Angle's Arrogance? My Pact with the Succubus Queen!
Chapter 52: The Third Familiar, Nabo!
CHAPTER 52: CHAPTER 52: THE THIRD FAMILIAR, NABO!
As he spoke, Logan’s eyes flashed with a sharp light, and he stared intently at the giant egg.
Soon, a list of information about the egg appeared before Logan’s eyes.
[Name: Nabo (Unhatched)]
[Race: Mountain-Carrying Tortoise (Ocean Guardian)]
[Stats: Sea, Rock]
[Rank: A-level 3 stars]
[Talent: Tortoise Prism Armor, Move Mountains, Turn Seas]
[Skill: Guard Blood Cultivation Realm, Shockwave, Water Dragon Cannon]
[Breeding Advice: Bake Nabo for 24 hours straight with 1000-degree high heat. This will simulate the hatching environment of a mountain-carrying tortoise, helping Nabo break out of the shell. After hatching, Nabo will see the first living being it meets as its Master and voluntarily form a bond. It won’t take up a slot for a familiar tamer.]
After reading the message, Logan’s mouth twitched slightly.
Logan didn’t expect that the thing he said was actually true—it was just a turtle egg.
The boss probably didn’t know where the egg came from. He just knew it was special, but didn’t have a clue how to hatch it.
So Logan sighed on purpose, looking really disappointed. "Boss, I think it’s just a turtle egg. If you don’t have a real familiar, I’ll go look somewhere else."
With that, he turned to leave.
But the boss had just seen the monster baby specimen on Logan’s body. He wasn’t about to let him go.
In a hurry, the boss ran after him and blocked his way again, his voice full of urgency: "Sir, I really don’t know what kind of egg it is, but its rank is definitely above A-level. You know, A-level familiars aren’t something you see every day. How about you take this egg, and I’ll give you a discount."
At this, the boss clenched his fists and said with a determined look: "Two monster baby specimens, and I’ll sell you the egg!"
Logan still looked unimpressed. "Two complete insect monster baby specimens sent to the lab could sell for a billion."
"Just one!" The boss said, his eyes red with desperation. "One specimen, and the egg is yours!"
Afraid that Logan would walk away, the boss explained: "To be honest, this egg has been in my shop for almost two years. Even the City Lord couldn’t tell what kind it was. He just said the energy coming from it is strong. It’s at least A-level. If you can hatch it, it’ll be a big help to you, right?"
Logan heard that and nodded silently.
According to the market price, a monster baby specimen at the Master level could really be worth this giant egg.
Five hundred million wasn’t too bad to let someone make a profit.
So Logan went back to the platform, walked around the egg twice, and then finally said: "Okay, I’ll take the egg. But you have to give me that B-level, 5 stars horned hawk as a free gift."
"Deal!" The boss didn’t hesitate at all and agreed to Logan’s request.
After finishing the deal with the boss, Logan quickly left the Beast Merchant Shop.
As he passed by a mall, he blended into the crowd.
Then he walked into a restroom, and in a flash, he changed his appearance to look like Jesse. After that, he quietly left Saint Heart City.
Outside the city, in an old, abandoned cave.
Kerparos kept breathing out fierce flames, turning the cave walls red-hot.
Logan was roasting a piece of bread over the fire, waiting for the giant egg to hatch.
Behind him, the B-level, 5 stars horned hawk was curled up, watching Kerparos carefully and making no noise at all.
Seeing this, Logan smiled and tossed it a piece of steak. "Eat up," he said. "Once Nabo hatches, I’ll make a pact with you. First come, first served—don’t worry, I won’t forget."
The horned hawk was smart. It understood Logan’s words and carefully picked up the steak, eating it.
At the same time, it tried to please Logan by gently flapping its wings to help cool him down.
Logan saw that it was polite and gave it a second piece of steak.
[Name: Chihua]
[Race: Horned Hawk (Royal Bloodline)]
[Stat: Storm]
[Rank: B-level 5 stars]
[Talent: Wind Coin Affinity, Clear Vision]
[Skill: Wind Blade Tornado, Wing Strike]
[Training Advice: Feed it enough delicious food every day. Its skill Wing Strike can evolve into Sublight Speed Strike, allowing it to move straight for 8 kilometers in an instant.]
To be honest, even Logan almost didn’t recognize it at first.
Although Red Feather is only B-level 5 stars, once its Wing Strike evolves, it becomes a top-level skill for moving on the battlefield. It can attack well and also defend properly.
The only hard part about evolving this skill is food.
But what kind of good food can a horned hawk eat? Any piece of meat cooked in any way is a delicious treat to it.
Logan just tried giving it a burnt steak, and Red Feather ate it with oil dripping from its mouth, looking completely happy and satisfied.
After a whole night, the big egg that Logan had placed in the corner finally started to move.
Crack, crack, crack...
A loud, sharp sound filled the air as a short, thick claw came out of the egg.
Logan saw this and gave Kerparos a quick look.
The Three-Headed Hell Wolf immediately stood up and grabbed Red Feather by the neck with its mouth, then ran out of the cave as fast as it could.
Logan watched the egg quietly, seeing the claw slowly break the shell and pull the pieces inside. He was surprised for a moment.
Then, he heard a sound coming from inside the egg—like crunching and biting.
"Hey, is this turtle eating the eggshell?" Logan realized what Nabo was doing and immediately ran over to the egg.
He didn’t have time to wait for Nabo to eat through the shell slowly, so he jumped up and put his head through the hole in the egg.
Through the hole, he saw a pair of eyes glowing like light bulbs, and then a soft, crying sound came out of the egg.
Before Logan could do anything, a bright green light shot straight into his forehead.
Right after that, deep in Logan’s soul ocean, next to the two familiar contracts that were already side by side, a new green contract mark suddenly appeared.
Through this mark, Logan could clearly feel Nabo’s emotions—happy, excited, and affectionate.
"Dad!"
"Dad!"
Nabo kept making those baby-like sounds.
Through the contract mark, those sounds quickly turned into words Logan could understand.
"Wow, I got a turtle son?" Logan looked at Nabo, totally confused, but still waved at it and gave it a smile that looked more like a frown.
But Nabo didn’t seem to mind. It got even happier.
At that moment, its slow movements suddenly sped up.
The big egg, which had been steady and calm, started shaking violently.
Then, in Logan’s eyes, the egg began to crack all over, with lots of small cracks spreading quickly.
Nabo’s claw kept poking through the shell, and then it would swallow the pieces it broke off, like eating without chewing.
Logan watched Nabo’s cute behavior and his eyes lit up again.
[Name: Nabo (Young Stage)]
[Race: Mountain-Carrying Turtle (Ocean Guardian)]
[Stats: Sea, Rock]
[Rank: A-level 3 stars]
[Stage: Elite 1 star]
[Talent: Tortoise Prism Armor, Move Mountains, Turn Seas]
[Skill: Protect the Blood Cultivation Realm, Shockwave, Water Dragon Cannon]
[Stats: Power 80, Stamina 100, Mind 10, Agility 15]
[Training Tip: Provide life energy to help Nabo grow faster. Note: Young Mountain Turtles are as big as a basketball court. Train carefully.]
Logan looked at Nabo’s super one-sided stats and slapped his forehead right away.
A teenager that’s as big as a basketball court? What about when it’s a teenager? What about when it’s fully grown?
Just thinking about how big Nabo would get—like at least a football field—made Logan feel speechless.
But he was lucky that his familiar space was big enough. He could usually keep Nabo inside it.
Otherwise, if someone else had a contract with Nabo, that person would probably spend their whole life sitting on its shell.
Thinking about this, Logan waved his hand and patted Nabo’s shell, sending it into his familiar space.
Maybe it was because of its natural love for the ocean, but as soon as Nabo landed on the beach in the familiar space, it ran straight toward the sea.
Seeing Nabo swimming in the water, Logan’s face quickly changed from being worried to happy.
Right, his familiar space wasn’t just islands, forests, and beaches—it also had the sky and the ocean.
After realizing this, Logan quickly left the familiar space and found Kerparos.
"Do you want to put Nabo’s territory underwater?" When Kerparos heard Logan’s idea, his eyes lit up.
If Nabo really grew as big as a football field, then maybe Logan’s familiar space would end up with a second island.
"Underwater is great—it doesn’t take up space, and it gets water element bonuses naturally!" Kerparos said to himself, then followed Logan into the familiar space.
Of course, Logan also made a contract with the horned hawk Red Feather and brought it in too.
Red Feather and Nabo had never been to Logan’s familiar space before. They were both full of curiosity and quickly started playing together.
Logan and Kerparos quickly planned and set up Nabo’s territory.
Since they didn’t have enough materials, Kerparos, as before, used whatever was around to build simple houses and Rune Arrays to be Nabo’s temporary home.
Then, Logan placed Red Feather’s territory on the other side of the island.
There were lots of building materials and wood piled up there. Logan used what was available and, with his control over the familiar space, quickly built a small hill for the horned hawk Red Feather.
"Stay here for now. When I make more money next time, I’ll fix things up for you better," Logan said. He threw two pieces of meat to Nabo and Red Feather, then went back into the cave to get his potions.
After the last ritual, Logan had learned that the biggest winner was the familiar.
Now that he had all four familiars, it was time to start the ritual.
Even though Nabo didn’t take up a contract slot, Logan didn’t want to wait.
