneaked a glance at the mercenary standing next to Brand, thinking this guy likely wouldn’t lie.
He thought it wouldn’t be realistic to get information from his peers, and he needed to find an opportunity to extract something from this spoiled brat. Thinking of this, he glanced at Brand again.
But ’Hu Que’s’ view was evidently different from Redi’s. Hearing Brand’s words, he seemed somewhat interested: "Lord, have you dealt with the Black Fire sect members before?"
"Sort of," Brand answered casually, "I have dealt with the Upper Order Priesthood of the Black Fire sect in the northern mountains." He mentally added, "In the game—"
"Oh?" ’Hu Que’s’ eyes lit up: "Upper Order Priesthood?"
"Ha... cough, cough... haha, why don’t you say you’ve met one of the Twelve Pastors of the Shepherd Tree Man," Redi couldn’t help but scoff upon hearing this: "The priests of the Black Fire sect are at least at the silver level; if I recall correctly, even the Imperial Guard of Erune wouldn’t dare claim a sure victory against their Upper Order Priesthood. Which army did this gentleman encounter them in?"
Having said this, he looked at Brand disdainfully: "Boasting should have limits, truly laughable. Also, if you’re heading south, let me go. I don’t want to head to my death with you."
This guy is really both smelly and stubborn.
After hearing this guy’s mockery, even Brand couldn’t help but feel both infuriated and amused. He thought to himself that he had not only seen one of the Twelve Pastors but had defeated one. However, he doubted Redi would believe him if he said it. Besides, what are the Twelve Pastors? At his peak, he was equivalent to a Divine Envoy Knight. In simpler terms, among the Shepherd Tree Man and Unity of All Things’ vast organization, only one or two could match his prowess.
After all, no matter the game, players only grow stronger.
But Brand had no interest in explaining this to him, so he instead flashed his white teeth in a dangerous smile at Redi and asked, "It seems you’re not very clear about your position?"
Redi choked, suddenly remembering that he had no room to speak now, whether or not this detestable guy was bluffing. He coldly snorted and chose not to reply anymore.
Brand didn’t mind him being silent; he turned around and asked, "Who are you?" This time, his gaze fell on the girl over there.
Redi glanced this way and then turned his head to one side.
"My name is Yura, Sir Knight." The girl spoke for herself.
"You know I’m not a merchant?" Brand was stunned.
"I know more than that; I know our mercenary group is in great danger, and that you, sir, can help us, right?" The girl nodded, acknowledging, then continued to ask.
"Yura?" This time, the white-haired youth beside was surprised: "They are just..."
"Who is on the other side?" Yura asked instead.
Brand genuinely became curious this time. He couldn’t help but re-evaluate the other party: "How do you know?"
