Chapter 693 693: "If you must bully someone, bully me instead" -Kuroko Shirai
Awaki Musujime seemed to grasp what Rei Ao was after. She disentangled herself from Rei Ao's hand with a satisfied smile, then sauntered over to Kuroko. With a wicked grin, she pinched Kuroko's cheek.
"You poor, poor Kuroko~"
She mimicked the tone Kuroko often used in calling out to Mikoto.
"Wanna give it a try?"
"Get lost!"
Kuroko snarled, teeth clenched—her voice scratchy from crying.
"Hehe."
Awaki's voice took on a devilish whisper as she leaned in next to Kuroko's ear.
"Kuroko, don't you think your 'Onee-sama' looks… tormented?"
"…"
Kuroko bit down on her silver teeth. She believed that must be the case. Even though in reality, Mikoto felt quite the opposite.
"Haha, you can take her place if you like."
"???!"
That reminder felt like a path opening in Kuroko's mind, some twisted sense of protectiveness mingling with deeper jealousy eroding her last shred of sanity.
"Let go of Onee-sama…"
Kuroko cried.
"If you must bully someone, bully me instead!"
"Hmm?"
The room went quiet for a second.
Rei Ao asked Kuroko meaningfully, "You sure about that?"
Instantly, the force restraining her dissipated—only to be replaced by a compelling pull. Kuroko barely had time to react before being yanked by Rei Ao's telekinesis-like power, ending up right in front of him. She felt a flash of fear, overshadowed by her obsession with protecting her Onee-sama. She nodded without hesitation.
"I'm sure!"
"Heh, I admire your courage."
Rei Ao grinned. Then Kuroko saw Mikoto slip away, and Rei Ao turned his attention toward her instead. Awaki Musujime observed with keen interest from the sidelines.
For Kuroko, the experience that followed completely reshaped her view of the world. Each passing moment felt like it would shatter her soul but also brought overwhelming sensations. Her old twisted affection for Mikoto seemed childish next to this man's overwhelming power.
"Onee-sama…"
Tears welled in Kuroko's eyes as she kept thinking about her Onee-sama. Yet her Onee-sama was right there, watching with an awkward, embarrassed expression.
"Kuroko, you…"
Mikoto, seeing Kuroko staring at her in that position, hesitated before awkwardly making a small fist and murmuring, "Keep it up?"
"?????"
…
In the living room, Index was sitting on a white leather sofa, still in a daze. Under the lights, her snowy nun's habit was faintly transparent, hinting at her slender figure. She was twining her fingers anxiously around its hem, occasionally casting glances toward the corridor they'd come from.
"Kanzaki, w-what exactly are they doing back there?"
Index asked in a barely audible voice, her cheeks oddly flushed.
Next to her, Kanzaki Kaori sat stiffly as well. The tall Saint, clad in black jeans hugging her long legs, seemed uncharacteristically tense. Her dark eyes shone with conflicted emotion—equal parts embarrassment and an unnamable restlessness.
"They…"
Kanzaki cleared her throat, voice dropping several octaves but having no idea how to explain. Index buried her face even lower. Her mind involuntarily replayed the shocking image she'd glimpsed earlier.
"What are they doing, anyway?"
She asked in a tiny voice, her eyes watering.
"Mikoto looked like she was in pain, but at the same time…kind of happy?"
She truly didn't understand. She just found it very strange.
Kanzaki's face froze. As a member of the Necessarius, she knew hundreds of magic spells. But explaining adult intimacy to a pure-minded nun? She was utterly clueless.
"T-they're… just playing a game… right, a game!"
"Ha?"
Shokuhou Misaki, unable to stifle a laugh, interjected. Her generous chest quivered as she chuckled.
"Heh, a game?"
"Kanzaki-san, that's a pretty cute way to describe it."
Kanzaki glared at her furiously, but Shokuhou's cheeks were also notably flushed, and her legs twitched with restless anxiety. Evidently, she wasn't entirely calm either.
Just when the awkwardness soared to its peak, a special alert rang in their ears—the chat group's distinctive chime.
[Ding! Group Owner Rei Ao has started a live broadcast!]
"What's he up to now…?"
Shokuhou raised an eyebrow and opened the broadcast. Kanzaki and Index followed suit without thinking. In the next second, their expressions all froze.
It showed the same room from earlier, but now there were two extra participants: Shirai Kuroko and Awaki Musujime. Twined, entwined, all entangled in every sense of the word.
"Eek!"
Index yelped, toppling off the sofa in shock. Her pupils dilated, her mouth open in astonishment, stiff as if hit by lightning.
…
Kanzaki wasn't in any better shape. She shot up to her feet.
"Bang!"
Her chair scraped deafeningly against the floor, her face incredulous.
"Th-they… this… that…"
She was so flustered, she couldn't form a sentence, her fair cheeks burning bright red.
Shokuhou, eyes slightly widened, dropped her remote onto the sofa. Even she was shaken by this sudden, chaotic broadcast.
"My, what… bold tastes…"
She forced herself to maintain her queenly Tokiwadai composure, though her voice trembled slightly.
In the broadcast feed, Rei Ao suddenly turned to the camera, his iridescent eyes seemingly piercing their screens. A wicked smirk played on his lips, his voice low and raspy:
"Care to join us? There's room for more."
"Boom!"
Kanzaki slammed her fist on the coffee table, splitting its solid wood surface with cracks.
"Ugh… how shameless!"
She spat the words through gritted teeth, yet couldn't tear her gaze from the screen.
Index had curled herself into the couch corner, clutching a pillow over her face, but peeking through her fingers out of sheer curiosity.
Shokuhou took a deep breath and forced herself to close the broadcast. The living room lapsed into an oppressive silence. None of them spoke. Only the sound of uneasy breathing filled the space.
