Chapter 44: Did Victor get cheated on
CHAPTER 44: CHAPTER 44: DID VICTOR GET CHEATED ON
"Yelena?"
"Sawako?"
Logan gently pushed aside Sawako’s "coconuts," and a look of surprise crossed his face.
Yelena, standing nearby, saw Jessica feeling awkward and stepped up to give her a hug too.
After the two girls left Twilight City, they had been keeping an eye on Logan’s moves.
The Twilight City arena match caused such a big stir that it couldn’t escape their notice.
In fact, the reason the two girls humbled themselves to wait for Logan at the train station this time was because their families told them to.
"You still want to team up with me?" Logan had just climbed into the stretch limo Yelena had arranged when he got their invitation.
Seeing Logan’s confusion, Yelena explained patiently: "You probably don’t know how hard the Genius Training Camp really is, do you?"
Logan nodded lightly.
He really didn’t know much about the Genius Training Camp.
Yelena and Sawako weren’t surprised. They started to explain patiently.
"What? The training site for the Genius Training Camp isn’t in Saint Heart City?" Jessica was stunned when she heard that.
Sawako nodded, her face serious. "That’s right. The camp is outside Saint Heart City. Everyone has to camp out beyond the city."
Yelena coughed lightly and added: "You should know Saint Heart City is land we took back from the Lost World. But outside the city, it’s true otherworld territory—cave systems, ghost haunts, beast mountains, bug valleys, lands of wraiths, dragon lairs, and forbidden seas. The terrain is extremely complex."
Even Logan, calm as he was, couldn’t help taking a sharp breath.
So the Genius Training Camp throws you into a survival fight from day one?
Training in the Lost World means you not only have to watch out for monsters that can pop up anytime, but also deal with Blood Cultivation Realms that keep appearing.
Luckily, the federal legion is stationed in Saint Heart City, and they take on the high-level Blood Cultivation Realms.
The low-level ones are left to the familiar tamer guild and the members of the Genius Training Camp.
After hearing this, Logan understood why Yelena and Sawako wanted to team up.
Both of them come from powerful families. Sawako is the City Lord of Edo Castle’s granddaughter, and Yelena is the duke of Storm Wind City’s second daughter. They have strong backing, real strength, and their families value them a lot.
For them, ranking in the camp matters, but staying alive matters more.
To stay within the camp’s rules, asking Logan to team up is the safest choice.
Seeing that Logan got it, Yelena kept trying to persuade him. "Logan, each trainee in the Genius Training Camp can bring one follower. They can stay by our side and protect us most of the time, so they won’t bother you. But when we explore Blood Cultivation Realms, followers aren’t allowed to take part. We’ll need your help then."
Logan smiled at Yelena and Sawako. "I’m expensive. I want the biggest share of the Blood Cultivation Realm resources."
They’d been through life and death together and trusted each other, so Logan wasn’t going to say no.
Sawako and Yelena laughed at his joke. They didn’t care about the resources from the Blood Cultivation Realms.
After they agreed, Sawako suggested they go have a big meal.
Just as the car was about to turn around, a long convoy blocked the road, trapping them and the cars behind them in the middle of the street.
Horns blared up and down the block, but the convoy ahead still pushed through like it owned the road.
Watching one armored off-road vehicle after another roll past, Sawako and Yelena both frowned.
Jessica noticed they seemed to know who these people were, so she asked: "If they can act like this in Saint Heart City, they must be someone important, right?"
Sawako snorted and said: "That’s the Tattalia family’s convoy. Looks like they’re taking Victor to report to the Genius Training Camp."
"Victor Tattalia?" Logan was curious at the unfamiliar name. "You know him?"
Yelena sighed and explained: "Victor is the most talented direct heir of the Tattalia family. They say he’s only a senior in high school this year, and he’s already half a step into the Master level."
Hearing how strong he was, Logan raised an eyebrow and looked through the window toward the front of the convoy.
There, a convertible sports car came roaring toward them.
With a sharp drift, it stopped right in front of Logan’s car, blocking the road completely.
Bang!
The door swung open, and a tall young man with brown curly hair, wearing a tuxedo, stepped into view.
He walked up with a swagger and planted a foot on their hood, then called out to Yelena and Sawako:"Hey, classmates. Long time no see!"
Victor bent down, pulled open the door, and, acting like a gentleman, held out his hand to invite Yelena and Sawako out. "I knew you’d come to join the Genius Training Camp, so I’ve been leading the convoy around the city every day to look for you!"
"Why don’t you two come sit in my car? Let’s talk about teaming up." As he said this, Victor glanced at Jessica and Logan and added: "You two attendants and servants don’t need to come."
Being treated like attendants and servants, Logan and Jessica both rolled their eyes.
Sawako was about to explain who Logan and Jessica were.
But before she could speak, Yelena gave her a look that stopped her instantly.
Then Yelena calmly declined Victor’s invite. "Victor, we don’t want to show off like you. If you want to talk, please respect how we do things. Let’s find a quiet place first."
Victor froze for a second at the refusal, then grinned. "It is a bit noisy here."
Right after, a purple glow flashed behind him. A dragon’s head, big like a locomotive, burst out from his familiar space and let out a roar.
In an instant, the windows up and down the street shattered.
The drivers who’d been leaning on their horns went dumbfounded, and then scared.
Everyone on the street knew they’d run into someone they couldn’t mess with. They were angry, but didn’t dare say a word.
Victor watched the crowd’s faces with obvious pleasure and smirked. "Much quieter now. You two, come out and let’s talk."
Seeing how pushy he was, Yelena gritted her teeth, stepped out of the car, and said no to his face. "Victor, we already have a team."
Sawako got out too and added: "That’s right. And we’re not teaming up with you. You’re too arrogant—people hate that."
Victor’s polite smile froze, and his brows pulled tight. "Yelena, Sawako, if you’re not on my team, you’re my enemies. Think carefully about the consequences!"
At once, the air on the street turned icy and tense.
Yelena and Sawako stood their ground under Victor’s pressure, their faces growing serious.
The gap between Elite 1 star and 5 star made it hard for them to cope.
Just as Sawako was about to falter, Logan suddenly appeared at Victor’s side and clamped a big hand on his shoulder. "Threatening classmates isn’t something to be proud of, classmate Victor!"
Feeling the weight on his shoulder, Victor took a longer look at Logan.
To him, Logan was at best a bodyguard. Even if he was strong, he shouldn’t dare offend him.
Just as Victor was about to lash out and teach Logan a lesson, a clear, pleasant voice called from afar, full of surprise: "Logan?"
A squad of Temple Knights pushed the crowd aside, and Evelynna, all dressed up, ran to Logan’s side.
She took Logan’s arm and warned Victor in a cold voice: "Saint Heart City isn’t a place where the Tattalia family can run wild, Victor!"
Seeing his fiancée holding another man’s arm, Victor’s already icy face twisted. He pointed at Logan. "Who is he?"
With tension about to snap, Yelena quickly explained who Logan was.
When Victor learned Logan was the representative of Twilight City, his eyes lit with fighting spirit. "So you’re Logan. Want to spar sometime?"
As he spoke, a purple ripple of space flashed behind him.
But before he could summon his familiar, Yelena and Sawako stepped in front of Logan.
Blue ripples of familiar space flared around both of them at the same time.
Seeing this, Logan glanced at Evelynna and let out a quiet sigh.
Even people as strong as Yelena and Sawako couldn’t open a purple familiar space. That shows how rare it is for a familiar tamer to have one.
So far, among all the familiar tamers Logan had met, only Evelynna and Victor had purple familiar spaces. That made Evelynna’s potential even more obvious.
Thinking about this, Logan felt a little sorry for her and asked: "Why did you come to Saint Heart City?"
Evelynna sensed Logan’s concern and smiled, rubbing against his chest. "To see you."
After saying that, she blushed slightly and looked down, not daring to meet Logan’s eyes.
This scene suddenly made Victor furious. Even Yelena and Sawako, who were already facing each other, were shocked.
They both belonged to the upper circles and had already heard that Evelynna and Victor were about to get engaged.
But now, seeing how close Evelynna and Logan were, everyone was completely confused.
At that moment, Sawako quietly leaned over to Yelena and whispered: "Do you think Victor is being cheated on?"
