CHAPTER 829: UNEXPECTED INTRUDER

Mr. K believed Clovis was a reasonable person. As a reasonable person, they should make an alliance here so everyone could win.

However, what Mr. K didn’t know was that Clovis had owed Vina. Vina had played her part to hide his information, which, in turn, bought him a lot of time.

Now that it was his turn, he didn’t intend to go back on his promise.

All this time, Clovis had been doing everything in Vina’s interest, including the betrayal. All he did was for her to grow stronger and become the worthy heir of the Dark Supreme.

"I see." Clovis looked down for a moment. "So, what if I demand the exact same thing from you instead?"

"I’m sorry, but I don’t think it’s possible. We are the ones having the upper hand here." Mr. K shook his head. "In the end, they lost to Mr. Albert. I think it’s a better choice to ally with him, not them."

Clovis squinted his eyes with a grim expression. The tension rose as both sides were ready to clash.

However, Clovis suddenly raised his arms. "Well, indeed... Even if I want to fight you here, I won’t be able to do it. Even right now, I’m sure that I’m being targeted by your snipers."

"This is why I like you, Mr. Clovis. You are a very reasonable man." Mr. K smiled.

"From the way I see it, there should be one or two missions left before this battle is over. I mean, since this is a mission from the Dark Supreme, I might be able to learn from it and give a mission similar to it when training other people." Clovis shrugged.

"Hahahaha!’ Mr. K laughed before the atmosphere became awkward. "Sorry, I can’t tell you."

"You can’t?" Clovis frowned.

"You just have to hand her over to us, and I’ll gladly tell you about it."

"Hmm. You are playing with me right now. If I trust you and hand her over, you can turn your back on us. We will be the ones in trouble." Clovis shrugged.

"Why would we do that?"

"Isn’t the answer clear? We’re in this place. No one is going to say anything if we end up dead." Clovis stepped forward and glared at Mr. K. "I have been showing my sincerity, but you don’t even show an inch of sincerity. How am I supposed to trust you? How am I supposed to know you are not just a parasite that tries to suck me dry?"

"!!!" The people from the R.A.I.D. didn’t like that statement. How could Clovis even insult their leader?

At the same time, Clovis had a point. If he didn’t come with goodwill, he wouldn’t come through the front.

All his snipers had a clear shot at them. If Clovis didn’t intend to talk to him, he would send a few people up or just let them wait outside.

"I can do a lot of things if I want to, including starving you. You might think I’m troubled with the beasts around this cave, but you are wrong."

Clovis’ voice became cold. "If I want, I can lead them away. I have my wolf. With just a single provocation from him, I can lead them away. Of course, I can also lead you inside. Don’t you think it’s strange, Mr. K?"

Reolf was standing among them. In other words, the beasts definitely could enter inside, but they chose not to.

That was why Mr. K could only point to the back. "Do you see that briefcase next to Stefany? That briefcase contains the information you want. If we reach an agreement, you can get that briefcase."

"Captain!" one of the members protested, but Mr. K stopped him with a wave of his hand.

Even if Clovis knew about the briefcase, he couldn’t get it without fighting them.

So, it should be fine.

What Mr. K didn’t know was that Clovis had been buying time all this time. In his Skyglasses, the information had been updated.

[Snipers spotted.]

Clovis could see the positions of the snipers. They were indeed concealed both from the ground and the top, but it didn’t matter to him.

This whole time, he had been waiting for this message.

Clovis sighed before asking, "This is truly a tempting offer. What do you think I should do, Rea?"

Mr. K was perplexed because he had never heard that name, but all of a sudden, Jay jumped into the air.

"!!!" All of them raised their stances, and the snipers immediately aimed for Jay.

"It looks like you have made the wrong choice, Mr. Clovis. Such a shame." Mr. K was disappointed, thinking Clovis was too foolish to believe he could win against them here.

"Yes... such a shame." Clovis smiled.

Suddenly, a loud cry echoed from the sky as a giant bird suddenly entered the cave from the top.

"!!!"

"Right, Rea?" Clovis smirked.

That name was not anyone on the team; it was the name of the giant bird.
