CHAPTER 580: ABADDON AND BEELZEBUB

Lucifer and Abaddon walked through the webbed forest, towards where Lilith flew. Blood flowed along the Fallen Angel’s handsome face as his eyes scanned for any signs of movement.

Beside him, Abaddon’s headless neck spurted blood every few seconds. His right head didn’t heal after the Dreamweaver’s maw-like face separated it.

"This is the issue with these conquered souls... Dumb as a rock and can’t even properly heal..." whispered Lucifer under his breath, quiet enough that one might mistake his words for regular breathing.

After another few seconds of looking, they found a deep indent and overturned ground. Lilith obviously landed here after the heavy push. However, Lucifer found no sign of her current presence.

He silently commanded Abaddon to reach up and touch the white webs. The substance was extremely sticky, resilient and elastic. It took an unnatural amount of power to break it apart.

Lucifer wanted to fly through the webbed foliage above the treeline, but upon seeing the white substance, he quickly abandoned the idea. He would only get stuck inside helplessly for the spider to feast on.

It wasn’t a fun idea. In fact, just imagining the scenario sent an uncomfortable shiver down his spine.

Not finding Lilith left Lucifer with little choice. He nor Abaddon couldn’t search through the webbed foliage, but someone else could easily solve this problem.

The Fallen Angel spread his wings once again, enveloping them in darkness. From the darkness, a pair of dark pink eyes stared out.

She came closer to the edge of darkness when a few flies flew out from the shadows of Lucifer’s wings. After the first few, a dozen more appeared, then double that, until hundreds of flies flew around the Fallen Angel.

An insectoid hand grabbed the edges of the darkness, then another and two more. The flies hid her beautiful form, yet anyone could easily see who she was... Beelzebub, the Lady of Flies...

She stood quite tall, her long hair danced and moved around her body disobeying gravity. She wore nothing but a short dress, which left little to the imagination. Her bare feet pressed down on the grassy ground as her two pairs of insect-like wings twitched in anticipation.

The Fallen Angel stayed silent as he commanded the Lady of Flies. The beautiful woman’s seductive face stretched into a cunning grin as she spread her four arms and wings.

All the thousands of flies veiling her body suddenly flew into the webbed foliage. They immediately got stuck, but that was part of their job.

The flies began buzzing with incredible power compared to their small size. The high frequency broke apart the web system, and after the first wave, Beelzebub continued sending thousands upon thousands more.

They ate away at the webbed foliage until Lucifer spotted Lilith’s dark gray form jumping between branches. Beside him, Abaddon’s two heads glanced at her and roared enraged.

One of the Profane weapons flew from his hand. Its shockwave cracked the earth, while the spear-like weapon pierced through the foliage. It evaded every obstacle and pierced Lilith straight through her chest.

The massive, terrifying form suddenly burst into specks of light... an illusion, Lucifer thought...

Above the flies ate away all the webs, leaving Lilith no choice but to go on the offensive.

She reappeared behind Abaddon and stabbed forward with all her spider-like legs. The monstrosity didn’t even turn around, half a dozen weapons jumped to his defense, blocking all of Lilith’s thrusts.

Her silvery claws glinted in the forest’s low light as she slashed towards his enemy’s legs. Another few weapons jumped to its defense, leaving Lilith unable to deliver any damage.

To her right, Lucifer flew towards her, brandishing his Profane sword, aiming to chop off her head. On her left, Beelzebub grinned in excitement while pointing her finger and summoning hundreds of flesh-eating flies.

However, as Lucifer and the flies closed in, Lilith didn’t move away. Abaddon might’ve been extremely strong, but his arms were twisted behind his back. The Dreamweaver could’ve escaped at any moment, yet instead a wide smile stretched on her face.

Lucifer’s sword cut through her neck just as the flies devoured all her skin and muscles. Her skeletal structure clattered to the ground, then exploded into pieces of crystal-like shards.

Suddenly, another loud roar shook the woods as Abaddon’s leftmost head fell to the grassy ground. Blood erupted from the new neck wound as Lilith’s massive dark gray form jumped away from the wild monstrosity.

He flailed his dozen arms in agony, but Lucifer soon commanded him to stop bitching and hunt down Lilith. Beelzebub also did the same, her flies tracking Lilith constantly.

While both his underlings did the dirty work, Lucifer kneeled beside the crystal shards in confusion. When he touched one, it broke into tiny glistening particles, then disappeared from his sight.

It felt weird. This fight with Lilith. Her ability to create illusions...

"It’s like I’m forgetting something... How strange..."

However, he had no time to figure it out, as suddenly a deep sense of danger took hold of his entire body. With a reflexive move, he dodged Lilith’s claws, which saved him from getting beheaded.

She wasn’t as lucky, though. A giant warhammer-like weapon pummeled her straight into the ground with so much power that only a massive crater remained in her place.

It didn’t feel Lucifer with confidence, watching Lilith die again. He felt certain the threat was gone yet, and just as this thought appeared in his mind, the clashing of metal echoed in the air.

Lilith attacked Abaddon again, this time, from the front. He only needed four weapons from that angle to restrict all ten of the Dreamweaver’s spider-like arms.

Her back faced Lucifer, an obvious bait, which he didn’t take. Instead, he commanded Beelzebub, who sent more flies to kill her again.

Suddenly, just before the flies could’ve arrived, all power left Lilith’s arms. Abaddon pushed them away and stumbled forward, just enough to get in range of the Dreamweaver’s claws.

She hadn’t used her hands to attack Abaddon. Instead, she awaited this moment and slashed the King of Hell’s kneecaps to pieces. Blood welled from the disgusting wound as Abaddon roared in pain.

His feet couldn’t possibly hold his massive weight anymore, and he fell right on top of Lilith, crushing her to death... at least that’s what Lucifer thought. However, as Abaddon’s screams turned more pained, he quickly realized it wasn’t the case this time...

Slowly, a bloody tear ran along Abaddon’s back, as ten silvery spider-like arms pierced through his body. From the tear, Lilith’s dark gray body covered in dark blood climbed out.

A terrifying faceless creature with long, bloodied claws. Like a true horror, or more fittingly... A true nightmare!

Lucifer felt stunned as the Dreamweaver’s laughter echoed through the woods. She jumped out of Abaddon’s stomach and landed near his last head.

With a single swipe, she ended the King of Hell’s agony. The middle head rolled away as fresh blood dripped from Lilith’s right claw.

The buzzing of flies finally reached her ears as the swarm appeared around her, devouring everything. However, the disappearance of her body didn’t stop her laughter. It continued echoing in a terrifying fashion.

Lucifer glanced at Abaddon’s body with an annoyed expression. His conquered creatures would only regenerate inside his wings, but if they died, there was nothing he could do.

It was frustrating to lose a powerful asset like Abaddon, but for now he needed to worry about surviving this nightmare!

He glanced towards Beelzebub, about to command her to cover this entire area with flies, but he was already too late...

The Dreamweaver’s horrific form appeared beside the Lady of Flies. She ignored the tiny insects eating away at her body and instead used her claws to cut off Beelzebub’s head, while her spider-like arms, teared her body to pieces.

All the flies fell to the ground dead, leaving Lucifer standing between his two dead summoned soldiers. A growl of annoyance echoed through his blood-covered lips.

His crown of thorns continued cutting deeper into his flesh, yet he didn’t even notice the increase in pain. Instead, his anger boiled over, and with a shout, he spread his dark wings wide.

"Fine! If you won’t hold back, then neither will I! Take this, you whore!"

From the darkness of Lucifer’s wings, dozens, hundreds, thousands, or maybe tens of thousands of eyes stared out. Reality shook as the Fallen Angel’s conquered army crawled out of his wings.

The forms had no uniformity. There were angels, humans, demons, monsters and many creatures Lilith couldn’t even comprehend.

To be honest, it surprised her how many creatures Lucifer had conquered, yet it didn’t matter. Ten, hundred, thousand, million, billion... The numbers had no meaning, since they all would meet the same fate...

This battle, it ended before Lucifer even drew his weapon... He really should’ve kept better hold of his emotions. It would’ve made this battle much harder!

The conquered army spread out through the dark woods, searching for the Dreamweaver, their prey. Since Beelzebub destroyed most cobwebs, the angels, demons and other flying creatures took to the sky, their eyes staring at the forest from above.

Nearly an entire minute passed though, and they found no signs of Lilith. These conquered creatures lacked emotions, though, so unlike their master, they didn’t get frustrated.

Lucifer, on the other hand, summoned every single creature from his wings of darkness, then fell to his knees, breathing heavily. It took a lot of Essence to summon a single powerful creature, but taking them all out exhausted most of his reserves.

He had at most an hour before his Essence would run out... That was his deadline and Lilith’s final goal...
