Chapter 833: The Real Traitor
CHAPTER 833: THE REAL TRAITOR
Clovis clicked his tongue. "Melody!"
"Not yet. Give me ten seconds."
"Tsk!" Clovis could see a large number of beasts. By the time ten seconds were up, the beasts might have arrived. He could break through right away, but the map showed they had been surrounded.
In addition, showing their backs to the group that just called upon these beasts would be extremely dangerous.
Hence, he gave an order first. "We will split up the group. The rear comprises all Tier 7 humans, Nart, Eid, Jay, Erwin, Aileen, Christina, Reolf, Rin, and me! The second group will break through from this place to our rendezvous point. Melody, you’ll be in charge!"
"!!!" Several people were quite surprised by the arrangement. The first one was definitely Rin. She originally participated in this mission as a chef. However, seeing the current development, it didn’t seem she had much choice.
Still, it was surprising for Clovis to ask her to fight. Although her firepower was not low, Kanaria’s Soul Weapon seemed to be much stronger.
Besides, this was the most dangerous position, unless Clovis was telling her that the safest place would be beside him.
Nevertheless, the order had been given. As much as she didn’t like the post, it was clear that Clovis had an idea of what to do.
The second person was Eid. He had expected a change in the leadership, but it looked like there was no other way but to entrust it to Melody.
Melody was a good leader, but she wasn’t as quick-witted as Clovis. Still, she was solid, so Eid added, "Members of Three Swords. Follow her!"
The last person who didn’t expect this choice was Melody herself. She originally thought Clovis would be sending Nart, Eid, Jay, or Erwin, but it looked like he intended to have a clash with the Tier 8 beast first.
"Understood!" They all agreed to Clovis’ arrangement. In the end, Clovis had been a good leader for the past few days. Even during the negotiation, his trick allowed them to turn around the situation.
Since Clovis had made such a decision, they should trust him.
This was also the reason Clovis was extremely dangerous. Obviously, someone wanted him dead.
"Clovis!" Christina called his name out loud, warning him.
"!!!" Clovis sensed that presence thanks to her warning. He raised his blade at the last moment as someone struck his blade.
The immense strength of that strike pushed him back for several meters as the sword strike continued.
"Kh..." Clovis gritted his teeth, his eyes gradually rising to see who had attacked him.
To his surprise, the attacker was none other than the one-eyed swordsman. "You... So, you are the traitor!"
"!!!" Everyone who heard it was surprised. ’Traitor’ in Clovis’ mouth could only mean one thing: the one who was responsible for blowing that whistle.
Because of this very reason, Clovis was confused. Doing that would harm Albert. It was as if the one-eyed swordsman was actually not on Albert’s side.
He was just using Albert to get close to Clovis.
When he lifted up his vision, he realized that the R.A.I.D. was innocent. They, in fact, retreated to the cave in an attempt to save all their team members.
Blowing that whistle would just trap them, so they might end up suffering because they didn’t know when the beasts would disperse.
Nevertheless, now that the one-eyed swordsman had been confirmed as the traitor, Christina, who was the nearest to Clovis, suddenly appeared from the left side of the one-eyed swordsman.
"!!!" The one-eyed swordsman widened his eyes and glanced to the right, only to be smashed by her shield and launched away.
He rolled a few times on the ground, but when he stopped, he tossed his body one more time. After all, Aileen almost stabbed him from above.
"He could sense me?" Aileen raised her eyebrows.
Before anyone could attack, the trees were bulldozed by a massive bison.
"Oooogghhh!" A loud growl shook the area as the Tier 8 beast had finally arrived. Alongside him were numerous beasts, including 2 Tier 7 beasts and a lot of Tier 6 beasts. If they continued here, they would die without a doubt.
What no one expected, including Clovis, was Lucifania’s voice. All of a sudden, they could hear her saying, "Jay, Nart, Eid. Attack its right front foot, 3 meters above the ground!"
"!!!" They were baffled. What shocked Clovis the most was that he found Luci when he turned his head to the left.
"Please!" Luci added one more word when she realized no one was moving.
"Do it!" Clovis didn’t know what was going on, but he chose to trust her word for the time being. In addition, he activated his Abyss Time and struck the one-eyed swordsman who had approached him again.
Because of this person, Clovis had no time to deal with the Tier 8 bison.
On the other hand, after hearing Clovis’ order, they all moved in unison. To their surprise, a mark suddenly appeared on that exact spot as if Melody were still covering for them.
"!!!" All three of them swung their swords at the same time. The moment they hit it, they could feel the toughness of the hide.
Even with their strength, they didn’t manage to put a graze on the bison’s skin.
Yet, despite not hurting the bison, the latter actually moved back a few steps as if it was having a hard time standing.
"!!!" They didn’t expect their useless attack would have such an effect. Because it moved back, it couldn’t do any counterattacks.
’Huuu...’ Luci took a deep breath before opening her eyes again. Unlike anyone else, her vision was showing a different thing.
Muscles, internal structures, bones... All of them were transmitted. She had killed and researched a lot of beasts ever since she had become an explorer. And thanks to Clovis’ mother, she could finally take advantage of that knowledge.
Because she was with Aisha during the training, no one in the group knew about her new power.
The bison hurriedly charged toward them, not planning to let them go.
"Christina. Its left legs are weaker than the right ones!"
"!!!" Christina moved to the left side and used her Provoke. Thanks to her unique ability, more burden was pushed to the left legs, causing the bison to trip to the ground.
Christina couldn’t help but mutter in astonishment. "Oi, oi. Seriously?"
