Angle's Arrogance? My Pact with the Succubus Queen!
Chapter 46: Enslave Mind Triggers a Tragedy!
CHAPTER 46: CHAPTER 46: ENSLAVE MIND TRIGGERS A TRAGEDY!
After hearing Kerparos, Logan felt mixed too.
This Genius Training Camp only looks simple on the surface.
In fact, there are surprises everywhere.
Even a random blade of grass Logan pulled could be made into a potion that speeds up training.
That shows how rich this place really is.
Thinking of that, Logan stopped the girls from complaining and said: "Don’t complain. Let’s hurry and check in. I feel like this place isn’t simple. It’s not as bad as it looks."
The girls were surprised.
They didn’t understand why Logan said that, but they chose to back him without question.
That was the lesson they learned from surviving the last Blood Cultivation Realm crisis: listen to Logan, and you won’t go wrong.
Seeing Sawako and Yelena give in, Jessica lowered her voice and agreed. "Okay, okay. Let’s go to the valley and find the staff to get our keys."
Not long after they left, a woman stepped out of the dense forest. Her eyes shone as she whispered, "Didn’t expect to see a sharp-eyed kid this year. Guess it was worth helping him out just now."
She picked up her phone and called. "Hello, reception? The students from Twilight City, Storm Wind City, and Edo Castle have arrived. In a bit, assign them Camp No. 1 with the best resources."
She hung up and smiled. "Don’t let big sis down, little ones."
After Logan’s group finished checking in, each of them got a key. The number on it started with [001].
Curious and hopeful, they went straight to their assigned camp.
Seeing the wreck in front of them, like bears and tigers had torn it apart, Yelena and Sawako were stunned.
The fence was crooked, the tents were full of holes and let the wind through, and the weeds on the ground were waist-high.
Sawako dropped her key at once, stomped her foot, and burst into a spoiled-princess tantrum. "What is this dump? Is this some kind of suffer-through-it summer camp?"
Jessica and Yelena looked lost and didn’t know what to do.
Only Logan lit up at the sight of the plants. He was practically drooling.
He stepped into the camp, grabbed a short knife, and started cutting. "Come help! Cut all this grass! Hurry!"
He spoke fast, like he was afraid someone might see. His knife kept flashing, and he quickly cleared a flat patch.
The girls followed and started working too.
Yelena couldn’t help asking first, "Logan, did you find something?"
Sawako and Jessica kept cutting while throwing confused looks at him.
Only after they had cleared most of the weeds and opened a path to the tents did Logan explain, "These ’weeds’ are the legendary Spirit-Channeling Herbs."
Hearing that, Sawako and Yelena’s eyes almost popped out.
Ignoring the dirt on their hands, they scooped up the grass and looked closely.
"It really is the Spirit-Channeling Herb! I’ve seen a specimen of it in the Lost World encyclopedia!" Sawako said, jumping with excitement.
After they finished checking in, everyone got a key. The number on each started with "001."
Curious and hopeful, they went straight to their assigned camp.
When they saw the place, like bears and tigers had torn it apart, Yelena and Sawako were stunned. The fence leaned all over the place, the tents were full of holes that let the wind through, and the weeds were waist-high.
Sawako dropped her key, stomped her foot, and snapped, "What is this dump? Is this a hardship camp?"
Jessica and Yelena looked helpless, not sure what to do.
Only Logan lit up at the sight of the plants—he was practically drooling.
He stepped in, grabbed a short knife, and started cutting. "Come help! Cut all this grass! Hurry!"
He spoke fast, like he was afraid someone else would see. His knife flashed nonstop, and he quickly cleared a flat patch.
The girls started working too.
Yelena couldn’t hold back and asked, "Logan, did you find something?"
Sawako and Jessica kept cutting while glancing at him, confused.
Once they had cleared most of the weeds and opened a path to the tents, Logan finally explained, "These ’weeds’ are the legendary Spirit-Channeling Herbs."
"These are half a person tall," Yelena said, picking up a bunch of the herbs, excited.
"Legend says even a 30-centimeter Spirit-Channeling Herb can put a person into deep meditation, greatly boost their sense of external energy, and make training several times faster."
Behind them, Jessica was weaving a bracelet from the herbs. After she heard what they were, she went blank with shock.
Then she hurriedly tucked the finished bracelet into her pocket like a treasure, not minding the dirt, grinning like a fool.
Seeing them so excited, Logan didn’t explain more. He walked to the first tent and slowly pushed open the flap.
A ripple spread through the space.
Logan was pulled into the tent.
The girls followed him in.
They felt a moment of dizziness. When everything settled, they realized they were standing in the center of a small palace.
Logan looked around and quickly noticed a crystal hanging from the ceiling—it was a complete spatial fragment.
"This is almost a small Blood Cultivation Realm!" Logan said, admiring the setup while being shocked by how rich the Genius Training Camp was.
The Temple would nearly turn on the City Lord for just half a Blood Cultivation Realm’s resources. But here, a full Blood Cultivation Realm’s worth of resources was only enough to build one tent.
That’s crazy luxury.
Right then, everyone realized how valuable this camp was. All complaints vanished.
Yelena and Sawako quickly called their bodyguards and attendants, and together they cleaned up the camp.
Soon, the once messy, leaning camp was tidy. Logan, Yelena, and Sawako took the three biggest tents.
Jessica and the two attendants were settled in the three smallest tents.
By evening, Jessica and the two attendants were making a fire and cooking.
Suddenly, green eyes lit up around the camp, and the roars of beasts closed in fast.
"Damn it, Phantom Leopards! Three of them!" an experienced attendant shouted a warning.
Logan, Yelena, and Sawako rushed out of the tent. The three Phantom Leopards had already leaped over the fence and were lunging at Jessica and the two attendants.
Phantom Leopards are among the fastest monsters. They’re born hunters, great at ambush and sneak attacks.
Jessica and the two attendants didn’t have time to summon their familiars. Danger hit in an instant, and they split up to dodge.
The three Phantom Leopards worked together really well. When they saw everyone split up, they locked onto the weakest—Jessica—and rushed her.
Sawako and Yelena went pale when they saw Jessica in danger.
Only Logan stayed calm, frowning as he stared at the three Phantom Leopards.
To him, their movements and teamwork looked too human.
Earlier, in the Blood Cultivation Realm, he had dealt with stronger monsters like the Twin-Headed Wolf.
Monsters at the Phantom Leopard level shouldn’t be this smart or know tactics.
With that thought, a sharp light flashed in Logan’s eyes. The three Phantom Leopards that were about to catch Jessica suddenly stopped.
Confusion flickered in their eyes, then they spread out into a triangular formation and stood guard around the camp.
Seeing this, Yelena and Sawako both sighed in relief.
They knew Logan must have set up a skill array in his familiar space and imprinted the Succubus’s Enslave Mind skill.
"Looks like it’s not just us getting better—Logan is getting stronger too," Yelena said, and took Sawako’s hand to continue making dinner.
Outside the camp, in dense forest one kilometer away.
A mysterious woman sensed the three Phantom Leopards were completely under his control. She looked delighted. "Logan, you’re really extravagant. When others develop their familiar space, they focus on boosting their own survival first."
"But you, you chose to imprint skills first. That will boost your combat power a lot, but your weak body will still hold you back. I want to see how far you can go in the Genius Training Camp."
She turned to leave, but a staff member stopped her. "Miss, those three Phantom Leopards were supposed to attack students in other camps. Could you talk to Logan and ask him to return them?"
"Heh, they’re his reward. Let him keep them." She kept walking.
But thinking the other camps also needed trials, she paused, turned, and ordered: "For the other camps, find some venomous bugs, snakes, zombies, ghosts. It’s all the same."
"But wouldn’t that be unfair to the other students? The Phantom Leopard is the least dangerous species in this forest," the staffer said, sweating, afraid to agree.
"Are you kidding? On day one you want ghosts and zombies to attack these students? Miss, you really aren’t afraid they’ll all drop out," someone muttered.
The mysterious woman didn’t see it that way. She insisted, "Do as I say. Since when has the Genius Training Camp cared about fairness? Don’t forget, the only goal of the Camp is to make a [supernova]!"
Her voice turned cold, full of menace. "Aside from the [supernova], the others don’t matter. A true [supernova] won’t be stopped by tests like these."
With that, she turned into a streak of light and vanished into the forest.
The staff looked at each other. Finally, someone sighed, "Let’s just catch some zombies. They’re scary, but at least they’re safer."
"Agreed."
"Agreed."
They reached a decision and scattered.
That night, Logan and the others sat around the camp, happily eating dinner.
The only downside was the forest, which sent out bursts of screams now and then.
A few Phantom Leopards stood guard. At first, Logan’s group was startled by the noise, then they stopped caring.
They didn’t know those screams were caused by Logan enslaving the three Phantom Leopards.
At dawn the next day, just after Logan woke up, the spatial fragment in the tent palace lowered a projection.
The mysterious woman appeared and spoke at once. "My name is Sophia, chief instructor for Round One of the Genius Training Camp. From now on, I talk, you listen."
