CHAPTER 870: SOUL RIFLE

Clovis stood behind the three together with Erwin, Jay, and Christina.

"Is everyone in position?" Clovis asked.

"Yes!" They answered in unison.

"Alright." Clovis took a peek at their target, a Tier 8 proconsul. The Red Kong was four meters tall and three meters wide. Despite its size, he looked small because of all these trees.

More importantly, the beasts surrounding the proconsul were much fiercer than the two Tier 7 beasts they had fought earlier.

Among these beasts, Clovis could see two Tier 7 beasts and ten Tier 6 beasts. This lineup alone would overwhelm a lot of groups, especially with the size of the Libation Fiesta.

However, both Clovis and Melody had agreed on one thing. They were going to win.

Hence, Clovis ordered, "Kanaria, you may start!"

"Got it." Kanaria smiled. She had been standing on a tree branch, picking the thickest one, with her back facing the trunk.

Kanaria was the only one wearing the power armor in the group, but the power armor was definitely needed to operate her weapon.

Next to her was a huge bag that contained some bullets she had prepared for this mission.

Kanaria’s rifle suddenly expanded. The barrel grew to the size of her arm, the back popped out several sticks that were soon attached to the trees to help withstand the recoil.

Kanaria took out a magazine, which contained only a single bullet.

"I’m ready." Kanaria adjusted the aim. She was located 500 meters away from the proconsul, so it would take time for the bullet to travel. But each bullet would definitely pack a lot of punch.

"Take the shot at your discretion."

Kanaria squinted her eyes. "Firing!"

Bam!

The sniper produced a loud bang, which caused the beasts in the area to look up, as if they were searching for the origin of the sound.

Even the Red Kong was looking around before it suddenly jumped to the side.

Boom!

The bullet exploded upon impact, engulfing the red kong.

"!!!" The kong bounced a few times on the ground, his right arm was severely damaged.

"What is that?" Tianna and Tienna simply couldn’t believe what they had just seen. The power alone might rival one of the most advanced tanks in the world.

"Soul Weapon, RX-001, 1st Gen," Melody was the one replying to their confusion. "A sniper rifle that was capable of shooting a bullet that was as strong as a tank round. It could practically kill a Tier 7 beast if it hit. You could say Kanaria is a human tank now."

"Can I still change my weapon?" Tianna asked.

"What are you talking about? Without her toughness and the power suit, as well as other things to withstand the recoil, her shoulder would probably get dislocated from a single shot... or even worse, her bones would probably crack or shatter."

Even then, it was amazing. If this power were developed even further, it might even reach the power of a Tier 9 human known as Moon Bow.

"Ugh. Even now, I still have a hard time enduring the recoil..." Kanaria’s voice soon echoed. She was closing her eyes, enduring all the pain from a single shot. She hurriedly changed to a new magazine while trying to recover. If not for her special noise-canceling headphones, her eardrums would have ruptured.

But the damage was satisfying.

*Roar!* The red kong let out a roar, ordering the beasts to go toward Kanaria. He was holding his severely damaged arm.

Hundreds of beasts, if not thousands, were rushing in Kanaria’s direction.

"Here they come! Get ready." Melody warned.

"Get ready!"

"Go!"

The moment Melody gave the signal, Aileen jumped off the tree. She was the one responsible for the first move.

To ensure her success, she leaped the moment she saw two Tier 6 beasts closing in. Because of the two weeks of preparation Clovis set up, there were two people who had reached Tier 7. They were Rin and Aileen.

This was the only reason Clovis was confident in completing the mission his great-grandmother had given.

The Tier 6 beasts noticed Aileen’s presence, but it was too late. The moment they turned around, Aileen had slit their throats in rapid succession. She even took out several other lower level beasts around her.

Her existence, which kept appearing and disappearing, was like a grim reaper. Upon taking lives, she would then disappear again, which confused the beasts.

During the small confusion, Tianna and Tienna leaped toward the two Tier 7 beasts, each taking one beast.

Then, Ragna, Luci, and Reolf came to the front. Reolf howled to grab their attention.

When they were about to move, they would soon fall for a rain of grenades that Melody dropped from the sky with the help of Rea.

*Roar?!*

The beasts were confused because all this stuff kept coming out of nowhere.

But more importantly, there was another thing that was coming. It was an arrow from three hundred meters away.

The arrow might not have any visual or audio impact, but it flew silently and hit a Tier 6 beast, exploding its head.

Tianna and Tienna had already accepted that the Libation Fiesta was something they couldn’t measure with normal means.

Rin was using a bow, but its weight was actually not that different from the weight of Kanaria’s rifle. Her bow was made of a special material made from the Tier 8 beast’s corpse.

To be able to kill a Tier 6 beast in a single shot wasn’t surprising, especially now that Rin had been further strengthened by items from Another World Mall.

But the key to this plan was actually Christina. There were no Tier 8 beasts that reacted to the appearance of the twins or the rest of the team because the red kong couldn’t move from his spot.

Christina had locked him with her unique ability.

Knowing that it was a trap, the kong let out another roar, recalling his teammates.

*Roar!*

The beasts were split. Some of them were trying to get back, some couldn’t because of Ragna and the others.

But those who were about to go back suddenly got hit by another shell from Kanaria. The explosion killed dozens of beasts and scared the rest.

"You are not going anywhere..." Kanaria, with one eye closed, smirked.

Clovis muttered, "We’ll proceed as planned. Christina, take the front. Erwin, restrain its movement and set up a perimeter. Jay and I will find an opening to take it down."

"Roger."
