Anomaly: Birth of the Strangest Demon Lord
Chapter 38: Duel of Status Part 2
CHAPTER 38: DUEL OF STATUS PART 2
But the orange flame armor on Alan’s body began devouring the blood flame.
Even James didn’t realize his flames were disappearing until he felt the enormous decrease in his cosmic energy.
He gritted his teeth and grabbed Alan by his waist, running towards a wall.
Seeing this, Alan increased the phoenix fire on his body.
"Ahhh!"
James felt an intense burn on his hand, forcing him to let go of Alan.
As soon as Alan was freed, he jumped back and landed.
The moment James stopped, Alan stepped forward and kicked him straight on his back.
Bang!
James was sent flying into the wall, crashing down while coughing out blood from his mouth.
His nose was also bleeding.
Most of the people watching this battle couldn’t believe what they were seeing.
They could see that Alan was only at the Second Rank.
That was three ranks lower than James, but somehow, he was dominating James.
Alan’s first aunt was watching this battle with curiosity. She had pale skin and a round face. Her eyes were a bit wider, and she had silver hair.
Unlike others, she was more curious about the bloodline of the Demon God.
It was said that the Blood of the Demon God could turn the waste into a genius.
Watching this battle, she could say that the rumor wasn’t wrong. Her nephew wasn’t physically good enough to unlock his genes.
Not only did he unlock his genes, but his physical strength was only weaker than James by a little bit.
This little gap wasn’t enough to crush Alan. So, James would need to use his Gene Art. Only that had enough power to crush Alan.
Suddenly, her eyes narrowed.
"Oh no!"
At this moment, James was angered beyond reason. He gathered a massive amount of cosmic energy above his head.
The cosmic energy turned into a blood flame that was red like blood as it slowly turned into a large trident.
[Gene Art- Blood Spear]
He roared as he sent the flaming trident towards Alan.
Seeing this, Alan simply raised his hand. A small bright orange flame appeared on his fingertips.
’A construct made out of flames? It seems like Gene Art is nothing more than manipulation and control of cosmic energy.’
[Phoenix]
He called out softly. The small flame slowly turned into a massive bird. The wings spanned out like true wings as it watched the upcoming flaming spear and let out a cry.
The cry was more than enough to send shockwaves.
[Devour]
Whoosh!
The Phoenix took off. It flapped its wings and reached in front of the flaming spear. Before it could hit, the phoenix opened its mouth and devoured it whole.
The flame spear tried breaking out, but was easily sublimated by the Phoenix Fire.
[Grap]
Suddenly, Alan used the Phoenix Claw and transformed into a hand.
Before James could react, his body was pulled towards Alan.
"Alan, stop!"
At this moment, a voice came from afar, but it didn’t work.
Alan put his hand on James’ chest and pushed him away.
James thought Alan wasn’t going to attack him and just pushed him away. But when he felt a strong heat on his chest, he lowered his head and saw a bomb attached to his body.
Boom!
Before he could react, the bomb exploded.
The explosion was so powerful that it shattered the walls around James, shattering the ceiling of the mansion and leaving a crater.
In the middle of that explosion was none other than James.
There was a scattered dark red flame on his body.
"James!"
A crying voice was heard in the mansion. Soon, many people came out of hiding.
The person crying was none other than Alan’s third aunt. She rushed into the flames and brought out James.
James’ condition was worse than anyone expected.
Both of his eyes had a metal shard on them. Several parts of his body were pierced by a similar metal shard.
His skin was burned, and the shockwave had shattered his bones.
Looking at almost unrecognizable James, everyone took a deep breath.
Especially guards who were pissing themselves.
Nobody expected Alan to be so cruel, especially to his cousin.
Alan was watching this coldly. When he turned around to leave, he heard a voice coming from the side.
"Didn’t you hear when I asked you to stop, Alan?"
Alan turned towards his first aunt, who had a furious expression on her face, and replied in a cold tone.
"Did you? Oh, I forgot. No, I didn’t. I think I remember the rules of the duel correctly, right, Mia?"
Alan acted nonchalantly as he turned towards Mia and asked.
Mia wanted to laugh at this moment, but knowing the occasion, she controlled her emotions and said.
"Yes, Young Lord! Duels can only be stopped when one of the participants in the duel dies or admits defeat. Since Young Lord James didn’t admit defeat, the duel hadn’t ended."
At this moment, his fifth cousin, the sister of James, shouted.
"But you fooled. You used the bomb in the middle of the battle."
Her eyes had turned red. She was looking at Alan with anger and frustration as if she wanted to attack him at any moment.
Considering how she was stronger than James, Alan became a bit serious and took out three bombs and a little bit of leftover metal.
He also pulled out a small dagger and touched its blunt edge. He put the metal on his other hand and started his Phoenix Fire.
"This is the creation of my own."
He didn’t need to finish the bomb. He just needed to show them.
His voice revealed sarcasm and said.
"Besides, this is the battle between two demons. Even if I use poison, it would be considered fair. And, don’t forget! I am three ranks below him, and he had the audacity to use Gene Art."
"It seems like even with both of his parents present, nobody taught him how to be a good person. Oh yeah! I forgot. Demons aren’t good. They are just evil."
Saying so, Alan turned around and waved his hand.
"If my dear cousins want to challenge me, I am happy to oblige. After all, I don’t have a choice, do I?"
This time, his first aunt didn’t stop him.
She had no reason to stop him unless she wanted to harm him. But if she did that, her husband would no longer look at her with good eyes.
She knew her husband well.
He loved every one of his children, and he wouldn’t let adults interfere with their matters.
Even if that wasn’t the case, she wouldn’t attack.
There was no other reason except that she didn’t hate or despise him.
"Mother, do you want me to?"
Her son spoke.
Alan’s first cousin. He was a seven-foot-tall man and had already surpassed the Genetic Transformation Stage.
"Are you stupid? Didn’t you see him taking out that dagger?"
"Cersi, don’t beat around the bushes! What is the problem here? This kind of injury is serious between cousins."
The Second Aunt asked.
She was concentrating her cosmic energy to heal James. His other wounds were simple, but his eyes were almost destroyed.
If she weren’t a powerful doctor, this would’ve been incurable.
Cersi looked at her with pity in her eyes and said.
"Sometimes I believe our husband married you only for your medical power, Maria. Can’t you even see that dagger? It was made out of a Cold Iron."
"The Cold Iron not only has the hardness of a normal iron but also the special ability to inflict cold. If he had used that material to make the bomb, do you think his eyes could still be saved?"
"I am going to question whether he can or not. Just the fact that he showed that dagger means that he was planning on going easy on James because he was his cousin."
"He also wanted to tell our family not to target him anymore, especially not you, Alice."
When she turned her eyes towards Alan’s fifth cousin, Alice immediately retorted.
"But he hurt my brother. Why shouldn’t I take revenge?"
"Because next time, he won’t hold back. Don’t you see what he is doing? He talked big, showed no respect to us, and seriously injured his cousin."
"Why did he do that? Because he knows if we try to kill him or even succeed, we will face the wraith of the elders."
"His importance to the Demon Race has increased significantly even if he becomes just a Sex Machine for our race. He knows this, so he can act the way he likes."
Hearing her words, Third Cousin asked.
"But Alan never acted like this before. Even when someone bullied him, he would not fight back or even complain."
Cersi narrowed her eyes and said.
"That’s the thing, Robin. Either he is suppressing his true nature or the blood has changed him."
"No matter what, we should ignore him for now."
