CHAPTER 58: CHAPTER 58

"Throw them out!" He ordered.

"What a bunch of wasted time." Zeenare pinched the bridge of his nose making his way to his room.

Now I have missed the chance to see my princess’s face. He glanced at the wristwatch on his left hand.

"Othimise!" He called out after entering his room, his voice tight and strained. "Why was I not informed about Rhea’s calls?"

"I’m sorry master, since you had visitors I thought that—"

"You thought?!" Zeenare weighed the word, cutting him off. "Since when did you start thinking?" He questioned, his face motionless, his voice low.

Othimise remained silent, his hands behind his back, shoulders straight.

"It seems you are confusing your priorities here!" He leaned on the chair, not taking his eye off Othimise.

"But master —"

"Did I allow you to speak?" Zeenare bellowed, his jaw twitching, his voice raspy. "Go take your punishment before I get back." He said in a dangerous think voice, stalking out of the room.

Meanwhile in Rhea’s apartment....

"Sup?" Tia greeted Rhea after she stepped inside, "Heard Athaliah was in school today. And she was causing a ruckus in class."

With her brow furrowed, Rhea pondered, striding towards the couch. What is going on? Tia knows her too? Is it that I’m taking my classes at the back of the class. Because this is the first time I’ve seen her in our class, but everyone was acting familiar with her, especially after the class.

"Yeah. Something like that. Guess she was just being intelligent." Rhea sank onto the single couch.

In any case that is not my issue right now.

"Um, Tia?" She called, setting her bag down. "Have you seen Zack today?"

Tia dropped the book in her hand, her eyes narrowed giving Rhea a pointed look. "Why are you asking about that douchebag?"

I was just wondering if he died yesterday. And I’m really actually going to jail. Cause I’m scared right now.

"Well, I didn’t see him in class today," Rhea mumbled.

"Isn’t it better?" Tia turned back to the book. "Besides it’s not like you guys are sharing the same unit in the department."

"Yeah." Rhea looked away from Tia, into a daze.

Right now, if he come back with a broken bone or something, it would be better than his absence.

"What are you reading that you are so invested in?" Rhea asked trying to peek.

"Nothing!" Tia slammed the book to her chest, hiding it tightly under her arms.

"Don’t tell me it’s yaoi?" Rhea pointed from the book to Tia’s face, then curled all her fingers into a fist.

"No it’s not!" Tia spat defensively.

"Oh yes, it is. You just gave yourself away." Rhea suddenly burst out in a wide laugh, "Do you still remember how Jane almost had a heart attack because of the kind of pictures she accidentally saw in that book of yours?" She clamps her tummy with both hands.

"Yeah." Tia agreed, laughing. "She’s just weak-minded."

"I don’t think so," Rhea responded, "You are just too corrupted. Which sane person read the level of smut you rea—."

When a phone notification cut her sentence short.

She reached for and saw the messenger ID was Zeenare: I’m at your complex downstairs. It read.

Rhea ran to the window, and a car was parked close to hers.

"Oh my god." She muttered under her breath.

"What’s it?" Tia asked, her eyes following Rhea about.

"Someone is waiting for me downstairs, and I have to go." She replied, hurriedly changing, moving around her room.

For some moment, Tia just watched Rhea jumping around, and then she suddenly scoffed. "That’s your man downstairs, right?"

My man. Rhea repeated inwardly.

I like the sound of it. Rhea thought as her face turned crimson.

"Yes, it’s him." She answered, grabbing a bag.

"And why wasn’t I informed that you’d be going on a date later today?" Tia questioned her lips in a thin line, her hands stacked, her cheek resting on one.

"I wasn’t aware. Just got a text. Okay, see you when I get back." Rhea said stalking towards the door

"Okay. But don’t go undressing each other in that car." Tia shouted before she stepped out.

"Come on, that will never happen."

Rhea glided down the hallway to the lobby.

"Hi." She greeted stepping into the car.

"How was your day?" He slid her falling hair to her ear, his cold hand brushing her skin.

"It was fine, nothing special." She replied slightly leaning into his touch.

"Umm, I missed your call. Did you miss me? Cause this is the first time you have called." He smiled brightly, brushing his thumb on her cheek, before he withdrew his hand from her skin. Making Rhea thirsty.

"Yeah, I called you concerning something." She cleared her throat, adjusting in her seat.

"But wait!" Rhea paused, her eyes narrowed, her head moved slightly. "Don’t tell me that’s why you are here?" Rhea blurred out in disbelief.

"Yes." His response was simple and short.

"You could have called back," Rhea informed, her hands spread open.

"You called like three times and I was worried. Wondering if something had happened to you."

Awww. That’s so sweet.

"Thanks." She said her ears which were covered by her hair flushed red.

"That dress looks breathtaking on you beautiful." His eyes drinking her in. "Making you alluringly beautiful."

"Thank you," Rhea said, feeling flushed, then continued. "That’s so gentlemanly of you."

I thought he wouldn’t say anything. But he’s now flirting. Her cheeks swollen with blushes. Naughty.

Then she added, "You too."

What am I even saying? He always looks good, and he’s fucking handsome. So I don’t even think ’you too’ applies to him. She glanced at him, trailing her eyes over his features.

"Want to go out on a date with me? Would love to take you to one, so I can deliciously undress you and open you wide, if you don’t mind."

What is this man saying...

"Undress and open wide?" Rhea asked, her heart pounding, her voice tight, her words coming out in a whispers.

Then he added with a smirk, "With food, I mean." He said, starting the car a knowing smile on his face.

For fuck sake what was I thinking? She beat herself inwardly.

Rhea turned her head to the side, facing the window, her entire face painted red with embarrassment.

"What were you thinking to be so flustered?" He asked grinning.

"The food," Rhea answered hurriedly.

"You sure about that? Because it seems to me your mind was in the trenches." He turned his gaze away from the road to her.

"No, I wasn’t." She answered firmly.

"Then why are your legs rubbing eachother so tightly?" His voice was as smooth as velvet and deep as magic. "I can smell your sweet scent right now." He glanced at her from the rear mirror.

My scent? What’s that? Is he teasing me right now? She wondered, rolling her eyes.

His eyes moved between her legs, then back at the road, swallowing hard.

She still smells like a female Alpha, which is making it difficult to for me to stay reasonable. I’m just glad it’s not as bad as when we were on the island.

"What would you like to eat?" He enquired, "Is it the full size...or just the tip?" He dragged his words emphasizing on each syllable, throwing a seductive smile at her direction.

Full size? Just a tip? Is he still talking about food here? Or is it my mind that is rotten? She shifted her gaze away from him, her face gradually heating up from her neck up to her head, turning crimson.

Rhea rubbed her legs against each other slightly, then pressed them together, breathing heavily a little, with her hand on the car door, covering her mouth.

"Let’s get there first, then we’ll decide." She responded breathily over her hand.

He smiled and said, "Okay."

Wow, this place is fancy! Rhea thought, walking into the building.

I’m glad I dressed nicely.

As a waiter led them, they made their way to their seat.

"I didn’t know we were coming to a place like this. What if I wasn’t dressed properly?" Rhea questioned Zeenare after he sat down.

"We are here because of how you are dressed. I can’t take this gorgeous woman, dressed in this beautifully, to some restaurant. The date has to be grand enough to be worthy of how you look right now." He answered before flipping through the menu.

Wow, that’s... thoughtful. Were the only word that came to Rhea’s mind.

"So what was it you wanted to tell me?" Zeenare asked after they finished ordering.

"You see, it’s about Zack."

"Zack? Who is that?" He asked holding her gaze.

"My...my ex..." Rhea mumbled watching his expression.

Zeenare, lips twitched, even as he forced his face to remain motionless as his face threatened to form a frown.

"Your ex." He repeated, swirling his hand over the cup before him, his voice extremely low, a tiny hint of offence in his tone, his blood rushing fast through his veins.

"What about him?" He managed to continue, a strong smile on his face, his eyes sharp.

Eyes still on him, Rhea swallowed hard, clenching her finger tightly, her skin prickling with nerves.

I think it would be wise never to start a conversation like that, again.

She took a deep breath, then started narrating everything that had happened last night between her and Zack, and the changes she noticed in her body.

During the conversation, Zeenare’s expression shifted, sometimes to confusion, sometimes to awe.

"That is all that happened, and since you said I should tell you if anything should happen, that was why I was at your office." She murmured, softly.

"Yeah, you did well. Look at how strong you are, pumpkin," he teased gently. "Don’t worry, it’s because of my essence inside you, that’s why that happened." He reassured her.

Though Zeenare was calm outwardly, his mind was reeling.

Those are Siren signs beginning to manifest in her body.

But why? No human —. I have never seen a human mutate into a Siren before. So what is causing hers?

Is it actually due to my essence? I thought by now it would have faded out of her body. But it has not.

What can I do now? The curse has lessened for the time being, but what if it acts up again? What can I do? We cannot have sex again, because if we do, I will inject more of myself inside her and it might cause her to shatter

I think I really have to go to Ockonayia. I need solutions.
