Chapter 88: Battle Method – Dimensional Ambush!
CHAPTER 88: CHAPTER 88: BATTLE METHOD – DIMENSIONAL AMBUSH!
Natalia heard Logan’s laugh, and a strange feeling of worry came over her. "What are you going to do?"
Logan took a deep breath, then sent Natalia a map. "City Lord, please tell General Philip — I’ll try to save as many survivors as I can in the next two days. Ask him to wait for me at the WF101 checkpoint outside Saint Heart City."
When Logan said he would come back, Natalia felt a little relieved.
Although it was two days later than she had expected, it was still okay.
So Natalia added again, "Take care of yourself. You still owe me something!"
Logan smiled. "Don’t worry, my luck is good. I won’t die here."
After hanging up, Logan’s eyes turned cold again.
He turned around and looked at every person in the group. "Everyone, follow me to Camp CEM38."
Then, Logan jumped onto the back of his horned hawk, Red Feather, and flew toward their destination.
Tracy and Jessica were in charge of leading the group.
Logan was busy clearing out monster groups along the way.
Any group with more than three monsters was sent into his War Domain.
Luckily, he had enough War Domains to keep going without stopping.
Some monsters were sent to the underwater world and killed by Nabo and the Seductive Mermaid. Others were sent to the Death Desert and overwhelmed by the Black Ant Army. Some went to the Lava Volcano and were smashed into pieces by the Titan Giant Ape. And some were sent to the polar ice fields and turned into a string of meat by the Abyssal Troll.
Gradually, Logan felt more and more confident with his soul power.
At first, when he wanted to send monsters into the War Domain, he had to take everything around them — trees, rocks, and even parts of the ground.
But now, he could control the exact area of the War Domain. Whether it was one monster or a hundred, he could send them exactly where he wanted without affecting the surroundings.
Because of this, he saved a lot of familiar space energy and discovered a new ability — remote summoning.
Before, like most familiar tamers, Logan could only open the familiar space door behind him and bring his creatures into the real world.
Now, he could open the familiar space door anywhere within 500 meters of himself, and summon his creatures for battle with great accuracy.
"This ability might open up a new way of fighting,"Logan said as he sat on Red Feather’s back, suddenly thinking of something. "Red Feather, look for some lone monsters. Just stay 500 meters away — don’t get too close."
Red Feather heard Logan’s command and immediately flew toward a Master 4-star raging brown bear.
[Race: Raging Brown Bear (Out of Control)]
[Stat: Stone]
[Ranking: B-level 3 stars]
[Stage: Master 4 stars]
[Talents: Power of Strength, Stone Armor]
[Skills: Tremor Pulse, Frenzy, War Charge, Claw Storm]
[Stats: Power 185, Stamina 195, Mind 65, Agility 83]
...
Logan estimated how far the bear was from him, then started using his soul power to lock onto a spot one meter behind the creature.
"Titan Giant Ape!"
Logan shouted loudly, and a small space rift suddenly opened behind the raging brown bear.
Before the bear could turn around, the Titan Giant Ape’s huge fist came down directly on its head.
"Hey!"
With a painful cry, the raging brown bear turned around to fight back.
Its sharp claws swung quickly, and the bear bared its teeth, taking a big bite at the back.
But all of a sudden, there was a loud *crack*, and the bear missed completely. There was nothing behind it.
At that moment, another space rift opened up behind the bear, on its side.
The Titan Giant Ape kicked through the rift and hit the bear right in the backside. The huge monster, weighing dozens of tons, was sent flying forward, landing face-first on the ground.
After being tricked twice, the raging brown bear was completely enraged.
It swung its claws wildly in all directions, attacking every way it could, but it couldn’t find the Titan Giant Ape that had been attacking it.
Then, a new space rift opened right above the bear.
In a flash, the Titan Giant Ape grabbed the bear’s neck with both big hands and twisted it hard.
In an instant, the head of the master-level monster was twisted off, and it stopped moving.
Logan guided his horned hawk, Red Feather, down to land in front of the raging brown bear. He casually pulled the dead body into his familiar space.
He was very satisfied with how he used his soul power this time. "Looks like I should sign up a few strong assassin-type familiars later."
After saying that, Logan once again controlled Red Feather to look for a new target.
Whenever he met a group of monsters, he sent them into the War Domain.
If there were just a few monsters here and there, he used them to practice his new fighting method.
In fact, he even gave this new strategy a new name: [Dimensional Ambush].
While Logan was fighting like a hero, the survivors behind him were getting bored.
They had followed Logan for more than ten kilometers, and they only met two monsters along the way.
The familiar tamers on the edge saw a few lone monsters and sent out their own familiars.
With dozens of familiars attacking just two monsters, they quickly tore the two creatures into pieces.
To be honest, the two monsters didn’t even have enough meat for all the familiars.
A kid standing in the inner circle looked with curious eyes and pulled on his dad’s arm, saying: "Dad, have we been going too easy? We only met two monsters so far."
His father gently touched the kid’s head and said in a sad voice, "Stupid kid, it’s not that we’re going easy. We’re walking on the path that someone else was carrying the weight for. We should thank that big brother, okay?"
The kid nodded slowly, not really understanding.
Then he lifted his head, looking straight at the horned hawk in the sky with a determined face. "Dad, when I grow up, I want to be like that big brother and protect a lot of people!"
With Logan leading the way, the survivors moved very quickly.
Not long after they left the area, three elite military teams arrived.
Colonel Owen stood in front of the three groups, checking the footprints on the ground and looking confused. "Strange, we followed them from coordinates (147, 754) all the way here. According to the footprints, there were about 70 survivors at first. But by this area, the number had jumped to over 100. How is that possible?"
Beside him, Colonel Schreiber from the Storm Wind City’s elite team looked just as shocked. "Even stranger, their steps were light and steady. They didn’t look like they were running away. It was more like they were going on a family trip! Oh, this makes no sense at all!"
In the middle, Colonel Izumi from Edo Castle crouched down, sniffing the ground with a shocked look. "This group didn’t leave any blood scent. It looks like they didn’t go through any real battle at all."
After checking carefully, the three teams realized that the survivors had only fought twice after leaving (147, 754 — and both times were easy wins.
This information was sent back to the military intelligence office, and it shocked the officers there.
They guessed that Logan’s destination was CEM38 Camp, and they all frowned.
"How did this group manage to avoid the beast tides? That camp has already been hit by three small waves of beasts."
"The satellite map shows that this group moves like a cleaner. Wherever they go, the beast tides just disappear."
"Do you mean there’s some power we can’t see cleaning up the beast tides?"
"No, we can see it. Logan’s phone location is always moving."
At this point, General Philip, who had been quietly listening to the report, cleared his throat. The whole intelligence room went silent.
Philip lit a cigarette, took a deep puff, and blew out a big smoke ring before speaking slowly. "That’s it. From now on, the phone location of Logan and his friends is classified as top secret. No one is allowed to access it."
Then he crushed the cigarette in the ashtray with a fierce look in his eyes. "Also, the information that Logan might have the ability to clear the beast tides is now a top-secret military file. Anyone who leaks this will be sent to hell by me personally."
After saying that, General Philip stood up and left the intelligence room in a hurry.
The officers looked at each other, unsure what to say. They were all afraid of saying the wrong thing and getting punished.
Soon, Colonel Owen, who was tracking Logan on the front line, received an urgent order.
"Are we going directly to CEM38 Camp?"Owen looked at his phone and frowned. "It seems the intelligence office guessed where Logan is going next. I hope we can stop him there."
Colonel Izumi, on the other side, also got the same order—but he was clearly not happy. "Hmph, so we have to take a long way just to stop a high school kid? I say we don’t even need to bother. I can track him by smell alone. I’ll catch him in an hour."
Colonel Schreiber, hearing Izumi’s boast, leaned against a tree and mocked him. "Colonel Izumi, are you that confident about your nose? But our job is to protect Logan, not to catch him. Don’t do anything stupid, or I’ll kill you."
