CHAPTER 216: RESTAURANT

Dark looked at Riven, there was no way he could refuse him after he begged this way. He let out a sigh, "I don’t believe that you’ll be able to carry out your dream or goal, but I have seen you do the impossible, kid, so I believe that if there is any human that can do it, it’s definitely you," Dark said.

He stretched out his hands. "I’ll give you the knowledge, the books to read, but not a single material to practice on.

That’s your first lesson, because a blacksmith that gains his materials for free will never understand the use of them or their worth.

Your own money should go into it, not that of your father, and not that of anyone else. What you earn should give you the materials you’ll use.

If you can promise me that you’ll earn your materials all through, then I’ll give you all the books I have," Dark said.

Riven looked up at the hand, he stretched out his hands and grabbed that of Dark. Dark helped him up to his feet.

"I’ll do exactly what you have said," Riven said.

"Good," Dark replied, he waved his hands and six large books with thick leather covers appeared on the table.

"This is the beginner’s guide to blacksmithing, a book written by my master. Volume one to seven. It highlights practices, materials, and everything that you’ll need to start.

Learn it as fast as you can and learn it well, I’m trusting that you will," Dark said.

Riven looked at the books on the table, he picked them all and placed them into his ring then looked up at Dark.

"Thank you for helping me," he said.

"Don’t worry about it, just make sure that you bring results when the time comes," Dark said.

The door of the room slid open, Riven bowed and walked out of the room after picking Twilight.

"That went really well," Twilight said.

"He is a good man," Riven replied.

He walked out into the shop, he saw Lucas attending to a customer, a lady that was getting a new sword.

Not wanting to disturb him, he walked past him and headed to the door.

"Leaving already?" Lucas asked.

"Yeah, I want to head to the dungeon now," Riven replied.

"Oh, I see, well we’ll talk later," Lucas said.

Riven was about to walk out, then he paused and looked back. "Uhm Lucas, you wouldn’t happen to know anywhere that is a good date spot in the town, right?"

Lucas smiled when he heard that, a suspicious smile. "A lot of people have been coming to Ti Best ever since the dungeon and the crystal vein that was discovered.

A pretty good amount of chefs have showed up too, opening nice restaurants around town. One of the more popular ones is called the Spirit’s Dinner, it’s a few streets away from here toward the center of town, ask around, you can’t miss it," Lucas explained.

"Thank you then, I’ll check it out," Riven said and walked to the door.

"I hope whoever the lucky girl is, you give her a good time," Lucas said just before he walked out.

’Spirit’s Dinner, that sounds pretty fancy, I should check it out before the date tonight,’ Riven thought. He decided to head over there and get a reservation or something before he went to the dungeon.

He followed what Lucas said and walked through the town, checking street after street until he finally spotted the restaurant signboard.

It was a simple-looking building from outside, but as soon as he opened the door and walked in, he was stunned by what he saw.

The interior was beautiful, a five-star restaurant for certain. Waiters in black and white moved around gracefully, food was getting served as soft classical music was played by a piano on stage.

"Welcome, young sir." A man in all black walked to Riven and greeted with a slight bow, and as his head lifted up, he sized Riven up, as if trying to find out if he was worthy of this establishment.

Riven didn’t like the eyes on him one bit, but he kept his cool and didn’t say anything.

"Welcome to the Spirit’s Diner, do you have a reservation?" he asked.

"No, I came here to make one," Riven said. And he could swear that he heard the man click his tongue at him.

"Sorry sir, a reservation would take at least three days to be set," the man said.

"Uhm, I can’t wait that long, I need it by tonight," Riven said, and the moment the words left his mouth, the man scoffed.

"Are you here to make a joke or something? What the hell do you mean tonight? Spirit’s Diner is a four-star rated restaurant, rated by many popular critics around the kingdom.

Do you really believe that someone like you can actually get a reservation in one day?" the man asked. He threw away the nice-dude charade and poured his frustration on Riven.

And Riven, he stood there, taking it like a good boy, he uttered no word.

"Get out now, do not make a scene, find some other cheap restaurant somewhere else," the man spat. He raised his hands to push Riven, but Riven instinctively grabbed his hands.

He looked the man dead in the eye, "Your service is terrible," he said before twisting the arm. The man grimaced in pain and collapsed to his knee, yelling so loud that everyone turned to see what was happening.

Even the chief chef ran from the kitchen to see what was going on, and then he spotted Riven twisting the arm of his worker.

He rushed over there in anger. "What the hell are you doing?" he barked. Riven turned to look at him without expression.

"Hi, my name is Riven Von Grave and I need a table reserved for tonight." He spoke, his voice sounded calm, but it was threatening as well.

Everyone now watched, wanting to see what the chef would do.
