Angel Monarch
Chapter 544: Third Date
CHAPTER 544: THIRD DATE
For the third date, neither woman wanted anything special. They much preferred staying at home and eating a delightful meal in the coziness of their room.
Vicky and Henry took little Nick and Jo for a sleepover at Thea’s gym, since the place was currently empty. Thea and Lydia spent the past weeks searching for prey they could use for Evolution.
They went out early in the morning after finally finding the required monsters. Lin teleported them away, while Yannick, Yvonne and Astrid went with them for protection. However, they wouldn’t help them with the actual hunt... at least not until it got life-threatening...
The mansion stood empty, since everyone other than Sera and Bea left. The couples went on their own dates in different cities, while the more extroverted of Sera’s friends ventured into Asgard for a night of drinking and partying.
Sera already felt a headache coming. The partying crowd was led by Cass, Lucy and Kim, so she knew how worse their already rambunctious personalities were when drinks are involved. She only hoped that Hestia and Faith would keep things under control.
Both devout followers promised and swore they wouldn’t let anything bad happen in Asgard, but Sera had her doubts. She tried her best to forget, though, as she sat before her lovely date.
"It’s cute when you’re stressed." Said Bea with a joyous smile as she took a sip of her unnaturally strong wine, gifted to them by Freyja.
"But I’m always stressed." Answered Sera with a knowing grin as she predicted Bea’s next words inside her mind.
"Well, then I guess you’re always cute!"
They both chuckled lightheartedly and took bites of their food. Their meal wasn’t as gigantic as on the previous dates, but they ate slowly, enjoying every moment spent together.
Candles burning around the room provided the only source of light, which enhanced the romantic atmosphere. Before the date began, Bea grew flowers across the room, which filled the air with the fragrance of spring.
Both women wore their usual dresses, albeit Bea remade them once so they would stay fresh.
While Bea worked on the decoration, Sera spent a few hours cooking. She took lessons from Hestia in her free time, so while the meal wasn’t mind-blowing, the intent behind it made Bea’s tastebuds flutter with ecstasy. She could taste the love and care with which Sera created the dinner.
They both put a lot of effort into this date, since they knew how special it was. Deep excitement and dread strangled their hearts as they stared at each other with loving eyes.
Neither wanted to ruin the mood by saying or doing something weird, so for a few minutes, they sat in awkward silence. However, as the wine started taking effect, their inhibitions also began dispersing.
Sera’s pale face had tinges of red at her cheeks, which somehow made her perfect face even more beautiful. Bea’s looks weren’t affected by the drinks, albeit her eyes couldn’t stay still as they kept jumping around Sera’s body.
"Do you like my cooking?" asked Sera with a small, curious smile, trying her hardest to relieve her anxiety by striking up a conversation.
"It’s amazing!" declared Bea, maybe a bit too loudly. "Hestia thought you well. You should cook for me more often!"
"Maybe we’ll cook something together in the morning. We’ve got the entire house to ourselves tomorrow too. Might as well use this opportunity..."
A sly grin appeared on Bea’s face as she asked, "Use this opportunity for what exactly? Are you planning something naughty?"
Sera giggled as she bit down on a piece of meat. She savored the flavor for a few moments before answering with a cunning smile.
"Well, kitchens could get quite hot, especially with two people’s body temperatures. Who knows, maybe after cooking and eating the meal, we’ll need to take a cold shower to cool down ourselves... How does that sound?"
This time, even Bea’s face became flushed as her breathing turned irregular. Unconsciously, her thighs rubbed together in frustration while she stuffed her face full of food and downed her glass of wine.
"It sounds fantastic," said Bea after taking a few seconds to calm down. "However, the night is still young. Who knows what state we or the house will be by morning. Let’s enjoy this meal first!"
Sera nodded, and for a few minutes, neither spoke. This time the silence wasn’t forced or awkward. It felt both comfortable and natural, yet it didn’t last long...
The meal soon ended, and both women moved over to the couch, carrying their glasses full of wine. They started an action movie on the holo-screen, but kept the voice low enough to have a conversation.
"Bea, tell me something I don’t know about you!" said Sera, her voice a bit slurred from the alcohol.
The World Tree glanced away from the holo-screen and turned towards her date. She pulled her legs under herself, and after making herself comfortable, she answered with a small, embarrassed smile.
"Fine, but only if you swear you won’t laugh!"
Reluctantly, Sera agreed, albeit Bea knew she was lying. With a deep sigh, she glanced down at her hands and whispered barely louder than the movie.
"I took dance and singing classes for ten years until I was sixteen."
Sera tilted her head in confusion...
"Why is that embarrassing?" she asked, not expecting Bea’s next words. "Because even after ten years of arduous learning, I continue to suck at both!"
As Bea’s voice echoed inside the room, Sera’s wild laughter joined. It wasn’t the usual light chuckle, but more genuine and ridiculous. A laugh that forces everyone else to chime in... Bea quickly fell victim to Sera’s whimsy and couldn’t stop her own laugh from bursting forth...
After a minute of continues laughter, Sera placed her glass on the coffee table and jumped to her feet. She lifted her watch, which controlled the holo-screen, and turned off the movie. A moment later, some old classical music filled the room as Sera reached down to her lover.
"May I’ve this next dance, Ms. Bea?" she made her voice sound similar to Elizabeth and Valerie’s accents, which made her sound classy.
Caught off guard, Bea gently took Sera’s hand. She seemed to float off the couch like a ghost as Sera helped her stand up.
She led her date to the middle of the empty room, onto an expensive rug. Their bare feet pressed down on the soft surface as they stood facing each other.
Sera held Bea’s left hand to the side and put her other hand behind her lover’s right shoulder. Bea, still confused, placed her right hand onto Sera’s left shoulder, then let herself be led by the Angel.
A simple classical waltz began between the two, as Sera led Bea around the rug. Her form was perfect, and her back stayed straight even though the extra weight behind her back felt unnatural for dancing.
Bea felt her muscles burn as she started remembering all the dance lessons she had suffered through. However, without Sera’s expert leading, she would’ve stepped on her feet dozens of times already.
"Where did you learn to dance like that?" asked Bea in an astonished whisper, just as Sera’s hand moved to her lower back and she leaned forward, pushing her lover’s body into a horizontal position.
She stopped there for a second, her face only centimeters away from Bea’s. A small, proud smile brightened Sera’s face as she whispered back...
"I was the Classical Dance Club’s Vice President for two years straight at the Academy. It would be quite shameful if I hadn’t learned how to dance!"
Suddenly, Sera lifted Bea back into the first position, and they continued the dance. The music took on a faster rhythm, which Sera matched with ease.
With perfect movements, Sera made Bea spin, and performed a few other dance moves, which Bea didn’t even know existed. She did the lean a few more times, each causing Bea’s heart to flutter in excitement.
The song lasted a few minutes but reached its crescendo much sooner. It gradually slowed at about the half waypoint, which of course, didn’t cause trouble to Sera’s sense of rhythm.
As the music slowed, so did both women’s movements. Throughout the dance, neither glanced away from each other’s eyes, and as the music faded into silence, the world dissolved around the pair.
It felt like they stood in an endless void, where nothing else existed other than each other.
Beads of sweat trickled down their faces as they took heavy breaths. The dance itself wasn’t tiring, but the closeness of each other’s bodies fueled their desires and emotions.
Their eyes burned with fervor and love as their faces inched closer.
Sera’s right hand grazed along Bea’s arm until it tenderly touched the side of her face. Bea’s own arms crossed behind Sera’s neck, locking her lover into an inescapable bond.
The Angel’s wings fluttered as Sera’s heart pounded. Her left hand moved to Bea’s lower back, pulling the World Tree even closer.
Their bodies fully pressed together as the centimeters between their faces gradually disappeared. They felt each other’s warm breaths as their lips came close to meeting.
However, both women stopped just before the inevitable connection. They stared deeply into each other’s eyes as both had the same question in mind, yet neither could force the words out.
Since they couldn’t control their bodies, they shouted the same word into each other’s minds...
’YES!’ an answer to a question neither asked, yet both knew. And with that simple word, all inhibitions disappeared as their desire exploded!
