Angle's Arrogance? My Pact with the Succubus Queen!
Chapter 51: The Tattalia Family Takes Action
CHAPTER 51: CHAPTER 51: THE TATTALIA FAMILY TAKES ACTION
"It’s only 3,000 points. That girl from Storm Wind City still can’t threaten you." An old man beside Victor stepped forward and comforted him. "Victor, you’re still first on the points board."
Hearing him speak, Victor slowly calmed down. "Teacher, I enjoy being far ahead and being chased, but I don’t like the gap behind me getting smaller."
Victor loved the sense of superiority that came from his family’s power.
Three thousand points wasn’t much to him, but it was still a threat.
Seeing this, the old man quickly warned him, "You just need to train hard and keep getting stronger. Going to explore the Blood Cultivation Realm will only waste your time to improve."
Victor agreed with the reminder. He stood up, swirled the wine in his glass, and drank it all. "Teacher, I know what to do. Since Yelena can have others hunt master-level monsters for points, I can use the Tattalia family’s power to climb the leaderboard too."
With that, Victor walked to the center of the palace and opened a holographic projection.
In the middle, a ranking list that seemed to go on forever appeared before him.
Victor fixed his eyes on the very bottom, where Logan’s name showed 300 points. His gaze turned cold. "Teacher, you still haven’t found that guy’s whereabouts?"
The old man shook his head. "Victor, someone like that, wasting time in the Blood Cultivation Realm and risking his life just to earn points, isn’t worth your attention. Besides, he’s in last place on the board. He’s destined to fail the first internal war of the Genius Training Camp."
"But Evelynna seems especially interested in him. I can’t let my fiancée get dragged into any gossip, and I won’t let the man she cares about have any chance to threaten me!" With that, Victor ignored the old man’s attempt to stop him, picked up his phone again, and gave orders to his family: "Keep a close watch on the master-level Blood Cultivation Realms around Saint Heart City. Buy the familiar materials from those explorers at high prices. If they won’t sell, take them by force!"
After hanging up the phone, Victor smiled slightly, but his face looked twisted. "No matter what rank Logan is in now, I want him to earn zero points! I want him to watch the gap between us grow bigger and bigger, but be completely powerless to do anything about it! When that day comes, I’ll personally destroy him in the first round of the civil war and kick him out of the Genius Training Camp!"
The old man sensed the anger in Victor’s body and sighed softly. "As long as it doesn’t affect your training, this is just a little fun. But buying so many monster materials like this might make the family unhappy."
"Don’t worry, teacher." Victor said. "I’ve already calculated it. The points the Genius Training Camp gives for Master-level monster materials are eight times higher than the market price in federation coins. When I say that, his eyes became brighter, full of excitement. "That means I can use 1 billion federation coins to get 8 billion worth of points. I can use this chance to upgrade my system and maybe even break through to the Master level."
He stood with his hands behind his back, his face full of arrogance. "At that time, I’ll be the youngest Master-level familiar tamer in the whole federation. Let’s see who in the family will dare to talk behind my back!"
Outside the 9527th Blood Cultivation Realm.
Logan walked out of the Blood Cultivation Realm alone.
The army of Saint Heart City had a very mature way of dealing with Master-level Blood Cultivation Realms.
For the first three days, they sent scout teams to check the way and collect information.
For the next two days, they sent attack teams to clear out the monsters.
On the last day, top warriors were sent in to kill the strongest guardians inside the Blood Cultivation Realm.
The next day was used to clean up the battlefield, collect resources, and extract spatial fragments from the realm.
Logan, as a member of the third scouting team, just submitted a few random reports and managed to pass the check. He got his reward from the exploration team — a total of 100,000 federation coins.
At that moment, the traders waiting outside the Blood Cultivation Realm approached him and asked if he had anything good to sell.
Logan knew they were people who resold monster materials. He took out a few scales from a Bullhead Python and said: "Here, I picked these up while collecting intelligence. What do you think they’re worth?"
But when the traders saw the broken, blood-sticky scales, they lost interest right away.
"Hey, where did you find this junk? Do you have any monster young ones? They’re really valuable!"
"Right, if not that, do you have any rare plants? The kind you can use for alchemy or medicine?"
Logan just shook his head at all their questions.
He took off his backpack and shook it in front of the traders. A bunch of broken and messy things fell out — strange-looking rocks, hair from monster corpses, and some hard, dry food.
When the traders saw this, they got angry and turned around, walking away without another word.
As they walked, the traders kept muttering and complaining loudly.
"Bad luck! I knew it — the scouts never bring anything good!"
"That guy looks hurt. It’s already a miracle he made it out alive. You don’t expect him to kill a Master-level monster by himself, do you?"
"Hey, you know the main force of the Blood Cultivation Realm expedition is from the military. We can’t get anything from them. We have to rely on these free-range familiar tamers instead."
"Never mind, let’s wait a bit longer. The Tattalia family pays a lot for monster materials. If we get a full monster corpse, the price can double. Keep your eyes open!"
...
Logan heard the traders talking and let out a cold smile.
He had already known about this from the third scouting team he had sent out a day earlier.
The Tattalia family wasn’t just buying monster corpses at high prices — they were also taking them by force.
Logan could easily guess that this was all Victor’s doing.
So, as soon as he left the Blood Cultivation Realm, Logan went straight back to Saint Heart City and visited Steve, one of the scouting team members.
"Master, you’re here!" Steve greeted him respectfully and led him into the house.
On the table inside were all sorts of human face masks, scattered in a messy way.
Logan looked at them and nodded slightly. "Did you get everything ready for me?"
Steve immediately turned around and took out a box. Inside were thirty neatly arranged bottles of potion.
"Everything is ready, just as you asked," he said.
"Good," Logan said, nodding as he picked up each bottle and checked them.
These potions were the key materials for setting up the ritual circle.
To be safe, Logan had ordered Steve and the others to disguise themselves and each buy two types of potions.
Half of the potions were fake — just useless materials to fool others.
This arrangement made sure that even if the scouts had any accidents, they wouldn’t leak any information about the ritual circle.
These past few days, Logan hadn’t killed too many monsters inside the 9527th Blood Cultivation Realm.
Most of his time was spent stealing monster young ones. He pretty much turned the whole realm upside down.
Just the monster babies and eggs stored in his familiar space added up to thousands.
To make sure their life energy didn’t disappear, Logan had to break their souls and then have Kerparos freeze their bodies.
Now, all he needed were these potions — and he could perform an even bigger ceremony.
First, he had Steve and others keep pretending to be someone else. They spread out in Saint Heart City, staying hidden and gathering information.
He changed his appearance to look like Steve and went to the biggest familiar market in Saint Heart City, the Beast Merchant Shop.
As soon as he walked in, Logan got straight to the point: "Boss, I need a flying familiar. It should be able to ride and be fast."
The shop owner saw Logan’s clear request and thought he must be a big customer. He welcomed him warmly. "Sir, I can tell you’re an expert just by your words. Let’s go downstairs and take a look at the goods. You can pick one right there!"
Logan followed the owner through three levels of underground tunnels and finally reached a huge underground space.
Logan walked between rows of iron cages, quietly listening to the shop owner’s introduction and recommendations.
But after looking through everything, the best one that met Logan’s needs was only a B-level, 3 stars familiar.
For someone like Logan, who was used to commanding A-level familiars, a B-level one was no longer enough.
A hint of annoyance flashed across Logan’s face. He spoke coldly: "Boss, are you saying I don’t have money? You’re showing me this kind of trash?"
Then, Logan intentionally threw out a Master-level insect monster egg. The shop owner was stunned on the spot. "Wow! A complete insect monster young one! This is worth more than ten adult insect monster corpses!"
Seeing that Logan had such a rare item, the shop owner quickly smiled and said: "Sir, please calm down. Baoshou is the biggest familiar shop in Saint Heart City, and we definitely have something that will please you."
He grabbed Logan’s arm and led him to the center of the underground space.
The shop owner stepped on more than a dozen floor panels before finally activating a switch.
A huge iron cage slowly rose, and a terrifying energy immediately filled the air.
"What is this?" Logan frowned and stared closely at the cage. But what he saw was just a giant egg, about the size of a child.
Seeing Logan’s expression, the shop owner quickly smiled. "Sir, don’t misunderstand. This is a war trophy from the last federal expedition. The City Lord herself examined it. She said that once this egg hatches, the familiar inside will be at least A-level, 3 stars."
"What kind of familiar’s egg is this? Did the City Lord say that?" Logan asked curiously.
"Uh... the City Lord didn’t mention it directly. But eggs are usually from birds, right? And birds can fly. That fits your need for a riding familiar," the shop owner said, trying to be friendly and not offend Logan.
Logan rolled his eyes at the shop owner’s nonsense. "Not all eggs come from birds. Some come from turtles!"
