Apocalypse: Hero of Potato Fields
Chapter 296: Let Me Enter You
CHAPTER 296: CHAPTER 296: LET ME ENTER YOU
When the enemy surrendered.
Lin Yi immediately led eleven soldiers equipped with top-tier system equipment and flew into the enemy’s Ark.
According to the intelligence they had obtained, there were only Chimeras guarding the Ark at the time.
It was a small town, not very large in scale.
Surrounded by an earthen wall, with watchtowers on the walls.
Between the outer wall and the stone town wall, there was a field where people farmed and grazed.
Overall, it was a typical medieval settlement, with narrow streets and low houses built of stone or wood.
In the center of the town was a small castle with a huge tower standing above it.
That tower was the target.
More precisely, the top few floors of the tower.
Lin Yi initially considered blowing up the tower but then changed his mind.
If they could capture the Lord of the Ark, it would be easier to take all his treasures and people.
The tower was too solid, so they decided to enter through the front door, namely the Lord’s private balcony.
Lin Yi led his men and successfully rappelled down from the helicopter to the balcony, but the Lord was not there.
As soon as they entered the Lord’s room, all the soldiers stopped, and one of them took off his helmet.
"There are giant creatures wandering in the hall... thirty of them, no one above or below us, but I hear about fifteen people on the four floors below."
The soldier reported, possessing Level 3 skills which enhanced his hearing.
"Understood. Let’s go stealthy."
Lin Yi waved his hand, and the soldiers opened the huge wooden door of the room and walked into a wide corridor.
A huge creature with a pig nose, standing two and a half meters tall, grunted at them.
It tried to determine whether they were friend or foe, but before it could act, a hole appeared in its head as a laser beam scorched its brain.
The soldiers caught it before it fell, carefully placing it on the floor.
The soldiers continued to advance, swiftly eliminating all enemies while making as little noise as possible.
After killing six of the creatures, they reached a floor.
Nearly two-thirds of the space on this floor was a library, but there was also a room.
Inside, there were several young people, more like children...
They looked lifeless, drained of spirit, like dead fish.
Only their breathing indicated they were still alive... if you could call it "living."
Looking around, Lin Yi realized this was the feeding place for those vampiric mages who were studying.
The soldiers rushed into the library and dispatched the vampires within seconds.
One of the mages tried to create a Fire Wall, but it was only a First Level magic.
It might be effective against ordinary people, but was useless against soldiers clad in Level 4 system equipment.
With all enemies cleared and all vampires eliminated, the squad descended another six floors, killing many creatures along the way.
Finally, they found their target in a large swimming pool.
The frail old man was bathing with six female creatures.
When the soldiers burst into the room, the women were all naked but reacted instantly.
They neither asked who these people were nor what they were doing there.
One of the women jumped out of the water, spreading her wings, and charged at an incredible speed.
The woman’s body began transforming during flight.
She grew fur, and her fingers turned into claws.
"Don’t kill." The boss ordered.
Upon hearing this, Su Xin, the head of security at the Hirania Bunker, rushed forward.
He was strong and had immense endurance, able to transform into a Kua’agara beast, possessing the only Level 3 Bigala skills in the Shelter.
Su Xin quickly acted, seizing the flying creature and slamming her against the wall.
Before she hit the ground, Su Xin was on top of her, raising his magically enhanced fist.
Despite this creature’s tough skin and thick flesh, a punch to her chest from Su Xin was enough to make her wail in pain.
She fell to the ground, her body twitching from an electric shock, losing consciousness.
The other four women had already emerged from the water, standing in front of the old man.
Two of them had already started transforming.
"Boss, one’s missing."
"She merged into the water. If they dare to move, shoot them, but try not to kill them."
Lin Yi ordered and then took off his helmet.
"Surrender," he spoke through a translator.
"Your army has been defeated. If I want, I can kill you now."
"I don’t think so. I know what will happen to my girls if they fall into your hands. We might as well all die together."
The old man said, smiling, exchanging a look with the women around him, then each running in a different direction.
They began using their skills.
But immediately... their cries of pain echoed throughout the room.
One after another, they fell to the ground.
They were bleeding, and their legs, arms, or transformed limbs were shot.
The water in the swimming pool suddenly gathered into a giant mass of water, forming into a strong humanoid.
The soldiers opened fire, but it was useless. All their laser beams did was heat the water.
"Heh, let me try..."
Lin Yi said, extending his arm.
He had never tried casting magic before.
Piero had once explained to him that the more specific a mage’s imagination of the magic, and the more magic value invested, the stronger the magic would be.
However... Lin Yi was currently just a First Level mage, so he couldn’t achieve either of these two points yet.
Lin Yi imagined unleashing a destructive lightning bolt powerful enough to split a boulder, but what shot from his hand was just a small current...
Yet when this current struck the water creature, it indeed exploded into pieces.
After a while, when the water in the pool calmed down, a translucent woman appeared at the bottom, then floated to the surface.
She had passed out but was still alive.
The old man murmured to himself, kneeling down, "My girls..."
"If you surrender, I will spare their lives. I have a recovery platform and a doctor."
"Why, so you can turn them into your playthings?!" the old man roared.
"If you work for me, no one will touch a single hair on their heads." Lin Yi stared at him.
Despite his old age, a kind of brilliance still sparkled in the old man’s eyes that even many young people couldn’t match.
After thinking for a moment, Lin Yi continued, "They can stay with you. I’ve also heard you’re an expert in alchemy and Chimera... whatever that is."
"Chimera studies... so you’re looking for slaves, huh? Well, I don’t mind having a new master, but you have to save them first!"
The old man shouted loudly, pointing at the injured women.
"Send them to the doctor, it might take some time... If you let me control this ark, I can teleport them there immediately. You decide."
"Is that so? Ha! I, Azarus, Grand Mage of Argonan, Lord of the Twelfth Legion, hereby admit defeat. Everything I have now belongs to you, without any conditions."
The old man announced loudly, then sat down on the ground.
[Alert!]
The Grand Mage of the Twelfth Legion of the Argonan Kingdom has completely surrendered unconditionally, without any additional conditions.
[The ark of the defeated is now entirely under your control!]
"Now you... what’s happening...?!"
The old mage shouted, suddenly realizing that all his women had disappeared.
Before Azarus could react, a professor and his team began to administer treatment to him.
"They’re receiving treatment now..." Lin Yi focused his mind, scanning the entire ark with his thoughts.
Towers, castles, towns, suburbs, fields...
His eyes suddenly widened open.
"Those mages don’t follow your commands? And what’s with the Chimeras beneath the castle?"
"Hahaha! Vampires following human orders? Ridiculous! They’re here to trap us in this gilded cage. As for those Chimeras... well, I’m not exactly sure either..."
"This is really troublesome!"
There are 43 mages in the tower and about 500 terrifying-looking Chimeras below the tower.
Ensuring that everything in the shelter was normal and the knights had also surrendered, Lin Yi went to deal with the remaining enemies.
Those hidden Chimeras were released from their underground lairs and rampaged through the town.
"It seems they’re trying to cause as much destruction as possible, going for a scorched-earth policy against us!"
Lin Yi cursed, teleporting the residents of the town and castle to a safe area behind the wall.
The knights were the first to engage with the Chimeras, caught off guard by a horde of Chimeras and mages.
The knights managed to establish a defensive circle, though they only numbered about 300, with 100 more defending the town.
The Chimeras entered the town through eight tunnels and immediately began rampant destruction and slaughter.
"Solomon, tell the surrendered knights that the vampires have decided to slaughter everyone in the town. Anyone can take up their weapon and protect their family."
"Got it."
Lin Yi teleported several squads of soldiers and mages to the tower.
Their target was the vampires hiding inside, who were destroying everything of value.
The knights confronted the Chimeras rampaging in the streets.
To Lin Yi’s surprise, every single one of them decided to defend their town.
Two thousand relatively healthy knights, with support from a few squads of human soldiers, were teleported to the town and immediately organized into a fighting force.
Chimeras were a severe threat.
They weren’t like the foolish bigheads who tried breaking through the steel walls; these creatures were about the size of bears.
They were fast, strong, agile, and most importantly, cunning.
They used the terrain to their advantage, climbing buildings and constantly attacking the knights.
But the knights were also a formidable force.
The mages in the tower cast several combined spells, causing the building to start trembling.
Lin Yi was busy commanding the battle in the town and didn’t have the time or energy to teleport all valuable items out before the tower collapsed.
"Siri! Do you have any way to help me handle these things?"
"Boss, handle what things?"
"Intelligence, issuing commands, all these things."
"I can help, mind fusion, telepathy, increase computing ability, connect to the collective consciousness."
"So, if I understand correctly, you want to connect me to the hive mind so that those bugs can help me analyze the situation and issue orders?"
"That’s not it. You have to connect through me, connect with me..." Siri replied awkwardly.
"So you want to link to me and overclock my brain?"
"...Sort of, it’s hard to explain. Relax... let me enter you..."
