CHAPTER 871: FIGHTING THE RED KONG

*Roar!*

The red kong noticed that the humans had separated him from the rest of the beasts. However, he still thought he could kill these four humans.

After all, they were just one Tier 7 and three Tier 6 humans. If he wanted to, he could take them down any time he wanted as a Tier 8 beast.

He realized Christina was still holding on.

"!!!" The red kong raised his head and saw the trio coming toward him. He hurriedly raised his guard, but for some reason, his instinct kept making him look down. "Grra?!"

"What’s wrong? Your opponent is me." Christina grinned. She could finally see the kong after he had retracted his hand.

It was trying to move away, but to no avail.

Instead of the three of them, Christina was actually the one making the first attack. She leaped into the air.

"!!!" The red kong widened his eyes in shock. Christina shouldn’t have been able to move after that attack, but for some reason, she could.

No, it didn’t seem that powerful slam gave her any damage.

She leaped to the kong’s face and bashed it with her shield, knocking the beast’s face to the side.

"Grooaa!" The kong was screaming. The bash of the swing was not an ordinary one. It actually caused one of the kong’s teeth to fall off.

No one would expect that a shield could be this powerful, but Christina’s family was known for their shield-wielding ability.

People called them the guardian family because the shield was meant to protect. However, the reason Ezekiel Elseingarde could become a Tier 9 was also because of his offensive ability.

If he wanted to, he could just charge with his shield and bulldoze everything in his path.

And Christina was the one who would inherit his mantle.

Angry, the kong stabilized his body and smacked Christina in the air.

Christina skillfully shifted her center of gravity and pulled the other shield to intercept the attack. Normally, she would use the unique ability to make the kong’s trip, but she actually used the Provoke on this beast’s arm so that it would continue toward her, completing the motion.

Because of the Provoke, the kong didn’t just smack her, but his body rotated a bit further. It might look like she hadn’t improved, but she actually controlled the motion of the kong the whole time.

Christina’s fighting style had been refined further. It could be said that the unique ability had gradually been integrated into her fighting style and made her fighting style unique, like her grandfather with his unique ability.

The kong’s eyes turned bloodshot as he put in more strength. Even though Erwin was strong, he was still midway through Tier 6. He couldn’t hold back the kong’s power for more than 0.5 seconds.

"Whoooa..." Erwin was just swinging on the kong’s arm while saying, "I bought you 0.5 seconds. Be grateful!"

Jay put everything he had on this swing.

"Blade Impact!"

Thanks to Erwin, the hand was one step too late to reach him, allowing Jay’s strike to arrive first.

The sword strike hit the kong’s elbow all the way to its shoulder. The blood spurted due to how deep the sword wound was.

"You suck. You should have cut off his entire arm!" Erwin shouted.

"Shut up! As if you can do better!" Jay shouted back.

Even though Erwin said that, he knew how tough a Tier 8 beast was. Despite the severely injured arm, the kong could still fight like this. In addition, the skin was tough. Even his Blade Impact couldn’t actually cut off the entire arm.

He still remembered how a Tier 8 beast had broken his arm and completely rendered him unsuitable to fight with just a single strike.

He had reached Tier 6, but it looked like he needed more training if he wanted to cut him.

Jay’s perspective had completely changed thanks to Clovis. He thought he could challenge a Tier 8 beast when there was a two-tier gap between them.

"Which is why... we are fighting together." Clovis’ voice echoed in their ears. They all saw Clovis suddenly appearing behind the kong.

Jay and Erwin didn’t even see Clovis moving.
